It seems that the Microphone when being used to remote into windows pc from MacOS Sonoma drops. Either in google meets, Teams meetings or using windows voice recorder when using the microphone from built in Mac Mic or USB microphones and remote into a a windows environment the microphone drops off. Giving an error that there is no mic if you close the application and relaunch the mic will be enabled but only for a short time then the Mic will drop again. Tested on M1 Mac mini and M1 MacBook Pro both running the Latest MacOS Sonoma and using Microsoft Remote Desktop Version 10.9.2 (2147) . tested by doing a Voice recording using Voice recorder and leaving on for 30 seconds , 45 seconds, 60 seconds up to 2 mins unable to determine the time interval it took but within these test the issue is reproduced. Any one with any suggestions on how to resolve this ?4.1KViews9likes8CommentsiPad support for Smart Card pass-through in RD Client
I previously replied to an older post (ipad-os-rdp-smart-card-using-function) requesting iPadOS RD Client support for smart card credential pass-through. The original requested never replied to answer which smart card device they were using on iOS (iPadOS in my case). I utilize RD Client on my iPad Pro to access my Azure Virtual Desktop work environment but am severely workflow-limited without this smart card pass-through functionality (unable to utilize signing, encryption, and PIV certificates maintained on my smart card). Multiple smart card devices attempted: - Thursby TSS-PK2 (firmware ver > 4.20) - Bluetooth 4.2 Smart Card Reader (from twocanoes.com) - FEITIAN iR301 Mobile Lightning Reader (from twocanoes.com) I can successfully use the above smart card devices individually on my iPad Pro (outside of RD Client) with the Safari web browser or integrated Thursby “Sub Rosa” iOS app but this leaves an incomplete workflow without full functionality. Please consider adding this functionality to your road-map.2.8KViews12likes10CommentsRD Client / Windows App Smart Card (CAC) Passthrough
Please enable smart card passthrough for the RD Client application. Government employees and contractors (and military active & reserves) now extensively use Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) to connect to sites requiring that a user be on the *.mil domain to connect. On top of requiring connection from *.mil domain, these sites are PKI enabled and require smart card (CAC) utilization for the authentication (PIV) cert. iPadOS has the CryptoKit integrated into the OS now, so there’s no reason for this functionality to not be available. PKI certs work natively with any generic smart card reader connected to USB-C and Safari/Mail. The certs even work through Edge browser on the iPad. Apple has made the CryptoKit available to all third party developers to utilize this function in their apps. Smart Card passthrough is the only way for users that are domain restricted to also use PKI on the iPad. This pass through feature works perfectly for my on my personal Windows PC, but I don’t carry my desktop around to coffee shops when I telework 🙂 Adding this feature will make the AVD a more palatable option for many clients that need to use these cards. Even my company utilizes AVD and I have a company smart card as well. - which is useless on my iPad. This deficiency is clearly not at the feet of Apple, as they have done the legwork to make the CryptoKit API available to all who wish to use it.2.5KViews1like3CommentsThe remote desktop cannot be connected using an ipv6 address
The remote desktop cannot be connected using an ipv6 address. When the remote desktop is connected using an ipv6 address, the "Starting Remote Connection" page is displayed forever, and the connection failure is displayed after a long period of time. After trials, Android phones were able to successfully connect to the same device using ipv6.2.4KViews0likes1CommentSync for Remote Desktop Connections
It would be really cool if the macOS and iOS clients of Microsoft Remote Desktop sync'd the remote desktops along with passwords via iCloud (or even some other service / mechanism, but iCloud preferred). I maintain a fairly large number of servers for clients and use multiple computers / iOS devices in my day to day work. It would be great if the Remote Desktop lists were in sync across all of my devices.2.4KViews15likes5Comments
