Hi All, I'm looking for a method of changing a News Page to a Site Page. These pages were created prior to the hub sites being rolled out, now they are showing up in the News sections of all pages. I'm familiar with the Promoted State column, but I haven't been able to find instructions on how to actually change the value in that column. I've seen references to using Flow but never any instructions on actually doing that. Any tips on this would be appreciated.Solved73KViews0likes60CommentsRESOLVED: How to change Modern page Author from the "Created By" field to something else
When we use the Modern Pages to Publish news, we can see the WebPart "Last Published News" with a vignette (Image, Title, first part of the text and Author). The issue is this value when you use an automation system to create the site canevas, because the News Author will stay with the "Created By" field as Author which is in my case the account used for the PowerShell script. As you can see in that picture, I modified some pages with my standard account and the Home Page Webpart shows only the admin account as Author The "See All" link placed into the Last news WebPart is pointing an aggregated view of all the published news and you can see into the Author shows only the "Created by" field (my admin account). Is there anyone who know how to define another field as Author for that "News" Modern Page ? Fabrice RomelardSolved46KViews0likes19CommentsCSP Legacy commercial subscription migrations reminder
As previously announced in July 2023, Microsoft will begin migrating all Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) commercial subscriptions that remain in the legacy system to new commerce in January 2024. All legacy subscriptions that Microsoft migrates to new commerce will be set to an annual term with the same billing plan and seat counts that the customers had in legacy. This Microsoft-led migration will occur on the date of subscription renewal, starting with all subscriptions set to renew on January 11, 2024 and continuing throughout the 2024 calendar year. Partners will have seven days after migration is complete to change the subscription term, quantity or cancel the subscription if necessary. We recommend that partners manage their customers’ migrations now to ensure the customer has the terms that best suit their business needs. If customers want monthly subscription terms, partners should migrate them before the legacy subscriptions reach end of term in 2024. In addition to setting customized terms with customers, proactive migration also gives partners the opportunity to socialize this change with indirect resellers and others in the partner’s ecosystem. Most Microsoft 365, Office 365, Security and Dynamics 365 commercial offers are currently available in new commerce. Partners can find the current list of CSP legacy offers available for new commerce in the Partner Center pricing workspace. Over the course of calendar year 2024, Microsoft will share the timeline for migration of all other remaining CSP legacy offers, including multi-year offers. Our intent is to ensure a Microsoft-led migration path for each CSP legacy offer at the time of customer renewal, starting with renewal dates in 2024 and beyond. Resources to help partners migrate customers to new commerce To support partners with their migration, Microsoft will run CSP Technical Training and CSP Spotlight calls in the months of October, November, and December. These sessions will give partners the opportunity to learn about migration details from Microsoft experts. Documentation is also available to assist partners who plan to drive their customers’ migrations themselves. Partners can review the Migrate subscriptions to new commerce article on Microsoft Learn and the other how-to documentation in the Resources section below, to complete customer migrations themselves. Update on new commerce timeline for CSP GCC, education and nonprofit legacy offers In July, Microsoft announced that CSP legacy Public Sector offers for Government Community Cloud (GCC), education and nonprofit would be available in CSP new commerce in November 2023. However, we have received feedback from partners that making system changes at the end of the calendar year would be difficult. To avoid business disruption for partners, we will launch Public Sector offers in new commerce and begin Microsoft-led migrations of Public Sector offers in calendar year 2024. We will provide an update on the revised timeline for both launches soon. Next Steps: Take action before January 2024 to start migrating your customers to new commerce. You can find how-to documentation here. This is especially important if your customers want monthly terms instead of annual terms. Learn how to use the batch migration (BAM) tool here. Find out how to earn partner incentives through the Microsoft Commerce Incentives (MCI) program. Download the Partner Incentives Guide here, and sign into the Partner Incentives page to enroll. We created a modern communication site to use as an intranet site. On that site we want to use two news webparts: one for corporate messages and one for news with lower importance. I want to use a filter one a custom (site) column in the site pages library: important messages, which is a yes/no type. This is one of a few custom site columns we created. None of the columns show up in the news webpart page properties filter. Only the title is available. Do we need to change something in the columns to make them show up?Solved32KViews0likes29CommentsSharePoint modern news webpart "something went wrong"
Hi everyone, the news webpart in list and carousel mode doesn't show the news items that exist, unless you specify them explicitly using the "organize" function of web part. What this means is that the most recently added webpart doesn't show up at the top of the "News webpart" list. The news webpart gives "something went wrong" error. Same error in IE and Chrome. I thought it was caused by new news items with titles that contained maori characters e.g. Staff Announcements: Pānui Kaimahi - 22 Āperira 2020 BUT even when i rename the aspx files in PageFiles to remove the accents above the characters I still get the errors. I've also seen the same sort of error when a users creating the news item was on a very slow connection. In both cases the news item page works fine if you go to it specifically in the browser window. It is the filter or select statement in the News webpart that is having the problem. Note the middle column of the home page is using the Modern Yammer web part. Could it be some cross over error ?? Please tell me how to find the news pages which are causing the issue, and how to fix it ! Many thanks DorjeSolved26KViews0likes7CommentsModern sites - news webpart limitations
Hi - I'm about to launch a new intranet based on communication sites and finding lots of limitations with the news web part 1) The owner of my homepage would like to be able to identify news articles in the list of site pages. I've added the column promotedstate (using lookup from promoted state) to site pages to try and show where the value is 2 but can't get any values to display in that list view. Is there a better way?. It would be great if Microsoft would provide a way for pages to be changed to news articles. 2) Ideally we want to be able to rank news stories to control the order they appear. Is there any method to use a refineable field or managedproperty to do this? 3) The modern news web part doesn't have any controls to say whether to show news from just this site or the site collection. I'm therefore forced to use highlighted content for news which doesn't display news articles in the same way (you don't get the same first sentence of the article shown). Is there any other way to refine what the news web part searches for? It seems to be the only modern web part with no controls when its one of the most important things on a homepage! Thanks IanSolved26KViews3likes10Comments
