We're evaluating an integration between Microsoft 365 Copilot and a Claude model we host on Microsoft Foundry, and need to confirm current product capability before finalizing our architecture. 1. Direct Foundry Endpoint in Native M365 Copilot Is there any supported way - today, in preview, or on a near-term roadmap to configure Microsoft 365 Copilot's native experience (Business Chat, and the in-ribbon Copilot entry point in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) to route to a model hosted in our own Microsoft Foundry resource, rather than Microsoft's default hosted models? We're aware custom engine agents published via Teams/Copilot Chat exist as a separate, user-invoked surface, we need to confirm specifically whether the native Copilot experience itself can be pointed at a customer-managed endpoint, at any tenant or admin level. Additionally, can we use the custom engine agents in Office Apps (If we have M365 Copilot License)? 2. Model Picker in the M365 Copilot Interface Is there any existing or planned capability for end users, or tenant admins via policy, to select which underlying model handles a given Copilot session directly within the Copilot chat interface? If anything along these lines exists in preview or is on a roadmap, we'd appreciate details. 3. Reuse of Tenant MCP Connectors by Pro-Code Custom Engine Agents There are MCP servers already registered as Microsoft 365 Copilot connectors at the tenant level, but pro-code custom engine agents (built via the Microsoft 365 Agents SDK or Microsoft Foundry) do not inherit that same connector registry and must instead independently configure access to the same MCP Server connections. Can you confirm whether this is accurate, and whether there is any supported way for a Foundry-built custom engine agent to reuse an MCP server already registered as a tenant-level Copilot connector, rather than reconfiguring that same connection separately? We'd like to confirm whether any of the above is achievable through configuration, licensing, or preview features before deciding the feasibility.44Views1like0CommentsWhy Did Microsoft's Dedicated Product Communities Disappear?
Over the past few months, it looks like Microsoft has quietly removed or collapsed many of the dedicated product communities — including the Copilot Users Group, Tips & Tricks sections, and other structured hubs that used to exist under the old Answers/Community system. If you post a NEW question, you can still find them (see below), but I’ve found no way to reliably locate one and browse. Today, everything funnels into the generic Learn/Answers front door, and normal navigation no longer exposes product‑specific groups. The only way I’ve been able to reach them is accidentally: if a search returns zero results (announcements don't count), the system offers the opportunity to “ask a question,” (with that header), and only then does it reveal a product/community picker for the "posting space." Without that side‑door, the communities appear to be gone. This raises a few questions: Were the dedicated communities intentionally depreciated, or is this an unintended side effect of the Learn/Answers consolidation? Is the conditional “ask a question” picker now the only official way to reach product‑specific groups? If communities still exist, why are they no longer discoverable through normal navigation? Is Microsoft planning a replacement structure, or is everything moving toward a single flat Q&A model? I’m asking because the old product communities were genuinely useful — especially for product-specific workflow tips, user‑to‑user knowledge sharing, and related discussions. If anyone has insight into the reorganization, or knows whether the dedicated communities are coming back, I’d appreciate it. P.S. If anyone has seen a different workflow or found a reliable navigation path, I’d be interested in hearing it.45Views0likes1CommentCareer Change
Hello I am after some advice if possible please? I am looking for a career change to get into I.T and wanted to ask the best way to get my foot in the door please? I have a family to support and wondered if anyone else went through the same thing and how they supported their family while learning. I have been looking and got a few ideas in mind but I want to make sure everything is covered before going ahead. I am very passionate about computer technology and would love to learn more about it and build a great career through it. All support is appreciated. Trying to recover account for months with no luck. I had a old phone with the account still on it so I copied the subject lines and emails directly. This is the main reason I'm so confused why the system keeps declining me. I reach out to customer service and they can't even help as the system has no human interference. Solution? Keep trying or create a new email with them. I've seen smaller companies with better solutions, ridiculous.184Views0likes1CommentProposal : Offline Copilot Appliance for Education
Hi all at Microsoft, I am one of your old school engineers. An inspired idea suddenly came to me this morning when I saw how school institutions are suffering with cloud based infrastructure. I ran the idea through Copilot for analysis. Here is the output. Hope you can implement it. Cheers. Proposal: Offline Copilot Appliance for Secure, High Compliance Environments Executive Summary I am proposing a new Microsoft product category: Microsoft Copilot Secure Appliance (MCSA). This is a hardware bound, offline capable AI system designed for education, and regulated enterprise environments where cloud dependent AI is not viable. This product creates a new high margin revenue stream for Microsoft without reducing Azure consumption. It addresses a global market segment currently underserved by cloud only AI offerings. Market Problem Many sectors cannot rely on cloud dependent AI due to regulatory constraints, air gapped networks, national security requirements, offline resilience mandates, Azure outage sensitivity, and strict data sovereignty laws. These customers require deterministic offline operation, hardware locked security, predictable performance, controlled update channels, and zero cloud dependency. Microsoft currently has no product that satisfies these requirements. Proposed Solution: Microsoft Copilot Secure Appliance (MCSA) A dedicated, hardware accelerated AI appliance that runs a local Copilot class model with offline reasoning, offline inference, hardware bound licensing, encrypted model weights, TPM secured boot, signed update packs, and optional cloud augmentation. This creates a premium enterprise product similar to Cisco UCS, Palo Alto firewalls, Azure Stack Edge, and HoloLens Industrial Edition, but focused on AI reasoning and secure offline operation. Revenue Model Hardware sales: estimated unit pricing between $8,000 and $20,000 per appliance. Subscription update packs: monthly or annual licensing for model updates, knowledge packs, security patches, and compliance modules. Estimated recurring revenue between $200 and $500 per device per month. Enterprise support contracts: premium support tiers for government, defense, critical infrastructure, education districts, and regulated industries. Estimated annual revenue between $50,000 and $250,000 per organization. This model does not compete with Azure. It expands Microsoft’s footprint into markets where Azure cannot operate. Strategic Benefits to Microsoft New revenue channel. Offline AI appliances represent a high margin vertical market that Azure cannot reach. Government and defense adoption. Many countries legally require offline AI systems. This product satisfies those mandates. Education resilience. Schools worldwide experience outages when cloud identity fails. An offline Copilot appliance restores deterministic operation. Competitive advantage. No major cloud provider currently offers a secure offline AI appliance with enterprise reasoning capabilities. Brand alignment. Fits naturally into Microsoft’s existing ecosystem including Azure Stack, Surface Hub, Defender for IoT, Confidential Computing, and Copilot for Enterprise. Technical Feasibility The system can be built using quantized large scale models, secure hardware accelerators, TPM bound licensing, encrypted model weights, signed update packs, and local inference runtimes. Estimated development cost: between $150 million and $400 million. Estimated annual maintenance: between $20 million and $45 million. This is well within Microsoft’s R&D capacity. Conclusion The Microsoft Copilot Secure Appliance represents a strategic opportunity to expand Microsoft’s AI leadership into markets where cloud dependent AI cannot operate. It is technically feasible, commercially viable, high margin, globally relevant, aligned with government and enterprise needs, and complementary to Azure rather than competitive. I believe this product would strengthen Microsoft’s position in secure AI, expand revenue, and address a critical gap in the current AI ecosystem.109Views0likes2CommentsMicrosoft account locked
I am out of ideas and extremely frustrated with the lack of support offered by Microsoft. I was prompted to reset my password this morning (i didnt request it) Sadly i do not know the current password and had not saved in Google Chrome. I do have access to the authenticator on my mobile so i figured it would be simple! No matter what i tried i could not reset the password. Now i have locked the account trying incorrect passwords to many times. Is there a way that i can actually get physical support from Microsoft? I have a family history of images on Onedrive that i simply cannot lose access to. Xbox history and purchased games, less important but still annoying. Outlook, years of emails and attachements. If anyone has any ideas im all ears...Solved230Views0likes2CommentsWe couldnt find an Account with that Username

I used this https://account.live.com/username/recover and it sends the verification email but i cant gain access to the account is there any way to regain access to it . It was linked to a microsoft family safety group . Any help with this would be appreciated . Thank you123Views0likes1CommentDownloads Stuck at 100%
Hi all, currently getting stuck with all downloads ending at 100% then sitting like this for 1-2 minutes before finalising and being able to open. Why is this? It's clearly used for file history logging. The error occurred after updating KB5101684; other users should have noticed this. I am a VM in Q&A (Office) and have been a participant here in the Word Community for some time. Recently I've notice the tag "In Review" on my posts. Here is an example: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/discussions/word/dynamic-pages-in-mail-merge/4531584/ What does this mean? Am I doing something wrong? I tried to send a message to Allen but do not believe it went through. When I click on "Send Message" it seems to be processing and then "Send Message" comes back active. When I checked in my profile under sent messages, nothing shows up for this. Thanks in advance. Charles KenyonSolved517Views3likes29Comments
