Is 30GB the limit and does that mean the VHD file itself is automatically about 30GB for a user? In Azure File Share for FSLogix the profies show about 29 GB does that mean it's actually the user populating it that much? If not then how do you determine if the profile size is too large and needs to be expanded for user or all users?14KViews0likes4CommentsTeams addin missing in Classic outlook in Azure virtual desktop
Hello Everyone! We have both classic and new teams installed in our AVD environment, Win11 Multisession. Since we have updated our AVD machines with the new image, we noticed that it does not have the Teams add-in in classic Outlook. We already checked in com-addins, but Teams was not listed there. Do any of you also face the same issue? Can you please help us understand how we can get the Teams Addin back in the classic Outlook? We are using the source image plan "win11-23h2-avd-m365," which has this issue. Please let me know if you need more information. Thank youSolved5.6KViews0likes9CommentsAVD Re-join AzureAD / EntraI
Hi everybody, I have an issue that I accidently did a "dsregcmd /leave" on my Azure Virtual Desktop machine. The environment is Cloud Only so I don't have an Active Directory onprem. As today everything worked good but I had to move the AVD to another subscription. The login for the users didn't work anymore so I tried differtent things and the last one was the dsregcmd /leave. One of the worst decicions of my life. Does anybody have an idea how I can rejoin this VM back to Entra without creating a new VM? There are several applications with many custom changes so that a new VM would be the worst. I tried dsregcmd /join /debug which ended in error code DsrCLI: logging initialized. Cannot start Task: 0x80041326 Failed to schedule Join Task. Error: 0x80041326 DeleteFileW returned 0x80070002. I tried dsregcmd /forcerecovery /debug which ended in the error code CAA50024 and DsrCLI: logging initialized. DsrCmdRecovery::DetermineIfRecoveryIsNeeded: DsrGetJoinInfoEx returned no join information. DsrCmdRecovery::DetermineIfRecoveryIsNeeded: Forcing return of S_OK instead of S_FALSE. DsrCmdRecovery::DetermineIfRecoveryIsNeeded returned 0x00000000 (NEED RECOVERY). DsrCmdRecovery::NotifyUser returned 0x00000000. The command az vm extension set --publisher Microsoft.Azure.ActiveDirectory --name AADLoginForWindows .. gave me an feedbach with "Succeeded" but did't change anything. How can I rejoin this device to Entra so that the users can login with their Entra Identities again? Because it is a multi-session-AVD I don't have the options to join this device to entra in Settings > Accounts..... I hope someone can help me with this problem.Solved4.6KViews0likes3CommentsApp Attach only working if the App is Installed Locally First
I am trying to use App Attach to provide an application to my virtual desktop environment. The environment is currently 100% Entra ID, no DS if possible. RemoteApp host pool with Standard_D4as_v6 VMs running Windows 11 24H2 multi-session (no office 365 apps). I am having troubles getting App Attach working as I understand it should. I packaged my app into MSIX on one of the session hosts via admin account. My app is self-signed with .PFX, each session host has the corresponding .CER file in Trusted People AND Trusted Root Certification Authorities (conflicting advice online led me to just do both). I converted .MSIX to .CIM disk via MSIXMGR on the same session host. msixmgr.exe -Unpack -packagePath "path\file.msix" -destination "path\file.cim" -applyACLs -create -fileType cim -rootDirectory apps I uploaded the .CIM file and the 6 supporting files to Azure Files Storage Account. All hosts have access to the azure storage account via access key, which I know is working because I’m using a different File Share in the same Storage Account to run FSLogix which has been working great. I haven't made any NTFS changes in my environment so far. On the storage account: Reader and Data Access is granted to Windows Virtual Desktop and Windows Virtual Desktop ARM Provider. Storage File Data SMB Share Reader is granted to each VM. Create App Attach resource, assigned it to the associated app group/workspace/host pool. I can see my app under the Apps tab in the Windows App/Remote Desktop app. Now into the Windows App: when I click my app, it will load forever on “Securing Remote Session…” and if I click “Show Details” to see the Windows login screen, it is always frozen on “Preparing Windows”. I’ve switched the host pool to “Desktop” mode and my user can log in to the full desktop with no issues, it is just the remote app that gets hung up. BUT if I log into the VM with my admin account, I launch my MSIX package, and approve the installation of my app, that makes it all work. Now I can go back to the Windows App and launch my remote app as a regular user, and it works perfectly. (Assuming I make the host pool assign the user to the session host where I manually installed the app) As far as I understand, this shouldn’t be a requirement to get App Attach working, so I’m looking for advice or information as to why manually installing the app would fix my problem. I am suspicious of the self-signed certificate; I’d rather not buy one but let me know if that’s what I’m stuck doing. I’m also curious if the “App-Attached” version of my app is running, or if its just targeting the locally installed version behind the scenes on me… I am going to do more testing and see if I can prove that. Thanks for the help!Solved1.4KViews1like10CommentsLatest Remote Desktop client not starting on W10 LTSB 1607
Hello. We're using about 50 thin-clients to connect to our AVD systems. The HP t530 thin-clients are running Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB / ver 1607 / build 14393 / RS1 and have the Remote Desktop client for Windows (msi) installed, with auto update enabled. This all worked fine until the most recent releases of the Remote Desktop client. Starting with version 1.2.6186 the app simply doesn't start anymore. There's no gui, no errors, nothing. Just for a few seconds the spinning blue circle next to the cursor. It does create msrdcw_xxx.etl files in %temp%\DiagOutputDir\RdClientAutoTrace, however i couldn't locate any obvious errors in it. Upgrading to 1.2.6187 does fixes the problem temporary (but that's probably because it's actually based on the older 1.2.6081 version). Upgrading to the latest releases 1.2.6188, 1.2.6227 and 1.2.6228 reintroduces the problem. It's not something in the thin-client image, also did a fresh Win10 1607 install with latest Windows Updates, same problem. Is there anything i can do or try, except blocking all future updates and staying on 1.2.6187?901Views0likes7CommentsMouse Click Offset Issue in Azure Virtual Desktop App on Windows 11 with Dual Monitors
We are experiencing a recurring mouse misalignment issue when using the Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Windows App on several Windows 11 clients. The problem occurs on devices with two external monitors and affects multiple users. Environment Windows version: 10.0.26200.6899 (Windows 11, 25H2) AVD Windows App: mainly version 2.0.757.0, some clients are on slightly different versions Hardware: Windows 11 PCs with two external monitors Display settings: both monitors at 1920x1080, 100% scaling Mac users (using the AVD app) report no issues Issue description The visual mouse pointer and the actual click position become misaligned inside the AVD RemoteApp session. For example, clicking on one item may select the item below it. This appears to be a rendering or coordinate-mapping issue within AVD when running inside the Windows App. Temporary workaround Minimizing the AVD window and then maximizing it immediately resolves the issue. This refresh/redraw action realigns the pointer and click coordinates. Questions Has anyone else seen mouse click offset issues in the AVD Windows App on Windows 11 25H2 with dual-monitor configurations? Are there known fixes, configuration adjustments, or recommended workarounds beyond the minimize/maximize redraw?800Views0likes3CommentsIssues with FSLogix Profiles
Hey guys we have a AVD environment with Windows 11 23h2 Multiuser session host's in a pooled Hostpool configured. The users are connecting via ThinClients with IgelOS and the AVD Client to the AVD Desktop. We have hybrid joined session host's which worked just fine till the 12th of December. We discovered that from different locations where the users are connected the have some issues with the FSLogix Profiles. It seems that the client lost connection to the session host when using short path with udp. then the users are trying to reconnect and get a temporary profile. There was no change currently. We were able to solve the issue with just create new session host with Hydra and remove the old ones. But the issue is getting back of course. In the logs in Azure I see the error: ShortpathTransportNetworkDrop The session host lost connection to the client because of an unexpected network error in the Shortpath transport. Check your network quality and configurations, then try again. Does anybody have similar issues or know what could cause that? I checked with our Network Team and they don't see any issues on their side. Many thanks for any feedback Best regards, Marc781Views0likes3Comments
