Validation rule for postal code is being ignored
In the SharePoint list, there is a column “Country” and a column “Postal Code.” A validation rule has been configured in the list validation settings to ensure that when the country “Germany” is selected, only postal codes with exactly 5 digits can be saved. Currently, this validation rule is being completely ignored. Regardless of whether the postal code contains fewer, more, or no digits at all, the entry can always be saved. The validation does not take effect. Expected Behavior: When Germany is selected in the Country field, the entry should only be saved if the postal code contains exactly 5 numeric characters. If the input is invalid, an appropriate error message should appear and prevent saving. Actual Behavior: The validation rule is ignored. All inputs — including invalid postal codes — are saved. No error message is displayed. Impact: Incorrect or incomplete data is stored in the list. Manual corrections are required afterward, causing additional effort and increasing the risk of errors. The english version of formule we used =IF([Land]="Deutschland", IF(LEN([Postleitzahl])=5, 1, 0)) Why doesn't the validation work? Thank you in advance for your comments !
PnP Search Results Handlebars template saves but does not reflect on UI
Hi everyone, I am working with the PnP Search Results web part in SharePoint Online and facing an issue where a custom Handlebars result template saves successfully but does not reflect on the UI. I created a table-style Handlebars template with columns Document, Region, Country, Language, Status and Validation Date, one row per document. Documents are returned correctly and filters based on the same refinable properties work as expected. Debug output using JSONstringify(item) confirms that all refinable values are present. The same if-condition logic using item.RefinableStringXX works in a list-style layout, but in a table layout the template saves without errors and either does not reflect on the UI or renders rows with empty metadata columns. Inline bindings do not render unless wrapped in if blocks and even after fixing this the UI sometimes continues to show the previous layout. Managed property mappings, selected properties, indexing and library reindexing have already been verified. Has anyone experienced this behavior with PnP Search Results templates or knows if this is related to caching, result types overriding templates or a known limitation with table-style Handlebars layouts?

Hi All I'm new here, I have a SP list that has an image column, it's an older list so the images are still stored in Site assets. It's the back end of a Powerapp. The problem I have is that some of the images won't render in some thumbnail sizes in my app. So some images render small, medium and large but not full and others render in small medium, full. I think it has something to do with when I updated a record in my app. but for now I would like to know how to repair the image column. I'm fairly sure it's Sharepoint issue, as when I select an image in the list, it sometimes does not preview as a large image. Hello, I'm experiencing an issue with a SharePoint list containing approximately 300 items. Each item includes 5 People Picker (PP) fields. In Microsoft Edge, some of these People Picker fields do not display their values correctly—this happens regardless of whether I'm viewing the list in list view, item view, or while editing an item. However, the values are stored correctly, and everything displays as expected when using Google Chrome. There is some JSON formatting applied to the list, but the issue persists even in new views without any custom formatting. The behavior is inconsistent: sometimes an entire row of People Picker fields is empty, and other times only one or two fields are missing. This issue affects multiple users. Here are the relevant environment details: OS: Windows 11 Enterprise Version: 23H2 Build: 22631.5335 Experience Pack: 1000.22700.1081.0 Microsoft Edge: Version 137.0.3296.62 (Official Build) Stable + Beta Channel (64-bit) SharePoint Online (E5 License) Has anyone encountered this issue or found a workaround? InvalidRequest Error for Attachments in Personal Microsoft Lists
Hello Community, I’m experiencing a persistent issue with Microsoft Lists (personal account, accessed via web on Windows 11 using Microsoft Edge). Problem: All attachments in my personal Lists return the following error when clicked: {"error":{"code":"invalidRequest","message":"Invalid request"}} This happens for both my oldest and recently uploaded attachments. This does NOT happen to NEW list items as of today and onwards I verified that attachments were successfully uploaded at the time, but now none are accessible. Age of my uploads stretch from 2023 to this time Environment: Windows 11 (fully updated) Microsoft Edge (latest version) Lists accessed via web (not the app) Personal Microsoft account (not work/school) No recent migration, rename, or permissions changes. Steps Tried: Renamed the list (removed special character “ø” from the name). Uploaded new attachments Checked that both my sub-items are inaccessible (attachment and personal attachment fields used separately from item to item. No double uploads) Checked OneDrive and Recycle Bin — no attachments visible. No access to “Site contents” since this is a personal account. Questions: Is this a known issue with personal Lists attachments? Are attachments stored in a hidden folder in OneDrive/SharePoint for personal accounts? If so, what is the usual path? Is there any way to recover these attachments or fix the invalidRequest error? Impact: I used Lists to manage and store receipts, and now all attachments appear broken. This is critical for my workflow. Any guidance or escalation would be greatly appreciated!
Creating a slide show from a list webpart- Brainstorming
I have a SP list that i want to do a slideshow onto a page. It's basically to showcase achievements with a column (yes/no) to filter. it's all text, no pictures, just to displaying what happened and want it to be automatic to scroll through. tried hero webpart, and that did not work. Used list webpart which of course just shows the whole list. Though about making an power app, but i couldn't figure out how it would be able to showcase each item on the list automatically with me creating a new screen every time one is submitted. Any suggestions will be useful. ty
SharePoint List - item visible but clicking on it does not open it in popup (similar to edit screen)
-this is a sharepoint online site (which gets created when we make ms teams channel) -there is mutliple list and libraries inside this sharepoint site -there is a list lets call that 'abc' list - it has approx 15 -20 columns- text, number, url, lookup , (nothing fancy, content types not there, just imagine a business user setup this list to put in some process relatged info..they are NOT sp advanced user ) -there are around 15 list items (yes very less items!) -approx 3-4 days ago he created those items in the list and when he click on the item (by clicking on title) it used to open in the default sharepoint pop up - this list has not more than 30 users with some has full control, some has read, some has edit-- mostly these permission are coming from sharpoint inherited groups , and list is still inheriting permission (active useres who contribute and view content in this list are just 3-4 people) -now the PROBLEM is when he click on the title to view items , nothing happens , no popup opens ---fixes we tried-- restart laptop -swithch browsers (tried on chrome and edge) currently using edge. removed this user from sharepoint site (he was residing in multiple groups), we removed him from every grp and deleted few grps as well now when we 'check' in the sharepoint permission-> it showed this user has 'none' permission then we granted him 'full control' again he was able to see items but cannot 'open' item, or 'add' is also not working for him he is however able to do 'quick edit' and enter new values we did hard refresh etc. we checked the default forms in list settings> form settings- it is default to sharepoint form (NOT power apps) we did other due deligence, but nothing seems to work for handful of people, however for other set of people the list is working as expected
