Renaming of O365 groups
Hi all, I tried to search to see if anyone had already asked, but did not find any answers. Today, I renamed one of my O365 Groups, but found the experience to be underwhelming: - No option to change the associated email address - The OneDrive associated to the group does not get renamed, nor is there an option to do so Are there any plans in the making to improve the remaning experience? Just renaming the group is likely to create confusion. I do understand the complexity of ensuring that a new email address, or OneDrive name is not already in use, but maybe offering the option to make the change manually, and thus have a check against existing names could work. Hi, is it possible to create a group with users based on a assigned license? So i want to include all users into this specific group who has e.g. an E3 license assigned, but not an E5. It seems, that the only way is to use the a ServicePlan name, not a SKU name, isn't it? Even better would be a dynamic membership rule based on the SKU, not on a ServicePlan. What i tried to do: 1. Get-MsolAccountSKU to find out the SKU name 2. Created a dynamic group without knowing which syntax to use :D 3. Used this dynamic membership rule as a workaround: (user.assignedPlans -any ((assignedPlan.service -match "NAME") -and (assignedPlan.capabilityStatus -eq "Enabled"))) (I found the ServicePlan names via Get-MsolAccountSku | Where-Object {$_.SkuPartNumber -eq “ENTERPRISEPREMIUM”} | ForEach-Object {$_.ServiceStatus} Thank you ina advance. Convert O365 Group to Shared MB
Is there a way to convert a O365 group to a shared mailbox; or at least move all of the emails/conversations from an O365 group to a shared mailbox? I know that it is recommended to use O365 groups rather than shared mailboxes, however, until I can easily setup a way to automatically send "from" an O365 group, it is just easier to open up a shared mailbox from OWA and use that. My use case is I want a "office@company.com" email address that I can assign to the office secretary and yet have the secretary have their own account. This way, the person in the secretary position changes, I can just re-assign the "office@company.com" email and all of the associated information (contacts, calendar, etc).Create a meeting in a 365-Group calendar without inviting the whole team? First, the question We have an issue. We want to replace our Shared Mailbox Calendar with the 365-Group Calendar. We use the calendar exclusively to create meetings with our customers. Unfortunately, every time someone creates a meeting with e.g. one customer and one employee, the 365-Group invites itself to the meeting. The result is that everybody in that 365-Group receives an invite. We checked very carefully not to invite the Group, but once you send out the invitation to the attendees, the group automatically and unavoidably adds itself as a participant. My question is, how to achieve this? Now the critic There is a very active uservoice with 718 votes and 109 comments, that suffer with the same issue. Although Microsoft blatantly said "BOOM! IT'S DONE" it doesn't work at all. Dozens of people are complaining about this, but Microsoft stays silent about it. That is very frustrating. In my opinion the right way for Microsoft would be to follow-up on implemented features and ask the people if they work as intended. This is both, a communication problem at Microsoft, and a lack of quality assurance that Microsoft still needs to address.Groups not visible in Outlook 2016 (professional version)
Hello, What can we do to fix or troubleshoot the following isssue: In Outlook Online we can see our office 2016 groups, but in Outlook 2016 we see no groups listed below the header "Groups". Outlook 2016 professional is installed (not ProPlus). Cached mode is on and recreating the profile didn't solved it. BartCalendar permissions on Office 365 groups?
Hi, I'm currently evaluating switching to groups for a K12-school. But as I can't have students adding and removing bookings from the group calendar, I'm looking for a way to set read-only permissions. I've seen some reference to using the set-unifiedgroup cmdlet and changing CalendarMemberReadOnly, but I can't get it to work. And if I use get-unifiedgroup, the line is empty. Am I missing something or is there another way?
Shared Calendar Appointment Detail Not Displaying In Outlook 2016
We are having an issue where group members can only see "Free/Busy" for event details in our shared Group Calendar in Outlook 2016. They are able to see full event details when accessing the Group Calender in a browser. I can't seem to find an answer anywhere of why this is occurring. Anyone know what I might be oerlooking?How to manage O365 Group membership through AD Security Groups and/or nested O365 Groups?
I have two issues concerning management of membership in Groups: 1. In the Outlook Widget, I see that I can add another O365 Group as a member in an O365 Group. But what does it mean? It seems like I am then adding the individual members from the other groups as members, not the Group as such? Or is the meaning of this that I should be able to manage individuals for instance in a "mother" group, and then add the group itself to another group as a nested group? Why don´t I then see the group in the membership list? 2. Security Groups and mail-enabled security groups seems to be a better way to manage a company or department team on a regular basis. But it does not seem that I am able to add an AD Security Group as a member in an Office 365 Group. Am I missing something, and/or is this on the roadmap?Group Calendar in Outlook 2016
Is this how Group Calendar should work? I open Group Calendar from Outlook 2016 client (ver. 1803) with Open Calendar >> From Address Book. In Group Calendar I can see my own personal calendar meetings as busy/out of office. Why my own meetings/appointments are showing in the Group calendar? Also some O365 Group Calendars are listed under My Calendars in Outlook 2016, but some I need to explicitly open and then they are added then under Shared Calendars. Teams now hides the Office 365 Groups that it creates from Exchange clients (Outlook, OWA, and the mobile apps). That’s as it should be for groups created for new teams. If you want to hide groups created for older teams, you can run the Set-UnifiedGroup cmdlet, but that soon becomes boring when you might have hundreds of groups to process. Force delete Group Site Collection after Group Deleted?
I don't suppose there is a way to force delete a site collection after the group is deleted? I created a test group that happened to use the name that I now need to use. I deleted that group days ago. It will create the group if I try to use the name I need, but appends a number to the end of the site collection (in this first case 69) Dont see a way in UI, powershell doesnt work, a bit frustrating.
