I found a bug in Windows 11 when I opened a chrome profile, it shows up two profile icons instead of just one (see the screenshot). In Windows 10, it used to open with the bottom-right icon, but I think Windows 11 added a new place for the icon in the upper-right, but overlapping it with the old icon place instead of replacing it. Device and OS Spesification: Edition: Windows 11 Enterprise Version: 21H1 Build: 22000.100 Is it just for me or everyone else have the same problem? If so, I hope this bug can be fixed in the next update. Thank you.44KViews3likes19CommentsHowTo OMA-URI - something not working
Hi folks, i'm trying to experiment with OMA-URI within custom profiles. In this Use-case we're trying to achive, that we can manage Google Chrome Updates. Therefore i've downloaded the GoogleUpdate.admx and ingested it into the Intune custom profile. This is working, i'm able to see the admx at the clients registry under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\AdmxInstalled" as well as the corresponding, possible values under ..\PolicyManager\AdmxDefault. Well, this looks good. Now i want to add the first setting to the custom profile. I had a look in ..\PolicyManager\AdmxDefault and found the value "ChromeUpdate~Policy~Cat_GoogleUpdate~Cat_Preferences\Pol_AutoUpdateCheckPeriod". Afterwards i've build the oma-uri path like this: ./Device/Vendor/MSFT/Policy/Config/ChromeUpdate~Policy~Cat_GoogleUpdate~Cat_Preferences/Pol_AutoUpdateCheckPeriod What i really don't get: How to find out what value type (and what spelling) is required? In this case i think it should be Integer and e.g. 60 (for 60 minutes). Unfortunatelly this setting is marked as "remediation failed".Solved26KViews0likes19CommentsNEW feature: Edge now Officially supports Chrome Themes in the latest Update

So we are running into an issue that appears may be attributed to a Chrome update. I am looking to gather feedback from others to see if you are experiencing the same issues as us. When a user logs into O365 and they navigate to Project Online, they locate the project they want to view and then they try to open it using the MS Project Pro software installed on their system. The normal result is the project opens without issue. What is happening now is MS Project opens but the Project itself fails to open. The current workaround is to use IE. Have you experienced this?Solved16KViews0likes26CommentsWhat were the main reason(s) Microsoft chose Chromium over Firefox?
I just saw a post on my Twitter from EdgeDev and they said they contributed so much to the project. with hashtag #Opensource Open source is good but Chromium is not the only open source engine, There is Firefox, fully open source and it uses Gecko layout engine. it's been around way longer than Chromium, in fact it is one of the first engines that was ever created. So I'm both curious and really interested to know the logic and reason that why Microsoft chose Chromium instead of Firefox. hopefully we will see some official responses here too in addition to others ๐Solved15KViews3likes27CommentsTrying to clear Chrome cache and cookies using Intune
Hi guys! First time posting because I am at a loss and am trying to figure out how to do this. I need to clear the Cache and Cookies for Google Chrome on the computers on a schedule. I have Intune deployed on all of them, but I can not for the life of me find a way. The reason behind this is needing to clear them for the sake of our call center software that gets a bit clogged up when the cache grows to big. It's just one troubleshooting step for a bigger problem. Does anyone know of a way that I can clear the cache from chrome using intune on a schedule?14KViews0likes2CommentsEdge not receiving notifications when closed
This has been going on for months, it actually never worked and despite many posts from other users, it wasn't put on the feedback list to be fixed. I tried sending several feedbacks through browser as well in the last months. I hope someone manually give this a higher priority. here is the Chrome article about this: https://developers.google.com/web/ilt/pwa/introduction-to-push-notifications "Push messaging lets developers engage users by providing timely and customized content outside the context of the web page. It is one of the most critical APIs to come to the web, giving users the ability to engage with web experiences even when the browser is closed, without the need for a native app install." Currently Edge canary is Version 81.0.406.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) all the related flags (native notifications etc etc) are all tested and they have no effects.Solved13KViews6likes29CommentsHow to view and manage your Microsoft passwords on Linux/Chrome/ChromeOS (Without Edge or mobile)
1. install Google Chrome (or other Chromium based browsers, including Edge itself) 2. install Microsoft Autofill extension 3. Sign into your Microsoft account in the extension 4. Access your Passwords safely and hassle-free * you do Not need to sign in to Google account for this. ** this works on Mac and Windows too, basically any environment where you can install this extension in. The extension also has Import feature, so you can import your passwords at once from a file and save them to your Microsoft account. Questions & answers about Microsoft Authenticator app - Azure AD | Microsoft Docs Q: How are my passwords protected by the Authenticator app? A: Authenticator app already provides a high level of security for multi-factor authentication and account management, and the same high security bar is also extended to managing your passwords. Strong authentication is needed by Authenticator app: Signing into Authenticator requires a second factor. This means that your passwords inside Authenticator app can't be accessed even if someone has your Microsoft account password. Autofill data is protected with biometrics and passcode: Before you can autofill password on an app or site, Authenticator requires biometric or device passcode. This ensures that even if someone else has access to your device, they cannot fill or see your password, as theyโd be unable to provide the biometric or device PIN. Furthermore, a user cannot open the Passwords page unless they provide biometric or PIN, even if they turn off App Lock in app settings. Encrypted Passwords on the device: Passwords on device are encrypted, and encryption/decryption keys are never stored and always generated on-the-fly. Passwords are only decrypted when user wants to, that is, during autofill or when user wants to see the password, both of which require biometric or PIN. Cloud and network security: Your passwords on the cloud are encrypted and decrypted only when they reach your device. Passwords are synced over an SSL-protected HTTPS connection, which ensures no attacker can eavesdrop on sensitive data when it is being synced. We also ensure we check the sanity of data being synced over network using cryptographic hashed functions (specifically, hash-based message authentication code).9.9KViews2likes4Comments[FIXED] Why Edge on Android is using super old Chromium engine?
Edge on Android is now on the latest version, the same as Edge desktop, everything is new and up to date. https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/discussions/new-edge-canary-mobile-version-available-now-updated-chromium/m-p/2275690 I'm using Edge beta on Android 9. the Chromium version in it is version 77. right now the latest stable version is 80, Beta is 81 so naturally, just like Google chrome itself, Edge Beta should have Chromium 81 but in reality it is using a very old Chromium version 77. Why is that? p.s I detected the engine version using multiple websites that are made to detect browser engines in browsers.9.6KViews3likes11CommentsTab Grouping Feature! Google Chrome vs Edge Insider
Please look at this quick video I took, it's from Google Chrome Canary ver 79. https://streamable.com/60m98 Elliot Kirk the tabs look stunning, the colors look vivid and it expands to the top of each tab. real nice in my opinion. I would love to see the same thing in Edge insider canary.8.9KViews0likes10Comments
