This is a copy of https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/c6ed0cc0-7957-ed11-a81b-000d3a7e4185 (I wrote that post first, but now I found this forum, which is more appropriate I think, since I'm using OneDrive for Business) My employer ship Win11 with OneDrive pre-configured to backup my Desktop (and more) to OneDrive. For performance, and if I'm offline, I've selected that all files and folders I keep on the Desktop should always be available on my device. Now my desktop looks like crap! Every icon now has an annoying little green dot on them. This sync status information on the icons is not important to me. In fact, it just bothers me. I already know all of the files/folders are always available on my machine. I don't need/want this visual reminder. I'm requesting a new option in the OneDrive settings, where I can configure OneDrive to not add the green check mark (nor the white cloud) to icons. For example, you could add: (*) Show the current sync status as a small badge on top of the icon ( ) Do not show the sync status as a badge on the icon ( ) Do not show the green badge on icons for always available files The first option is how it works today. In the second option, the user would like to opt out entirely from having OneDrive status-badges on top of icons. That is, completely stop OneDrive from messing with the icons. In the third option, only green badges are "muted", the rest work as normal. That is, files that don't have the always-available-on-device-attribute, will show the white little cloud badge, etc. But for files that are always-available, no green dot is added. PS: I'm only annoyed by the ugly badges on top of my icons. When I browse my files/folders in Explorer, then I'm totally fine with the Status column, indicating the sync status as per usual. This column should remain as-is.3.2KViews0likes2CommentsRemove 'desktop' links permanently
Hi All I already tried searching Google for it, but I can't find info on how to remove obsolete OneDrive icons from the desktop (Bureaublad). In this 'explorer' view I have in the tree the 3 working OneDrive folder links. However on the 'desktop' (Bureaublad) view I see old obsolete icons eg. 'CEAN B.V. (32 bits)'. When I right-click I get the option to delete (verwijderen) and it will be removed. It will however re-appear after refreshing the view. So how do I remove it permanently? Is it something in the Registry? If yes, where to look for it. I cannot find any settings in OneDrive itself. Thanks for any suggestion. With kind regards LudoSolved185Views0likes1CommentFavorites
This is intended as feedback not a discussion topic. I recently was forced at work to use the Microsoft Edge browser instead of Internet Explorer. The reason I was the most disappointed about the switch would be the inability to customize the favorites icons on my favorites bar. Microsoft should change the favorites bar to enable this feature. Also, they should add more icon choices. For those unfamiliar, in IE by right-clicking the icon and selecting properties, you could change the appearance of the icon.844Views0likes1CommentWindows Desktop - New Folder Type Feature
I'd love to see a new desktop icon/folder feature. Adding a specific type of New Folder that will only be displayed on your main/primary display desktop. The folder would always be visible on the main display and contain the icons that show up on all external monitors that are not flagged as the main display. That way, when a laptop isn't connected to an external monitor, those sets of icons are quickly accessible via the special desktop folder on your main display. You would no longer have a flood of icons when using only the laptop and when docked you have them at their normal positions.324Views0likes0CommentsI want to be able to group app icons on Start menu - Windows 11
for example I want to put PWAs icons in one group, put Photo related app/software icons in another group and so on. Ideally I want to do this by dragging an icon on start menu and dropping it on another icon to form a group - Windows 11 insider Upvote in feedback hub: https://aka.ms/AAdps2r26KViews27likes22CommentsIcons are not loading properly in SharePoint Online

Hello, I am developing a OneDrive client application, which allows to connect to OneDrive storage and get a list of folders and files. To present information to user in same view as OneDrive (web interface) provider needs to load specific resource icons. Microsoft Graph API doesn't provide direct links to icon asset. How I able to receive link to icon that OneDrive used for the specific file / folder (not thumbnail, but associated icon for file, folder)?
