Hi, On a public site, searches made with anonymous users return an Error. The error found in the ULS is: "The request has been determined to be anonymous but the WindowsIdentity does not match the anonymous user." The results do display correctly with authenticated users, so it seems like a permissions issue. How can it be configured to work with anonymous users? Previously in SP2013 it worked correctly with everyone.986Views0likes0CommentsRTL support in Sharepoint 2019 server communication site search page
Hi, We built a communication site collection on Sharepoint 2019 Server platform. The site collection's langauage is Hebrew. The language of the browser and the operating system is Hebrew, too. All pages are right-to-left, like a mirror display of the LTR version, except for the search results page: People results are displayed before sites and documents results (in RTL display, they should be located on the left side of the screen). "Show all" link at the serach results section is displayed at the right side instaed of the left side, under the section title. Result thumbnail picture is located on the left side of the text (should be on the right). What can cause this problem? Is there a known issue with RTL support on sharepoint OOTB search results page? Hello together, a colleague of mine has created a SharePoint Online communication page and it is called "Templates". When I search for the page in SharePoint, I find it quite normal. However, my colleague wants that if the German employees search for "Vorlagen", that the page is also found. In the website description it says "Vorlagen", but that does not help. Does anyone of you have an idea that the German staff can find the site? Thank you and best regards Silas Muth1KViews0likes2CommentsSharePoint items are searched out by URL
I am using SharePoint 2019, is there a way to prevent the items from being searched out by URL. Because we use host header site collections, if I type the word which is in the host header, lots of the items will be displayed. I tried unselect Searchable property for Path managed property, but it not works. If there are any other managed properties controlling the URL for crawled items.719Views0likes0CommentsCan we sort with First Name and Last name in Kanji character in Employee Directory ?
Hello Everyone, I am trying to create an employee directory and I have created an Enterprise Search site. We are a group of companies and mainly work with Japanese. When editing the Search Results web part I have included this string into the & Available sort orders (JSON) field: [{"name":"First Name (A - Z)","sorts":[{"p":"firstname","d":0}]}, {"name":"First Name (Z - A)","sorts":[{"p":"firstname","d":1}]}, {"name":"Last Name (A - Z)","sorts":[{"p":"lastname","d":0}]}, {"name":"Last Name (Z - A)","sorts":[{"p":"lastname","d":1}]}] But the matter is the first name and last name are (Japanese Names) kanji characters. The preferred name is English + Kanji characters; preferred name is not supported to sorting. The account name also not supported by sorting. The sorting work with only English names only. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be causing this? Thanks & Regards1.1KViews0likes0CommentsDate filtering of Bing Searches
I have become extremely reliant on being able to filter out or on searches by date. Often there are posts that are days, months, years old that are not relevant in both I want data that is old or I just want the most recent. Currently, there is a default window set that can be used consiting of less than a day, week or month old. While that is great for some statistics and data mining it is just not good enough for research. This lack of capability forces me to go back to Google to find pertinent data associated with a period. I was even envisioning a tag team capability where Bing mines the gross data and Edge Dev provides an interface to refine the data, maybe even manipulate it. I would think that seeding Bing would provide a better set of raw material. What does anyone else think?6.2KViews0likes2CommentsSearch Preferences
Currently, if you want search results to open in the client application rather than the browser each user must go to the bottom of the search results page, click the Preferences link, and change the setting to use the client application rather than opening in the browser. Is there a global setting I am missing to have all of our users' search results open in the client application rather than the browser? It is very frustrating to have to change this for each user when we would like everyone to have documents that appear in the search results open in their default client application. Hi All, Any update on when the option to include Search Refiners will be available in the Modern SharePoint site? My client has moved onto the Modern experience, but Search is not customizable as in Classic SharePoint. This is very much essential for Document Management and Search. Wanted to know if Microsoft has any ETA of when this will be available in the Modern Site experience?2.7KViews0likes1Comment
