Is there any official way to use shared mailboxes on mobile devices like iPhone/iPad? I have a group of people here who need to check incoming emails to a shared mailbox and they want to do that whole being on the road and have no access to their full blown up desktop version of Outlook. I known I could direct them to OWA, but that's not fun on iPhone and they are really used to just one app for their emails.1.5KViews0likes2CommentsAttachments fail (not links) in Outlook for iOS
I am unable to attach/send a file from my OneDrive for Business site using the Outlook for iOS app. The file type does not matter, I have tested with docx and xlsx. I receive the error message shown below and the message goes to my drafts folder. For some of the files I do not even get the attach option, insert OneDrive for Business Link is the only option. Inserting a link to the file works without issue. I can open the OneDrive app on my iOS device and choose send file, copy to Outlook and the file will send without issue. Our MDM application is not set to restrict this behavior. Any ideas why the attachment fails from Outlook for iOS? iOS v 11.0.2 Outlook v 2.46.0Solved4.1KViews1like1CommentYour guide to Outlook at Ignite 2017!
Hey all! Hope you are getting excited for Ignite! We have a great slate of sessions scheduled this year for Outlook, spanning each of our different client and key scenarios like groups and calendaring. To make it easier to find us in Orlando, I've pulled together a list of the core sessions you should look at attending to hear about all things Outlook. And of course, you can always swing by the Outlook & Groups booths to meet the team. https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Outlook-Blog/The-Outlook-guide-to-Microsoft-Ignite-2017/ba-p/108550 Looking forward to seeing you there! -Allen1.1KViews1like2CommentsEmail management best practices using Outlook across devices
My job is to guide users on how to effectively use Office 365 to increase their productivity. At the moment I'm struggeling when it comes to best practices for email management using Outlook across devices (Outlook, Outlook on the web and the Outlook mobile app), since they all provide different ways for managing email. In Outlook on the web you can pin email to the top, in the Outlook Mobile app you can swipe to schedule email that later appears in your inbox again if you haven't compelted them, but these are not reflected in the Windows version of Outlook (just to mention a few differences). It would be so much better from a user perspective if there was a streamlined set of functionalities that worked across all Outlook versions. Is this something that Microsoft is working on, or will we continue to see different Outlook teams releasing functionality independently? Is there a unified "best practices" guidance for Outlook across devices? Thanks for this forum and for the User Voice platform!3KViews0likes3CommentsFrom-name not working when sending E-mail from Outlook UWP app.
The Outlook Mail app for Windows 10 Mobile (and Windows 10 Mail, the pre-installed Mail app on the PC version of Windows 10) all suffers from the same bug. The app doesn’t honor the “Send your messages using this name” setting. Instead it sends mail with just the email address as the sender. (The recipient doesn’t see “Firstname Lastname” when receiving mail sent from the Outlook app. Instead they just see email@domain.com.) I’ve verified that the problem occurs on IMAP accounts, including Gmail, as well as some Exchange Activesync accounts. Email accounts from Microsoft seems to work fine however (i.e. @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com). As a result, some emails get lost due to being blocked, while some are registered as spam and are being moved to the recipient’s spam folder. What’s worse no one seems to be doing anything to fix this. The bug has been in place since summer. The app has been updated countless times since then but still no fix in order. In fact, no one seems to even acknowledge that there is something wrong. I know this is probably not the right forum for this, but it is my last resort. Before posting this here I’ve tried to contact the Outlook support via chat, hoping they could escalate it up to the devs, but the support technician didn’t understand me and wanted me to contact the German company B2X which has recently been appointed to handle Windows mobile customer support. (Even though this affects the PC version of the app too.) I’ve also tried posting this in the Outlook Uservoice, but the moderator deleted it. (My (now deleted) Uservoice suggestion/bug report: https://outlook.uservoice.com/forums/322590-outlook-2016-for-windows/suggestions/17939938-fix-send-your-messages-using-this-name-bug ) I’ve compiled a list of bug reports from other users. Both from answers.microsoft.com and from the Windows 10 Feedback Hub. (This bug is affecting far more people than the number of bug reports indicate though. When I asked around about this on the Swedish Windows Phone Facebook group, it turned out everyone using IMAP had the bug. (They just hadn’t noticed it until I asked them to check.) Can you guys please check this out? Okay, I originally thought this bug only affected the Outlook Mail app on Windows 10 Mobile. As I've continued to research this and speak to other users I've concluded that the bug has nothing to do with Outlook at all, but rather the touch keyboard in Windows 10 (both PC and Mobile). With that said, this is posted in the completely wrong forum. I will keep the post here if it's okay with moderators though, since my Feedback Hub post is linking to this URL. What I have surmised so far is this: the bug affects Scandinavian touch keyboards (Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish) in conjunction with Word Mobile, Word Online and the Outlook/Windows 10 Mail UWP. (It might affect more keyboards. Don't have the time to test them all. Have however tried with French, Italian, English US and Englisk UK, and none of those are affected.) The @ symbol on these keyboards has somehow stopped working as intended. (I.e. it doesn't print out a @.) When using your touch keyboard on either a Windows 10 Mobile device or a Windows 10 pc/tablet, the @ sends a command to change the style of the text from "Normal" to "Heading 2". My original post is still below. What happens in the video at the bottom is the same result I've been able to reproduce when trying the other scandinavian languages, and when testing the touch keyboard on my Surface Pro with Word Mobile, Word Online and Windows 10 Mail. Original post with original edits: Edit: I've tested with Danish keyboard too. The bug is present there too. So this is not only affecting the Swedish keyboard. Edit 2: This bug is affecting not only Outlook, but Word Mobile as well. Edit 3: After more research I've found that this bug not only affects Windows 10 Mobile, but also the PC version. I've reproduced the bug in both Windows 10 Mail and Word Mobile on my Surface Pro tablet. The bug only occurs when using the on screen keyboard (touch keyboard), not while using a physical keyboard. While using the Swedish keyboard for writing an email in the Outlook Mail app on Windows 10 Mobile the "at-symbol" doesn't work as intended. Instead of outputting a simple "@" it changes the formatting of the text in the mail to "Header 2". English keyboard works fine. Our organization of around 400 people has a select few who have an issue with calendar events reappearing. They are both single events and recurring events. We have tried deleting them from Outlook online but that does not resolve the issue. I have talked with a Microsoft Support representative about using PowerShell to delete individual events that are possibly corrupt. At this point that would be very time consuming and I am looking for a cause and permanent fix for this problem. Any ideas are appreciated.1.4KViews0likes2CommentsOutlook add-in for mobile devices
Hi everyone, We've created an Outlook add-in, Keluro done to improve collaboration around business emails. It works fine with Outlook desktop and OWA but the add-ins are still not supported for iOS (iPad or iPhone) and Android. Does someone has any news about when it becomes available? Thanks, Gregoire1.2KViews0likes2CommentsVote for Outlook for iPhone without routing through third party servers
If you check the privacy policy of the Outlook for iPhone app you will see that emails, credentials and data is stored and processed by a third party company named acompli. They name it a MS company but why should MS not just use their own servers in their datacenters for mobile users? Perhaps that now you ask yourself why we do not just use Echange connect through the native iPhone apps. As we had problems with a calendar in Office 365 I opened a supportcase and asked for help. MS wouldn´t investigate the problem as we use the iPhone´s native apps for mail, calendar etc. even though the problem must have been an issue related to permissions in the backend as I could see calendar details I shouldn´t see. They just closed the case because they only support Outlook and Outlook WebApp. WepApp doesn´t work properly in our environment. It just stops syncing after some days. So the only app we could use is Outloo for iPhone which doesn´t fit our needs for compliance. Please vote for a compliant Outlook App for iPhone without third party.
