3 TopicsTeams Live Events- Bitrate woes for Live Event and recording
I've been trying to find ways to improve the Teams Live events performance, mainly video quality / bitrate. However, I fear that there's a limit above which the quality cannot be improved. I even tested with an eCDN provider but viewers can never get more that 720p@1.5Mbit/s. I am puzzled. How can 720p@1.5MBit/s ever be enough? Even on a 14" Notebook it's almost impossible to read Excel table data let alone viewing it on a 27" or above screen. Moreoever, the Live Event recording suffers even worse. It's usually around 600KBit/s with 66Kbit/s for audio. This is way from being contemporary. I feel there's something fundamentally wrong and was wondering if it's still something wrong in our configuration or if you have the same experiences. Would love to hear your feedback.9.2KViews1like3CommentsLive events - Ways to improve performance?
Hi all, we've just gotten started with live events in Teams. Overall it's really neat how the interface works and all. However, we noticed that the the performance is abysmal. There is about a 15s lag between presenter and viewer. Moreover, the video quality is only about 575kb/s (judging from the recorded and downloaded video) and we can tell on screen that text is hardly legible. So I was looking into eCDN solutions but as ar as I understand this it will only help if a live event is viewed by many users from within the corporate network. Because currently, all our employee`s are working from home so an eCDN solution wouldn`t help here, would it? Do you know of any other things we could try to at least increase the bitrate of the live video? We have the total bitrate capped via Teams meeting policy at the default 50mbs/s and if we monitor the metrics during the live meeting we`re far from reaching that threshold. Thanks for your input.2KViews0likes0CommentsWhat's the ideal bitrate to render videos before uploading them?
Hi, we're planning on using Stream and I wanted to know since it uses ABR if there's an ideal bitrate for 1080p that we render our videos with before uploading them to Stream. An example is that I uploaded a 1080p video with a CBR of 4000Kbps. When I play it back on Stream it shows 1080p-478Kbps. Does it even matter with which bitrate I render the video? Thanks for your input.811Views0likes0Comments
