I am currently on Windows 11 Build 22504.rs_prelease.211112-1650 and whenever I use Microsoft Teams Desktop (Version 1.4.00.29469 (64-bit), last updated on 2021-11-06) with my Taotronics TT-BH22 headset, I cannot hear anything from the headset's speakers in the call unless I use the headset's microphone. The two problems with using the headset's own microphone are that The audio quality becomes very poor for no reason I want to use my external Blue Yeti microphone instead of my headset microphone. The above picture is what I would like my Teams audio setup to be, with my Taotronics headphones as the speakers and my Yeti as the microphone. With this setup in a Teams call, although I can notice sound being played to my Taotronics via the sound control panel (see image below), I do not hear it. So I effectively cannot use my external microphone in Teams because I have a bluetooth headset mic, and when I use the bluetooth headset's microphone in Teams, the sound on the headset works, but it is of very poor quality. I have tried disabling the headset mic, but that doesn't fix the issue, as I still can't hear anything from my headphones. I've been able to use Teams on the browser without an issue, but I need the features on Teams Desktop since the browser version is limited.Solved54KViews5likes23CommentsBlasts of white noise when using Jabra Evolve 75 SE headset.
When in a Teams call or Teams meeting after a couple of minutes I get a very loud blast of white noise in my headset. The blast is continuous and sometimes I can just about make out speech noises in it. Othertimes speech is audible but garbled like it's been scrambled somehow. If I leave and rejoin the meeting it is okay for maybe 30 seconds or so and then happens again. If I switch to another audio device (eg Laptop internal mic/speakers), even without leaving the meeting it all works fine through that device. Switch back to the Jabra and I get blasted eardrums within a minute or so. This only happens when using the Jabra, and it happens regardless of whether it is a USB, Bluetooth or JabraLink connection. The Jabra works fine with Zoom, and works fine as a bluetooth headset on my iPhone. No issues there. Only with MS Teams on Win11 System running Windows 11 Pro 10.0.22631 This headset is certified for MS Teams. Teams Software last updated 14th Oct 2024 Jabra headset with latest firmware.243Views0likes0CommentsUnable to select microphone or speaker device in Microsoft Teams (Windows 10)
Microsoft Teams is currently unable to make/receive calls due to the app being unable to set a Microphone or speaker device. The 'Audio Devices' profile within settings is set to 'Custom Setup' and no other option is available in the drop down (screenshot attached). When try to continue using the custom setup, no devices are available as the drop-downs are unclickable (screenshot attached). Other useful info: OS: Windows 10 - latest Microsoft Teams Version:1.2.00.24753 (64 bit). It was last updated on 22/09/2019. I have uninstalled and re-installed teams. Audio devices work fine in all other applications No other application is using the devices when Teams is being tested.Solved602KViews6likes58CommentsPersistent Sound issue Teams
After some troubleshooting, and hearing that multiple of my colleagues have the same issue, I thought I'd share here. It basically kills teams as a conversational tool for me, and it appears to be a specific teams issue. Issue: Upon entering a call/teams-meeting all sound cuts out from all playback devices. The moment you leave a call, sound works again and you even hear the 'hang up' sound. Observations: It seems to block all sounds, I've tried with 2 separate BT devices. It blocks sound out, but the system appears to register sound unabated. The green bars in the volume mixer still go up and down for every application, including teams. To confirm this I made a loopback recording, and the sound is still registered by the system. Teams seems to make some sort of windows-override between the software and the hardware layer. Stops the moment you 'leave' the call, so it is an override that only occurs once you enter a call. Even if I choose the option 'join without audio', the issue happens. Only the desktop app affects it, the teams web interface doesn't make the issue. What I've tried: Rebooting worked once, but than the issue recurred after a few minutes Rebooting again stopped working to resolve the issue Re-installing sound devices make no difference, issue persists Re-installing teams once managed to solve the issue, but it recurred after a few minutes Re-installing teams stopped working to resolve the issue Switching or selecting different playback devices makes no difference. Disabling, or removing sound editing application (NVIDIA Broadcast) makes no difference.1.7KViews1like1CommentAudio issue with one particular user
Hello, I'm having a very odd issue with one of my coworkers. Any call my coworker is in with me, I have a tough time hearing him, his audio gets very muffled and cut off, but none of my other coworkers have this issue when they are in the same meeting. This happens when I'm in a one-to-one meeting with this coworker or a large group meeting with the coworker. It does not seem to happen when using my iPhone for the call, only when using one of my two laptops with my Bluetooth headset. Has anyone seen anything like this before? It's becoming very unproductive. I need to use live captioning anytime he's on a call to get an idea of what he is saying. My coworker has tried using his AirPods and his laptops mic/speaker and it doesn't seem to make a difference for me.989Views0likes1CommentTeams fails to use selected audio devices until they've been swapped off and on
I only ever use my Bluetooth headset (USB Link) for my computer. The headset is the default choice for audio and mic. Nearly every time I load into a meeting, it shows my headset audio/mic as the selected option, but the audio through my headphone is distorted and my mic, shown as not muted, does not put out any audio. If I go into the device settings and swap to my laptops speaker/mic, wait 3 seconds, and then swap back to my headset, THEN the audio is crystal clear and my mic works. How do I get Teams to actually recognize my default device so I'm not wasting people's time for a min every time I join a meeting?1.4KViews0likes2CommentsMicrophone not working on Windows 11. Not an issue with other applications
Sound Recorder and other apps do not have a problem with the microphone. However, Teams keeps saying microphone not working. Get "call me back" message when I join a meeting. Test call did not help. It seems to record but playing blank message back. Multiple times re-installed it. Any ideas?Solved1.9KViews0likes4CommentsBad audio when using NDI / virtual sound cards
In a nutshell - we are using NDI / V Mix and this is the audio quality that hits the stream. Now before anyone asks - it is 100% an issue with teams as the audio is clean on WebEx and Zoom. Its coming in via NDI or V Mix audio. We've tested it on a microphone input too and its just as bad. Is there anything going wrong with MS teams gate / compression on audio transport? Im trying to use this on a pro level3.1KViews0likes2CommentsSilence when adding a third party to Teams call
We have an issue with a user (a Director) where if he adds someone to a running teams call e.g. connected to another employee and adds in HR person, then all sound is lost for 4 minutes or more. If the user creates a meeting then all is ok, even adding a new person mid meeting. We have run Teams updates, updated to the latest audio and video drivers and tried a the same senario with different users on the same devices and it works ok. Has anyone got an ideas please, its a real head scratcher. Thanks1.1KViews0likes1Comment
