You’ve probably seen this happen — you leave your desktop or laptop running, and after a while the system starts eating a huge chunk of your RAM, even on modern hardware. Today I’m bringing a fix that removes this issue permanently and gives Windows back the speed, stability, and clean behavior it should have. By disabling two legacy predictive mechanisms (SysMain + Prefetch), the system stops aggressively caching applications, idle RAM usage drops significantly, and micro‑lags disappear. The attached screenshots show the system before and after applying the fix. This solution works on both Windows 10 and Windows 11, and it’s safe, reversible, and the improvement is immediate. System Ram Before: System Ram After: Step‑by‑step guide (Windows 10 / 11 RAM issue fix) Note: This is a safe and fully reversible system tweak. You’re simply disabling two legacy predictive mechanisms that no longer make sense on modern hardware. 1️⃣ Disable the SysMain service Press Win + R Type services.msc → press Enter Find SysMain in the list Double‑click it Set Startup type to Disabled Click Stop if the service is running Confirm with Apply and OK 2️⃣ Disable Prefetch in the Registry Press Win + R Type regedit → press Enter Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters Find the value EnablePrefetcher Double‑click it and set the value to: 0 Confirm with OK 3️⃣ Restart your system After rebooting, your RAM usage in idle should drop noticeably, and the system will feel cleaner, faster, and more responsive. 4️⃣ How to revert (optional) If you ever want to undo the changes: SysMain: set Startup type back to Automatic and start the service EnablePrefetcher: set the value back to 3 (default) With my regular applications open, RAM usage dropped from 60–70% to just 33%. This is how Windows should have behaved from the beginning. On top of that, overall system responsiveness improved by roughly 50% — even weaker hardware feels noticeably faster almost immediately. This RAM regression has been around since Windows 7. After the kernel overhaul in Windows 8.1 it actually got worse, and it has followed every version of Windows all the way to today. Hi everyone, I'm facing a strange issue with Windows Update on my laptop and I wanted to know if anyone else experienced something similar. Problem: When I install updates through Windows Update, the update downloads normally and during restart it goes up to 100%, but then I get the message: Something went wrong. Undoing changes. After that, Windows rolls back the update. Observation: Interestingly, updates that start directly from the “You're there” stage sometimes install correctly. Policy change I made: Previously Windows would automatically download and install updates and frequently ask for restarts. Because of that behavior, I changed the policy to manual download and install so updates would not start installing automatically. Thermal precaution I tried: Since my laptop has a faulty CPU fan, I also limited the maximum CPU state to 99% in Power Options to prevent aggressive turbo boosting and reduce potential thermal throttling during the update process. Another important observation: If I install the same update using a Windows ISO (in-place upgrade / repair install), the update installs successfully and does not fail at 100%. Possible hardware issue: My laptop currently has: A broken battery A faulty CPU fan So I'm wondering if the update process might be failing due to power or thermal issues during the installation phase. System info: OS: Windows 11 Pro Insider Preview Channel: Release Preview Current build: 26200.7840 Update that fails: KB5077241 (Build 26200.7922) Questions: Can hardware issues like a damaged battery or faulty CPU fan cause Windows Update installation failures? Why would updates succeed when installing from an ISO but fail through Windows Update? Which logs should I check to identify the exact cause? (CBS.log, WindowsUpdate.log, etc.) Any suggestions, troubleshooting steps, or similar experiences would be appreciated. Thanks!154Views0likes4CommentsUnable to install the Windows Preview Update

My computer has a network connection rate of 10Mbps every time I turn it on, but I have a broadband of 100Mbps. At this point, I only need to disable the network card and then enable it, and the speed will be restored. It has been ruled out that there is a problem with the operator or network cable. Is it a system issue? And how can I solve it?734Views1like1CommentCamera app not wirking

Respected Madams/Sirs, I am facing a very unexpected problem while updating to Windows 11 Insider Preview Feature Update (26220.7051), which encounters an error and says, "couldn't extend system reserved partition". My disk has a lot of free space available, but the EFI, of course, was full with 6mb left, so I had to extend its capacity. To fix this, I tried numerous methods, but they eventually proved fruitless. Tried extending the EFI size (currently 100 MB) using GParted, but couldn't, so created a new EFI with a 500 MB size. Executed the necessary steps and commands to make sure the computer used the new EFI as its primary EFI. The computer boots using the new EFI, but the update error hasn't gone. Tried clearing unnecessary files from the original EFI. Nothing worked. Tried cleaning my hard disk, which of course might not be the key for this since the error is related to EFI, not the hard disk itself. Still, nothing worked. To put it short, I may have tried every method possible, but nothing has worked. I urgently require assistance. My current Windows version is Windows 11 Home, version 24H2, OS build is 26120.6982, on a Dell Inspiron Laptop Please help. Thanks!1.8KViews4likes7CommentsTouchpad not working after Windows 11 Insider Preview Update
Feature Update: Windows 11 Insider Preview 10.0.26220.6690 (ge_release_upr) Quality Update: Windows 11 Insider Preview Quality Update (26220.7271) Since installing these updates, my laptop’s trackpad (touchpad) has completely stopped working. I tried uninstalling the update, but the issue persists. In Device Manager → Human Interface Devices, the driver (I2C HID Device) shows the following error: Device status: This device cannot start. (Code 10) A request for the HID descriptor failed. I attempted updating/uninstalling the driver, but the error remains. Keyboard shortcut keys to enable/disable the touchpad also do not work. I had contacted Microsoft Support and even allowed remote access, but they were unable to resolve the issue. This problem started months ago after the Insider Preview update and has not been fixed yet. Requesting guidance or a fix for this issue.236Views0likes1CommentTransparent square in some programs
For some reason on some programs like the new version of Chitubox and Dungeondraft there is a square in the window thats fully transparent (I can see any program/window underneath), it stays in the same place relative to the window, but it moves arround with the program when its not full screen. Anyone has any ideas as to what it is and how to fix it? My GPU is an 8Gb RTX 3050 and the drivers are up to date57Views0likes1CommentMemory Integrity Switches Back Off
