Hello Windows Server Insiders! Today we are pleased to release a new build of the next Windows Server Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) Preview that contains both the Desktop Experience and Server Core installation options for Datacenter and Standard editions, and Azure Edition (for VM evaluation only). Branding has not yet been updated and remains as Windows Server 2022 in this preview - when reporting issues please refer to "VNext" rather than Windows Server 2022 which is currently in market. What's New Server Datacenter Insiders! Take Terminal command line utility on Windows Server for a test run! Search for "Terminal" on the latest Server Datacenter Insider build and launch the application. Storage Replica Enhanced Log is now available in the latest Windows Server Insider build. Enhanced Log provides improved performance for block replication by removing file system abstractions – and their performance costs – from the Storage Replica log implementation. More info, and deployment instruction, is available on Learn: link. Known Issues If you are validating upgrades from Windows Server 2019, we do not recommend that you use this build as intermittent upgrade failures have been identified for this build. This build has an issue where archiving eventlogs with "wevetutil al" command causes the Windows Event Log service to crash, and the archive operation to fail. The service must be restarted by executing "Start-Service EventLog" from an administrative command line prompt. If you have Secure Launch/DRTM code path enabled, we do not recommend that you install this build. Available Downloads Downloads to certain countries may not be available. Thanks, ChermaineWanted to join Beta Channel, ended up forced to upgrade to Windows 11 Insider Preview, how to stop?
So, it all started with me wanting to join the Beta Channel for Excel since I wanted to have the new features available there. So, in Excel I couldn't find the Insider Button at Account menu even though I am a MS365 Subscriber. So, I thought I had to go to Windows Settings -> Update & Security -> Windows Insider Programme to use it. After I registered there, instead of showing me in Excel Beta Channel it now is downloading and installing Windows 11 Insider Preview, what I don't want and theoretically shouldn't be able to get since my processor is too bad, it tells me that in the same window at the right side. (I am currently on Windows 10 Home 22H2-19045.3324) I have already tried to leave the program and i am getting different response to that, the Windows Insider Programme in the settings tells me that I am still set to get Insider Preview builds and the Windows Update menu also. But when I click on Leave the Insider Programme in Windows Insider Programme it directs me to a page which says This email address is not registered as a Windows Insider.... And yes it's the same E-Mail address that's linked to the program and which was connected to the page that told me the E-Mail address is not registered. Also, Sidenote: Many buttons are not responding at all, clicking on fix the problem (see image) doesn't work, before that, changing Channels, adding E-Mail all did not work first time. And In Office clicking on Join MS365 Insider doesn't do anything either. This whole program seems verry unstable. My questions are: 1. How to undo all that so I don't must upgrade to Windows 11 Insider Preview 2. How to join Office Beta Channel the correct way?Solved4.1KViews2likes8CommentsAutomatic server detection not working: Unable to log in Skype Enterprise
Hello, I'm participating this insider preview since it's availlable to the public in May. For some unclear to me, when using the old Lync client we have to specify the server as "https://sipdir.online.lync.com:443" to be able to log. During the first half of the Skype for Business Mac Insider Preview, I was able to use the same custom setting to log and use the beta application. At some point, the interface of the beta app was completly redone, and now the setting is located behind the "advanced options" buton on the login screen. But since this version I'm not able to change the setting, because unchecking the "automatic server's detection" option disable the "save" button. I did some investigation to check why the default server detection is not working for my company. The default https://lyncdiscover.agentil.com have a certificate issue: "Host name lyncdiscover.agentil.com doesn't match any name found on the server certificate CN=*.online.lync.com.". My IT department told me they have no control over this certificate. Basically to be able to use the Skype for Business beta there is only two possibilities: 1) A future version allow the manual server setting to be saved. 2) Someone fix the certificate for https://lyncdiscover.agentil.com Any advice? Best regards, Shiva Thomas, from SwitzerlandFeedback wanted on the new Grouped View feature in Insider 16.20 release
Grouped View is a new feature available in the Insider build to help with the problem of seeing multiple conversations with the same person or groups of people in the Chats list. When you install Insider build 16.20, you will see an option at the top of the Chats list to choose between Grouped View and List View. When Grouped View is selected, all conversations with the same person or group of people are grouped together in the list with a header showing the person's or group's name. The list is still sorted chronologically, and the groups with the most recent messages are at the top. To see individual conversations and messages, expand the group and select the desired conversation. When you receive a new message, the group heading is bolded and marked with a red dot, similar to how conversations with new messages are marked. In the screenshot, Premal sent me a message, so the group heading and the conversation with the message are both marked as having new messages. List View is the same chats list as before. We want your feedback on this feature. Please post your suggestions and reactions here. If you see bugs, please report through the Report an Issue command on Help menu in the app so that we have logs to diagnose the problem. Thanks in advance for the feedback! Phil.Release notes missing for 16.11.115
