Built for today, designed for the future - The new Outlook for Windows is ready when you are

I'm surprised to find that it is impossible to transfer my contacts from the old Outlook to the new Outlook.  It suggested that I export the contacts to a CSV file.  I did and the NEW Outlook would not accept it.  It suggested that I export the contacts to a CSV file with UTF-8 encoding.  I did and the NEW Outlook would not accept it.  The only time it accepted anything it said "Name isn't available" under all contacts imported which prompted me to delete them all 10 at a time.  It suggested that I copy and paste all the contacts to the NEW Outlook.  I did and the NEW Outlook would not accept it.  The last suggestion was that I re-enter all my contacts manually into the NEW Outlook.  I've asked numerous times if ANYONE in Microsoft knows how to transfer the contacts from my old 2010 version of Office to the NEW 365 Office Outlook contacts.  So far NO ONE KNOWS.  If someone does know how I would really appreciate the steps necessary to do the transfer.
