o365 groups
6 TopicsRetention policy and deleted group
Hello there. I do have a question regarding retention policies on o365 groups and what happens to it after deletion. As I was testing my group, I deleted it, I was able to see it as softdeleted via get-unifiedgroup but I couldn’t see it as inactive mailbox anywhere, couldn’t pull mailbox statistics as well. I wasn’t able to do content search as it couldn’t find it. Am I missing something here? I thought mailbox would be preserved after deletion - like shared or user mailbox.Solved2.5KViews0likes4CommentsHow to prevent users from Joining Private groups without invite

Hello everyone, I'd like to discuss the fact that setting group settings for a single O365 group via MS Graph needs Directory.ReadWrite.All permissions. See this article for details: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/api/groupsetting-update?view=graph-rest-1.0&tabs=csharp Changing the settings of a group is a very common task and important settings like setting access for external are included there. This should not be blocked behind such a "dangerous" permission level as Directory.ReadWrite.All. Instead it should use Group.ReadWrite.All. I don't care what goes on behind the scenes (creating a new local https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/api/groupsetting-post-groupsettings?view=graph-rest-1.0&tabs=http everytime for the group etc which is a huge overhead for 99% of the cases). I just want to ensure that we can change settings for single groups. These are local settings only and should behave the same as changing settings for a https://docs.microsoft.com/de-de/graph/api/team-update?view=graph-rest-1.0&tabs=http. And I know this is an azure ad topic therefore the chances that there will be any feedback from the Microsoft side (in comparison to Teams or SharePoint topics) are near 0. 😞1.4KViews0likes2CommentsApply o365 Group Classification to documents in Sharepoint Online
Hello, We've just enabled the o365 group classification and it is now available on our teamsites (modern experience). This is a good first step. But the real help for the users would be if this classification would be available on documents. Then users could change classification per document and it would be much easier to work with it. Does anybody know if there is an option make this possible? Or are there plans from Microsoft to make this possible? Any help is greatly appreciated :) ClemensSolved1.1KViews0likes1CommentSite collection recycle bin
Hello, I have been looking at classic SharePoint Admin Center, modern admin center and O365 group. I am confused with the deletion times that are available for each. Classic SharePoint Admin Center keeps deleted sites stay in Recycle Bin for 30 days Modern SharePoint Admin Center Recycle Bin keeps the sites for 93 days Deleted O365 group can be restored within 30 days Does that mean that the actual time the site is available to be restored is 93 days? Will O365 group site be available to be restored for 93 days as they still get listed in the Deleted Sites? For group sites, do they need to be restored using PowerShell as the Restore button doesn't show up? Since, the group can't be restored, how will sites be used? Thank you. Hello, I have noticed that there are quite a few Group sites in our tenant for which group doesn't exist. I am not sure if it's a normal behavior but I do have some questions. - Under what circumstances, can it happen? My guess is group got deleted but site didn't. Shouldn't the site be deleted with group in that case? - Since those are the group sites, I can't pull who is the owner unless, I have the group. Is there any other way, I can get the ownership information? - Is there a way to re-associate these group sites to some group? One of them needs to be a MS Teams site. - Is there a way to prevent something like this happening in future? Thank you. Bhavpreet BainsSolved4.9KViews0likes6Comments
