Excel Does Not Sync Until Opened
I created a form linked to an Excel spreadsheet in SharePoint as well as a Power Automate approval flow triggered on submission. In addition to sending out confirmation/approval emails, the flow also updates the associated Excel spreadsheet with the approval/denial. The flow was working fine until last week but since then has failed 2 consecutive times. The failures appear to be related to the flow unable to find the automatically generated submission ID in the Excel spreadsheet. When I open the linked spreadsheet, the submission is not immediately present at first but the file does sync at that point and the entry appears. When re-triggered after the sync, the flow completes successfully. Not sure if it is related, but MS form/linked spreadsheets have been updated by Microsoft recently and I was prompted to go through an update process for synced Excel spreadsheets. I completed the update with this specific form last week after the flow failed for the first time. TLDR - my form only syncs with the spreadsheet once opened. Any ideas how to get MS Forms to update the spreadsheet in real-time as opposed to when it is opened?
Dynamically Importing Forms Data into Master Excel Spreadsheet - Need Help/Please Advise
Hello, I understand how to export the excel format from the microsoft form; however, it would be more useful if my master excel spreadsheet on my computer could dynamically update its data based on the microsoft form without the need for me to download the form every time. Is there a method for an excel sheet to access and import the form's data on a dynamic basis? I haven't seen any option for doing so. Forms is impractical for me to use as long as I have to manually download the form as an excel sheet to then import it into my master workbook. Pleas let me know if you have any solutions. we are currently working on creating a react component to view word, excel and PowerPoint files. I am wondering if Microsoft exposes any API's to extract all the data like text, images, graphs, tables from word/excel/PowerPoint files to develop our own individual component for those file types?
MS Forms won't sync data to Excel in OneDrive for Business
Hi I'm facing a huge problem. We are using MS Forms as a "simple" proces documentation tool in our production - it's brilliant for the propose. However, I have one major issue. For no reason whatsoever, the responses from the forms are no longer synced with the excel-files in OneDrive for Business (the forms where created through excel in onedrive). This has happened from one day to the other. I have tried to update ALL connections. Nothing happened. I have tried to force sync in OneDrive. Nothing happened. It has been 5 days since the last data sync, and I know for sure, that we're collecting data every 30 minut. I have the following clue; when I open the response page directly through MS Forms, and tries to watch the results in Excel (from link on response/result page) i get the following: "<username> has locked the projectfolder. Ask them to close or check the file." The excel files have not been changed or edited since they where created. I have tried this before, but ony with a 1-2 days delay of data sync between Forms-responses and Excel. All the excel-files sends the data to a PowerBI workbook that we use daily. Please help. If i needed to adjust the questions in my form how will the previous answers be affected? I need to rearrange some of the questions in my form (for vehicle maintenance) if i move the location of the answer will it affect any previous answers? I also need to sync the workbook that the form responses go to on share point to our vehicle maintenance excel spreadsheet saved on Dropbox to a historical sheet. How can I connect the forms so when new responses are submitted, they will auto populate a copy of the response to our Dropbox excel workbook on the correct worksheet?
Excel Responses error "The file is corrupt and cannot be opened"
I am getting this error when I try and save or open the Excel summary of responses in MS Forms. I have managed to work around by just repeating the Open / Save process until the error does not occur - but it is frustrating. Is this a bug? Thanks
