365 Form Missing Option I would prefer to use Office 365 Forms as opposed to Google Drive Forms BUT there is no 'File Upload' option as a field in 365. WHY? In education this is a standard, if not, crucial option yet it's not a feature of 365 Forms (Yet in Google Drive it's there) Is there a way to add this? If not how do we go about submitting it as a request as it would be HUGELY useful. We are having to use Google drive at our school as the feature is not available in 365. Hello, We're taking the opportunity during these strange times to review our licensing agreements and decide whether we would be better off changing things around. However, I'm having trouble understanding exactly what is included in the Microsoft 365 E3 package. The details state that it includes Windows 10 and Server CALs, but does that mean that we could safely cancel our existing OVS-ES agreement and switch to licensing directly from Microsoft? In doing so, we would gain lots of management capabilities using InTune (and Endpoint Manager), but the cost would be so high that it will only work if we can offset it against not renewing our OVS-ES agreement. We already have Office 365 ProPlus included with our Office 365 A1 package, and recently switched to licensing Office using the shared computer activation feature, thereby foregoing our entitlement to Office 2019 ProPlus from the OVS-ES agreement. (There's a strange link here anyway.. I feel like we only get O365 ProPlus installation rights through O365 because of the OVS-ES agreement, though we would keep this benefit if switching to M365 E3 anyway so this seems elementary to me.) Why is MS Licensing so convoluted?! (Probably out of necessity, I know.. just makes it hard to properly compare options!)16KViews0likes1CommentEmbed Feature in OneDrive for Business
Why is there no Embed feature for OneDrive for Business? As a school with an Office365 tenancy and an active VLE we would like to be able to embed resources on pages the same way we can do it for OneDrive personal. Would have wished that MS had looked more at OneDrive personal when developing an education solution rather than the business based OneDrive for Business.Solved12KViews0likes5CommentsWill we definitely have a fully operational version of Teams for edu in July 2017?
Our school needs to decide whether or not to progress with Teams as a viable alternative to Classroom, or to fall back on Teacher Dashboard. Our main concern (especially since the announcement of abondoning Classroom) is that features such as class notebook, assignments, gradebook and student permission controls will not be available in advance of the new academic year (September 2017). Please could somebody at MS clarify what will be available to edu users and when this will be rolled out. Much appreciated.4.8KViews1like6CommentsMicrosoft Teams for EDU
What are the features of Microsoft Teams for EDU which will differentiate it from the standard Microsoft Teams? Is there anyone who could give us a sneak peek at what we can expect. I'm quite excited about Microsoft Teams and I have started playing around with it. I can see its potential in creating a unified user interface to do what Microsoft Classroom was meant to do - but which came across quite disjointedly. I know that it may seem like a setback for the early adopters of Ms Classroom - sorry for that! However, that is how it goes in IT for those who are on the cutting edge of technology. Sometimes you get cut! There are posts like https://education.microsoft.com/courses-and-resources/resources/meet-microsoft-teams, with some information. It would be nice that, while we tinker with Teams, we have a better idea of features that we may expect - so that we can plan with that in mind.Solved3.7KViews2likes5CommentsAzure AD Group Based Licensing in Education. Will this apply to Staff, Students and Alumni?
Please note that I have previously posted this as a ‘reply’ to the announcement of the feature https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Azure-Active-Directory/Azure-AD-group-based-license-management-for-Office-365-and-more/m-p/57595#M304 - I apologize if this is some sort of cross posting breach. Greetings all, My question is specifically in regards to end user licensing in the Education Sector, which is needed to use Azure AD Group Based Licensing. Going by Source 1, all users who inherit a license via the group based licensing model will need an Azure AD Basic license (not Azure AD Free). Going by Source 2, this will change once the functionality reaches GA. Once this happens, "it will be included in Office 365 Enterprise E3 and similar products." As Education licensing differs from the standard Enterprise E3, will this functionality be included at no cost for Student and Alumni licensing? As you can imagine, a large University will have hundreds of thousands of Alumni and tens of thousands of Students. Having Education E3 include the Azure AD Basic licensing / eligibility for Azure AD Group based licensing for $0 will help for Staff, but if Azure AD Basic licensing is not included for Alumni and Students, the Education sector will not be able to afford to use this awesome functionality. Can someone please provide clarity, and preferably a link to a valid Microsoft site, on how Azure AD Group Based Licensing and Azure AD Basic will apply to Staff, Students and Alumni. Source 1 - Link - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/active-directory-licensing-whatis-azure-portal Features – During public preview, a paid or trial subscription for Azure AD basic or premium editions is required in the tenant to use group-based license management. Also, every user who inherits any licenses from groups must have the paid Azure AD edition license assigned to them. Source 2 - Link - https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/enterprisemobility/2017/02/22/announcing-the-public-preview-of-azure-ad-group-based-license-management-for-office-365-and-more/%C2%A0 It contains the following statement: "While group-based license management is in public preview you will need an active subscription for Azure AD Basic (or above) in your tenant to assign licenses to groups. If you don’t have one, just sign up for an Enterprise Mobility + Security trial. Later, when this functionality becomes generally available it will be included in Office 365 Enterprise E3 and similar products."3.3KViews4likes3CommentsModern classroom collaboration with Office 365 for Education
