Using the graph api weare able to get tasks from a premium plan (new Planner). However, that's about it. We are not able to make any updates to a task from a premium plan. My question is when can we expect to get access to a graph API that will allow us to fully integrate to the New Planner. Thank you157Views0likes1CommentBackup & Recovery of Planner
We have many staff using Planner (largely in Teams) for project management - it's a great tool! However, we can't find any way to back up or restore a Planner without use of a 3rd party backup/recovery tool. Can anyone offer current thoughts/suggestions on the best way to assure solid backup/recovery options for Planner?2.8KViews0likes2CommentsAbility to tag people within planner
I've noticed discussions asking for this feature dating back years, but I haven't seen any responses from Microsoft. It seems a basic feature for any project management tool. Tagging and/or assigning checklist items (or having subtasks), and the ability to tag in the comments, are such basic features of any PM tool. Planner is an interactive to-do list, it's not useful for PM.Deleted384Views1like2CommentsActive linking between the same tasks in multiple planners
I am working in an educational setting, where content area departments each have their own planner to coordinate their work. Then the district administration has there own planner to coordinate programs and funding streams. There is a lot of overlap between to 2 sets of planners and I often have to manually update tasks between them. It would be really nice to be able to link tasks between planners so that if a task is copied from one planner to another, any changes made in one planner would automatically update in both planners.1.2KViews4likes2CommentsLocking Tasks / Turn off Completion Function
I am a federal grant manager. As part of this, we have large projects with compliance requirements at every turn. Currently, the Planner App works well for us. I can create Projects 'ARPA Medical Projects' and then break that down into buckets "Children's Hospital" "Mental Health Clinic" "Health School". From there, I break them down by life cycle - Pre Award, Award, Post Award, Compliance, Monitoring, Auditing, Closeout, etc. This works GREAT - except for one thing. Clicking on anything 'Completes' it, and it 'disappears' to the bottom. 1) I would like to LOCK or SHUT OFF the completion function 2) I would like to limit WHO can 'COMPLETE' the tasks. From an organization and ease function, NOTHING compares to the ease of this program. It is exactly what I need. I just DON'T want data disappearing, especially since an auditor needs to review it. If not here, then WHERE? What program should I be using to organized the compliance of these things?1.7KViews0likes3CommentsFuture plans for a Gantt chart in Planner?
I've been working in MS Project online and received the notification that Project is going to become Planner in the future. I'm about to start a new project and reviewed the features of Planner, which seems sufficient, except the key feature missing for project management, which is the Gantt chart view. Is this something that is expected to be brought into Planner when Project gets moved over to Planner in the future? It is a key feature for visually tracking project timelines and dependencies and the only reason I will keep using Project now instead of Planner, but I don't want to lose this feature in the future.1.8KViews2likes2CommentsMany things missing
The new planner app is missing a lot of functionalities that are provided by other apps like Clickup and Monday.com. I hope the dev team will consider this. 1. Sort by due date or Primary task 2. Save the view with the applied filters. 3. Consolidated view with multiple plans with Timeline/Gantt chart.447Views0likes0CommentsPlanner features compared to SharePoint lists
We want to have a project management tool inside our Office 365. And we are not sure if we should use Planner or SharePoint lists. now I have more than 10 years of experience in SharePoint, but never used Planner before. so are those features available in Planner: - Can we customize the planner task statuses options, beyond the built-in options? Can we add more columns inside the Planner tasks? When creating a planner task can we define custom permissions? For example, can we define that only the Assigned To user can view the task or can edit it? and after submitting it, only the user manager can approve or reject it? In SharePoint lists doing the permissions and approvals (as mentioned in point 3) is available, but SharePoint lists can only have up to 50,000 items with unique permissions, so in planner do we have the same limitation of the number of tasks that can have unique permissions? can we customize the planner interface using Power Apps? Thanks in advance for any help.686Views0likes1Comment
