I got an update to Remote Desktop client for Windows ~2 weeks ago. Since then, my Remote Desktop process leaks memory to the tune of 100-200MBs, even after a session is closed. Additionally, I'm now no longer able to reconnect to a session without killing the Remote Desktop process before attempting to reconnect. This will occassionally lead to OOMs, or some aggressively memory harvesting occurs when the application has consumed most of available memory.Devices that are updated to MacOS 15.01 will have frequent disconnects when on RDP sessions
Hi There, We're facing an issue with the Windows App for MacOS devices. When one of our users upgrades to the latest MacOS Sequoia update, version 15.01. They will face constant disconnects on RDP connections to servers. Often with the error code which will be attached to the support ticket. The connection will last from only a couple of minutes, with the longest anyone has managed being around 30 minutes at the most before dropping out. Since we have teams that need connections that last longer than 30 minutes, this is becoming very disruptive. This doesn't impact those on previous MacOS versions or other operating systems. Work around methods when looking online into this suggest turning local firewall settings off, which isn't possible due to company policy. Thank you.324Views5likes5CommentsMacOS Windows App Dynamic Resolution not working
When using MacOS Windows App 11.0.5, if the AVD icon settings are left un-customised, the App does not honour the host pool setting to enable Dynamic Resolution. Dynamic Resolution only seems to work if it's explicitly enabled on each AVD icon within the Windows App on the client device. Our users expect Dynamic Resolution to work by default. It's enabled in the host pool and it previously worked on the RD Client.I purchased Windows 11 Pro but still cannot use Remote Access from my new Macbook Pro to my HP comp.
Hi, I just purchased Windows 11 Pro but still cannot use Remote Access from my new Macbook Pro to my HP Computer. I type in the same credentials (i.e. username and password) that I need to login to my HP Desktop but it still gives me an error that the computer is not found when I try to use Remote Access from my Macbook. What's going on? Also, I call constantly the Help line and I got through only once. The call dropped immediately with a weird recording saying that it was past work hours but there was someone speaking to me who got caught off. Also then I call back and it goes on for hours without any answer. I think there's some sort of AI security protocol being triggerd. I'm not doing anything illegal I'm trying just to do my own economics research (I am a economics professor) using publicly available large data sets on my HP Desktop that I cannot run statistical programs on as quickly on my laptop. What can I do to fix this? Best, Eric212Views0likes6CommentsWindows App Disconnects my Remote session randomly
It seems the Windows App (for Mac) disconnects me from my Remote Desktop session randomly. It could stay connected for a few seconds or unto 45 minutes. Doesn't matter if its idol or if I am doing something... I am using WireGuard but have also tried with L2TP and get the same results If I connect from my Windows VM using Wireguard and Remote Desktop all is good so everything is pointing to Windows App. There are a couple of entries in my Console relating to Windows App when it crashes but that couple be for any reason... Anyone else have similar or could offer any help please let me knowBug: Microsoft Remote Desktop on Mac Hangs when copied a large file on remote desktop
I've found a bug that happens to hang Microsoft Remote Desktop on Mac quite often. With shared clipboard enabled (It might also reproduce without shared clipboard, but I didn't try it): On the remote desktop, copy a folder or solution that is fairly large. It doesn't need to be multiple gigabytes, but tens of MB usually can do the trick. Then, switch back to your normal desktop. Once I do this, my Microsoft Remote Desktop now pinwheels and hangs, and I must force quit it and restart it in order to access my remote desktop again.554Views0likes2CommentsIssues when using RD client on iPad with hardware keyboard
I’m using a 2022 iPad Pro m2 with Magic Keyboard on iPadOS 18, when I’m connected to my laptop, my keyboard doesn’t work at all unless I click the keyboard icon on the right side of the screen, which is usually for the onscreen keyboard and f-keys. I didn’t need to do this in the older versions of RD client, would be pretty annoying if a keyboard bar and a control dot have to pop up even I’m using a hardware keyboard. Also when I’m trying to type Chinese, it would use iOS’s Chinese input method instead of Windows Chinese input method, which is also really annoying and buggy especially in iOS 18 which the word selector wouldn’t show up at all. Would be really nice if Microsoft could solve these issues!455Views0likes1CommentFix the Option/Alt bug in Version 10.9.8 (2217)
When connecting to a Windows 10 device from a MacOS 14.5 device, pressing the Option/Alt key on the Mac keyboard renders the MacOS Option-[Key] character in Windows. It does not trigger the Windows Alt-[Key] combination. For example, pressing Option-C in MacOS, which renders the cedilla character "ç" on the MacOS device, generates the same character on the remote Windows device. It does not trigger Alt-C.245Views0likes1Comment
