Hello Microsoft Support Community, I am experiencing a persistent issue with Microsoft To Do list sharing between two personal Microsoft accounts. Account configuration: Account 1: Personal Microsoft account registered with Gmail. Account 2: Personal Microsoft account using Hotmail. Subscription: Microsoft 365 Family. Both accounts can independently sign in to Microsoft To Do and use the application without any issues. Problem: Neither account can join a list shared by the other. The following error appears: "Lists can only be shared between personal accounts, or between work or school accounts in the same organization." Both accounts are personal Microsoft accounts, so this restriction should not apply. Troubleshooting already completed: Verified that both accounts are personal Microsoft accounts. Tested sharing in both directions (Gmail → Hotmail and Hotmail → Gmail). Created completely new test lists. Generated new sharing invitation links. Tested using Chrome Incognito mode. Tested across Chrome browser and Android devices. Confirmed that both accounts can access Microsoft To Do independently. The problem persists in every scenario. Assistance requested: Could you please investigate the following? Whether either account is incorrectly identified as a work or school account by the To Do sharing service. Whether there are account-level restrictions affecting list sharing. Whether there is a backend issue with the Microsoft To Do sharing service. Whether this issue can be escalated to the Microsoft To Do product or engineering team. I would appreciate technical assistance rather than further generic recommendations to reinstall the application or clear browser cache, as these steps have already been effectively ruled out. Thank you for your assistance.65Views1like2CommentsVoice-Based Integration to Simplify Task Capture in Microsoft To Do
Hi everyone, We’re working on Gennie, a voice-based assistant designed to integrate with task and productivity tools like Microsoft To Do to make everyday task capture easier. Many tasks come up during meetings, calls, or while switching between apps, but they often get added to task lists later, sometimes missing important context. The goal of this integration is to let users speak tasks or reminders naturally and have them organized in Microsoft To Do, while keeping Microsoft To Do as the primary task manager. Some Microsoft To Do–specific use cases we’re exploring: Creating tasks using voice Adding notes or details to existing tasks hands-free Capturing quick reminders as they come up Reducing friction between conversations and task entry We’d love to hear from the community: Where does task capture slow you down today? Which Microsoft To Do actions would benefit most from voice input? Looking forward to learning from your workflows and feedback.660Views1like2Comments
