I'm using an application which has SSAS 2022 OLAP cubes at the back end. We are having an issue that whenever we restart the server or the service, the connections to the SQL Server that is the data source break. I suspect this is a consequence of SSAS CU1 behaviour where the connection string is encrypted, but - because they get encrypted - there's no way to identify what the change is. SSAS is on the same instance as the SQL Server. Before a restart, i've tried adjusting a few connection properties, notably Impersonation set to Service Account Trust Server Certifcate to True Encryption for data to Optional The connection works fine with these settings. However, post reboot I get a connection error whenver I try toprocess any objects: Errors in the back-end database access module. No provider was specified for the data source. We are using MSOLEDB19 so should be fine, but it seems that post reboot the encrypted connection is somehow misconfiguring. Appreciate any guidance on what could be happening here? I can't avoid restarting the server as org policy demands servers are rebooted every fortnight.123Views0likes0CommentsShow a notification when VPN connection disconnects on its own - built in Windows 10 connection
Show a notification when VPN connection disconnects on its own - PPTP/L2TP/SSTP/IKeV2 - built in Windows 10 connection There needs to be a notification when VPN connection automatically and silently disconnects on its own. when the VPN server drops the connection or something happens to the VPN server/connection, the VPN on Windows 10 silently turns off and user is not notified, that makes us use the non-VPN connection without us knowing and causes further issue for our work. the VPN connection I'm referring to is made through Windows 10 settings =>Network & Internet => VPN. so please add a notification so Windows notifies us when this happens. upvote this suggestion in feedback hub app: https://aka.ms/AAah9mgSolved8.4KViews2likes8Comments[Resolved] Windows Sandbox has NO Internet when the host is connected to a VPN

I've been testing and using this feature for as long as the new Edge has been around, without parallel downloading flag (edge://flags/#enable-parallel-downloading), the download speed is unbelievably slow, with the flag enabled, it's only slightly better. I don't know how many concurrent connections Edge makes to the download server with this flag on, but it's very broken. for example, download speed of a file in Edge is only 500 KB/s with parallel downloading on, with a download manager like Free Download Manager, the speed is 10x faster. I'm aware that this is depended on the network conditions of each user and my experience can't be universal and experienced by everyone, but the simply fact that a download manager with 6 to 8 concurrent (parallel) connections can fully utilize my Internet bandwidth, and Edge can't do this, is a problem. this is not something to be fixed with a simple browser reinstall or even related to OS. throughout the past 2 years I've done these countless times, literally. I'm sending feedback about it using the feedback button on Edge, if you're reading this and want download speed to be improved in Edge, please do the same and in the feedback URL add the link to this post for full description, thank you25KViews7likes10CommentsWindows should show a notification when VPN connection suddenly disconnects or drops
There is no notification from Windows when our built-in VPN connection (inside Windows) suddenly disconnects or VPN connections drops. it poses security risk as well as discomfort and other problems. there is a reason when user uses VPN connection, to stay protected, secure etc. so when VPN connection suddenly drops or disconnects for any reason, user must be notified. Show device's private IP address and Public IP address next to PC name in Windows Settings => System => Remote Desktop for faster and easier connection and usage. it makes sense to show them next to PC name, because remote desktop apps on other devices such as phones accept those 3 types of methods to find and connect to PC, but in Windows settings only 1 of them is shown. if you want to find the private IP address that DHCP gives you, you have to do extra work and get it from properties of network adapter etc. or to find your public IP address you have to use a 3rd party website or service. so, it all makes sense and makes things easier to have all 3 pieces of information right in the Windows Settings. I've tested this myself and have had other people test it in my presence too, and in different network conditions, having all 3 pieces of information is always useful and necessary for Remote desktop connection. Currently we have to use the system registry to change the Remote Desktop port, an easier way to do this would be to have an option in Windows settings =>System => Remote Desktop => Advanced Settings, under Remote Desktop port section, to do this. please add a text field with an apply button next to it to change Remote Desktop port. please upvote this feedback in Feedback hub, thank you: https://aka.ms/AAaetxu625Views0likes0CommentsTeams recording won't stop - new 4 hour recording every 4 hours!
I hosted a meeting, which I recorded. My organisation's internet connection dropped and we were forced out of the meeting. When I rejoined I had no option to stop recording - only start recording was an option. I thought we had lost the recording, however, 4 hours later it published. But every 4 hours since then it is publishing a new 4 hour video for an empty meeting (black screen, no audio). Nobody is left in the meeting. I have tried rejoining and ending the meeting, but still the recordings continue. Is there a way to force stop on recording an empty meeting?38KViews3likes18Comments
