CoPilot wrote this post... in fact its proposed title was New Teams Interface – Missing Basic Functionality & Creating Chaos for Admins, so I think it's sensing a bit of annoyance at the new UI... I’m posting this out of sheer frustration after wrestling with the new Microsoft Teams layout. I'm an IT admin responsible for managing Teams across multiple users, and the recent interface update has made that nearly impossible. Key issue: You can no longer pin or favourite entire teams—only individual channels. This is a huge regression in usability. For power users and admins, being able to organize entire teams was essential. Now, everything’s buried under scattered views, vague icons, and non-intuitive menus. I’ve gone through every menu and setting imaginable. “Show,” “Pin,” “Back to classic”—none of it helps because Microsoft simply removed the feature. Even Copilot (Microsoft's own AI tool) couldn’t make sense of what was missing until we both realized the function was outright gone. That’s saying something. This change is actively hurting productivity for both end users and those of us tasked with supporting them. Updates should make things better—not hide or remove critical features without proper notice or alternatives. Microsoft, please rethink this. Stop redesigning without considering the real-world implications for businesses trying to stay organized. — If others are feeling the same pain, let’s get this some visibility. Microsoft Edge Version 91.0.836.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) if you don't have it yet, it's because of CFR so with this new behavior, you can move your mouse/finger to the left/right edge of the screen to reveal Web Widget. of course, there are other ways to access it too. So what do you think about this?1.2KViews2likes3Comments[Suggesion] Add an option to make websites installd as apps to be always on top, like Windows apps
Add the option to somewhere like this As to Why I want this feature and reasons behind it, there are a couple: I want to install YouTube website as an app, make it to be on top of all windows so it won't be behind the program that I use. for example I want to code in Visual Studio and watch a YouTube video to learn something and apply it directly. I want to have Bing or Google search installed as an app in Edge, launch the app, resize the window to have a rectangle shape, put it on the left side to have a side bar which always stays on top. now I can always quickly search for anything I want in that Edge app, no matter what program I use, because it stays on top.*** there are lots of other examples, where websites host a specific service and when we add it in Edge as an app, we will be able to use it just like a real Windows app and have it accessible on all programs if we pin it to be always on top. ***You could say that I could use Windows 10 search on the taskbar but It's not the same. because when you click on something, a picture, video etc, that is a link, the search app in Windows 10 will open it in a full browser window. what i would want is to view that image, watch that YouTube video, right from my Windows 10 taskbar, without going to a full browser window. Lock the taskbar option should Lock the taskbar and prevent from accidentally rearranging pinned items or Pinning new items to the taskbar currently lock the taskbar only prevents from accidentally dragging taskbar and moving it left/right/top. that actually never happened to me, when the taskbar is unlocked, I've never ever accidentally dragged the taskbar and moved it left/right/top. but instead it's happened lots of times when I accidentally added a new icon to taskbar, rearranged icons, deleted new icons, Unpinned an icon from taskbar. I need Lock the taskbar to prevent from these accidents too. this is more important and useful and makes more sense. please upvote this suggestion in the feedback hub: https://aka.ms/AAainq9877Views1like0CommentsProblem with PWA icons on Start menu on Edge dev
When installing a website, such as Instagram, as PWA in Edge dev (Version 88.0.685.3), the Instagram icon appears in the apps list of Start menu, at the top under "recently added" list (not pinned yet). when you drag & drop it on the Start menu to Pin it, it will have a small centered icon. but if you go to edge://apps/ and Pin Instagram's icon from there then Instagram's icon will be in normal big size in the Start menu Left side is big and normal, right side is very small pea-sized icon created by drag & drop. Instagram is one of the websites used as example, the same thing happens to Twitter, YouTube, Bing etc (tried all of them). see if you can reproduce it and send feedback through browser (preferably with "recreate my problem") Windows 10 20H2 latest version5.6KViews1like6Comments
