Microsoft Account Stolen
Hello. Two or three days ago, a hacker managed to change the email address associated with my Microsoft account and added an authenticator app—all without any security codes being triggered. The password was also changed. I am currently unable to access the account, and I cannot reset the password. Furthermore, I am receiving no response to my account recovery form submissions. How is it possible for someone to add a new email address and an authenticator app to my account without any security codes, especially when my payment methods and games are linked to it? Also, why are the forms left unanswered for days on end? It’s absolute nonsense.
I cannot log in to my work account using SMS authentication
Hi everyone! I am requesting assistance with the following issue. I receive the message: Sorry, we're having trouble verifying your account. Please try again. Previously, SMS authentication worked, but now I am getting the error mentioned above. Error Code: 399287 Request Id: 8cf24bf5-1607-4ab6-80c7-d00221f84d00 Correlation Id: 4b22fb8b-b772-49be-ba47-7b0142da5da5 Timestamp: 2026-03-27T08:00:09Z My password is accepted, but I get stuck at the authentication step afterward. Maybe blocked my mobile number. Thank you in advance for your help!Retiring my own Entra tenant: how can I preserve my existing Tech Community profile?
I have an existing Microsoft Tech Community profile with years of posts, replies, subscriptions, reputation and private messages. The profile is currently accessed using a work/school Microsoft account belonging to a Microsoft Entra tenant that I own and plan to retire (not migrate: retire). When I try to sign in with a personal Microsoft account, Tech Community presents a first-time consent screen, which makes me concerned that it would create a new profile rather than attach to the existing one. Unlike Microsoft Learn, I have not found any option to link accounts, merge identities, or change the sign-in identity for an existing Tech Community profile. Questions: Is there any supported way to preserve access to an existing Tech Community profile after the work/school account used to sign in is no longer available? Is there any supported way to transfer, migrate, associate, merge, relink, or otherwise preserve an existing Tech Community profile and its data? What happens to an existing Tech Community profile if the Microsoft Entra tenant that owns the work/school account is retired? If preserving the existing login identity is not possible, is there a supported way to preserve and transfer all existing profile data (posts, replies, subscriptions, private messages, badges, reputation, groups, follows, etc.) to a new account? I would appreciate guidance from Microsoft staff or anyone who has successfully gone through this process. Thanks!Authenticator app not showing code
Hey, in need of help please. Trying to log into MS 365, it asks for Authenticator app code, the app used to work but nothing happening now. No code provided. The app offers a verification code too but nothing happens other than returning to previous screen. Tried "sign in another way" on MS365 webpage and again verification code and again nothing. As I can not log in I can not get support. The UK phone number chatbot will not allow me to speak to a person or raise a ticket, no matter what prompts I try, it directs me to aka.ms/mac365 and guess what, you have to log in. I'm stuck in a death loop. I don't know what else to do but my business is suffering, please can anyone advise? Thanks in advance. Mike
How to change my contact details on my MS Onedrive account
I have long had an MS account which I use for One Drive and also pay monthly for extra storage. I want to KEEP everything as it is EXCEPT: my login for that account is (still) what was until recently my main email address and I have used it for almost two decades. But changes at my ISP which DID run the email service but no longer does that and the ISP has sold the email service to an outfit who are truly awful mean that I am in the process of changing my contact details, i.e. my contact email address, to a new bespoke address - I registered a domain name and use that for email. NB The new outfit took over in the spring and in taking over the server they LOST all my emails stored on it. I have since been able to track down half of them, but many important emails have been lost for ever. They are a disaster and I have to make serious changes and I very soon hope to ditch that old email address completely. That brings me to my question: I need to change the login and details of my One Drive account. But I HAVE to keep ALL the files store on One Drive as well as keep the storage space I am renting. Microsoft’s ‘help’ FAQ are worse than useless, confusing and send us round in circles. So could someone from Microsoft help me out and advise me? If you want more details, please get in touch. PS It does NOT help that when trying to post this, I get an error warning and highlighting in red a sentence but no indication as to what might be wrong.
Need help with scan-to-email function on printer
Exchange Online SMTP AUTH returns 535 even though SMTP AUTH is enabled I'm troubleshooting SMTP AUTH for a Ricoh MP C2011 multifunction printer that needs to send scanned documents through Microsoft 365. The Ricoh is configured for: SMTP server: smtp.office365.com Port: 587 STARTTLS/TLS SMTP authentication enabled Username: full Microsoft 365 email address The Ricoh consistently reports: SMTPC: username or password wasn't correct. [535] (5001) Initially I suspected the printer/network, but I have now reproduced the authentication failure independently from PowerShell. A direct SMTP test using Send-MailMessage against smtp.office365.com:587 returns: 5.7.57 Client not authenticated to send mail. Error: 535 5.7.3 Authentication unsuccessful The SMTP server is definitely reachable. Test-NetConnection smtp.office365.com -Port 587 succeeds. I also performed a raw SMTP/STARTTLS capability test. The server responds: 220 ... Microsoft ESMTP MAIL Service ready STARTTLS succeeds with TLS 1.2, and after TLS the server advertises: 250-AUTH LOGIN XOAUTH2 So the server is offering both LOGIN and OAuth authentication to my connection. Exchange Online configuration Using Exchange Online PowerShell: Get-TransportConfig SmtpClientAuthenticationDisabled : False AllowLegacyTLSClients : True For the test mailbox: Get-CASMailbox SmtpClientAuthenticationDisabled : False I explicitly set the test mailbox to: Set-CASMailbox email address removed for privacy reasons -SmtpClientAuthenticationDisabled $false and verified it returns False. There is no authentication policy assigned: AuthenticationPolicy : There is also no organization-wide default authentication policy: DefaultAuthenticationPolicy : and: Get-AuthenticationPolicy returns no policies. Security Defaults are disabled. Test mailbox To rule out the original mailbox, I created a completely new Exchange Online mailbox. I can log into Outlook on the web with this account. I tested: Normal mailbox password App password MFA enabled MFA disabled All combinations still produce the SMTP authentication failure. After disabling MFA on the test mailbox, the SMTP test still returned: 5.7.57 Client not authenticated to send mail. 535 5.7.3 Authentication unsuccessful So MFA does not appear to be the cause. Printer/network testing The Ricoh MP C2011 also produces the same type of 535 response. The network itself appears to be fine. TCP 587 is reachable, TLS 1.2 negotiation succeeds from the PC, and Microsoft returns SMTP responses. I also tested the legacy endpoint: smtp-legacy.office365.com The Ricoh eventually reached it but still received: 535 username or password wasn't correct. [535] (5001) Exchange Online reports: AllowLegacyTLSClients : True What I'm trying to determine I'm trying to understand why Exchange Online is rejecting SMTP AUTH LOGIN when: Organization SMTP AUTH = enabled Mailbox SMTP AUTH = enabled No authentication policy exists Security Defaults = disabled MFA disabled for the test account Test mailbox is valid and accessible through Outlook on the web smtp.office365.com:587 is reachable TLS 1.2 succeeds The SMTP server advertises AUTH LOGIN XOAUTH2 The main question is: What other Exchange Online or Microsoft 365 control could cause AUTH LOGIN to be rejected with 535 5.7.3 / 5.7.57 while SmtpClientAuthenticationDisabled is False at both the organization and mailbox level? I'm particularly interested in whether there is another tenant/service-side restriction on Basic SMTP authentication that isn't exposed through the usual Get-TransportConfig / Get-CASMailbox settings. The device is an older Ricoh MP C2011 and does not have an OAuth 2.0 SMTP option in its Web Image Monitor, so determining whether Basic SMTP AUTH is actually available to this tenant is important. Any guidance on additional Exchange diagnostics or commands I can run would be appreciated.Need help with scan-to-email function on printer
Exchange Online SMTP AUTH returns 535 despite SMTP AUTH being enabled I'm troubleshooting SMTP AUTH for a Ricoh MP C2011, but I can reproduce the same authentication failure independently using PowerShell. Exchange Online settings: SmtpClientAuthenticationDisabled (tenant): False SmtpClientAuthenticationDisabled (mailbox): False AllowLegacyTLSClients: True AuthenticationPolicy: None DefaultAuthenticationPolicy: None Security Defaults: Disabled The test mailbox has a Microsoft 365 Business Basic license. MFA was also disabled during testing. Connectivity is working: smtp.office365.com:587 is reachable STARTTLS succeeds with TLS 1.2 After STARTTLS, the server advertises: 250-AUTH LOGIN XOAUTH2 I then performed a raw SMTP AUTH LOGIN test. The server accepts the authentication sequence but rejects the credentials: 334 VXNlcm5hbWU6 334 UGFzc3dvcmQ6 535 5.7.3 Authentication unsuccessful Send-MailMessage produces the same result: 5.7.57 Client not authenticated to send mail 535 5.7.3 Authentication unsuccessful I have tested both the normal mailbox password and an app password, with the same result. The Ricoh reports: SMTPC: username or password wasn't correct. [535] At this point, I'm trying to determine why Exchange Online is rejecting AUTH LOGIN when SMTP AUTH is enabled at both the organization and mailbox levels. Could there be another Exchange Online or Entra setting blocking Basic SMTP authentication that isn't reflected by SmtpClientAuthenticationDisabled?Getting redirecting when access Microsoft Bookings

Account Recovery Methods
Trying to recover account for months with no luck. I had a old phone with the account still on it so I copied the subject lines and emails directly. This is the main reason I'm so confused why the system keeps declining me. I reach out to customer service and they can't even help as the system has no human interference. Solution? Keep trying or create a new email with them. I've seen smaller companies with better solutions, ridiculous.
