Mesh Avatars - Opening the doors of the workplace Metaverse in Teams
Welcome to 2022 and a new era of Microsoft Teams evolutions! With the introduction of the Mesh Avatars, I realized that we might have been stuck on gear one for a long time regarding IT collaboration tools. We will take some time in this article to discuss that, and I will do my best to share what I love about this new capability and what I wish we could improve. Is there a way to get profile pictures to show up in chats and posts
In slack, everytime someone posts or sends a direct message, their avatar or icon shows their picture. My clients want that feature. In Teams we can change our profile picture but chats and posts only show the circle with initials. How do I make chats and posts show the pictures? Issue with Microsoft Mesh App in Teams
Hi Everyone, I was wondering if anyone else has been experiencing issues with adding the mesh app into Teams? When trying to add to a meeting or channel, I press add and it brings up a blank screen. This happens in the new / old windows client as well as the web app. I have no issue in accessing the mesh windows app, and have had several meetings through here, as well as on a meta quest device.
Teams No Longer Showing Options to Choose a Background or Blur the Background
Windows 10 22H2 Teams v1.7.00.3653 Tried clearing Teams cache Tried uninstalling/reinstalling Teams completely (removed via Programs and features the went into my user profile and cleared the junk left behind) Tried Teams Classic, Teams for Work or School, New Teams, Old Teams... I even tried Teams Premium. I also tried making changes within the Teams admin console for Microsoft 365. All of these were equally (un)successful... Tried Windows updates Backgrounds used to work. A user at my organization reported the issue last month. I tested and found that I have the same issue. I have no idea when the issue occurred and I can't tell you if it was an update that caused it. I even tried populating the New Teams backgrounds location with a background from the Microsoft website. Without the option available to select it, there is no way to add it. Also per my comment at the top, I do not have the option to blur the background. Is there a registry entry that maybe got lost that I can recreate or some files and or folders that I can dump into the Teams files within AppData? I am grasping at straws. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Teams GROUP CHAT AVATARS
This is regarding Microsoft teams. It would be extremely helpful to have group chat avatars for businesses who have numerous chats. Skype had this option which allowed users not to be confused which chat needs to be responded in. This is one of the many features that are needed for many companies and users. Please fix it asap! The new Microsoft teams beta, still doesn't allow us to do this feature and it really is needed!! I cannot stress this enough, fix it!!!Quicker access to animated avatar reactions?
Animated avatar reactions are neat, and I appreciate that the default reactions (like, love, applause, laugh, surprised) also animate my avatar. However, the other reactions are too hard to get to, even the five others I may have pinned. I still must hit the “⋯ More” toolbar button and then “Effects and avatars” from the drop-down menu, then click on a pinned reaction. And the other reactions are buried even further, under “⋯ Show all” and a choice of seven categories. Is there a quicker way to get to these? They’re reactions, after all, and a noticeable delay during a meeting is awkward.Avatars
I am looking to enable the option to use Avatars in Teams for our organization and wanted to set up a policy where a few people can test by having access to the Avatar app. When I go to apps and search, I don't even see the Avatar app in our instance - whether blocked or not. Here’s a summary of our needs: 1. Monitoring Actual Presence of Employees: we struggle to accurately determine the physical presence of our collaborators during the workday. We're interested in finding out if there are any policies or add-ons that can integrate with Teams to provide more precise indications of presence. 2. Detecting the Actual Status of Employees: we often find that the automatic presence status in Teams does not accurately reflect an employee’s real availability. We would be interested in discovering tools that improve this functionality, perhaps through more sophisticated integrations that consider real calendar commitments. 3. Improving Cooperation and Work Group Organization: we are looking for solutions that can facilitate better organization of common activities and enhance the effectiveness of communication. 4. Recreating Typical In-Person Work Situations: with the increase in remote work, we want to implement tools that help recreate the spontaneity of face-to-face encounters, such as virtual coffee breaks or spaces for casual meetings. We are open to exploring Mesh for Microsoft Teams but also other solutions that might include specific add-ons or policy configurations that enhance these functionalities.
