I use this browser with two MS accounts. The techcommunity does not let me choose the user account to sign in with! I'm forced to open a private window to sign in and write this feedback. So when clicking Sign In, it thinks I want to sign in with my M365 company account, and asks me to accept certain permissions. However, I want to sign in with my personal MS account. So I click cancel and get redirected to the home page. So, in order to visit the site with my personal MS account, must either use a private windows, or clear every single cookie for every single Microsoft domain, which is also NOT what I want to do. This is simply unacceptable and driving me away from using the techcommunity at all! I made a video for you to show you how broken the sign in flow is: https://i.imgur.com/KnxnPKM.mp425KViews6likes17CommentsWhat’s New in the MTC? September 2023 – Community Ranks
Our Mission at the MTC is to provide a community Microsoft users can get the latest news, ask questions, learn new skills, and connect with peers and Microsoft experts from around the world. This month, we are rolling out a new ranking system designed to recognize users’ contributions to the community and add a little more ‘Microsoft’ to the MTC. What are the Community Ranks? We now have two ranking ladders to recognize both types of our tech community members. We have our Contributors Ranks for those who come to the MTC to interact and ask/answer questions in our forums, blogs, and events. Some of you Microsoft gamers may notice the subtle nod 😉 Contributor Ranks Onyx Contributor Titanium Contributor Diamond Contributor Platinum Contributor Gold Contributor Silver Contributor Bronze Contributor Steel Contributor Iron Contributor Brass Contributor Copper Contributor And for our members who come to the MTC to catch up on news and learn something new from the blogs, we have our Reader Ranks! These are replacing our Visitor/Member ranks, and once you start posting in the MTC, you will move into the Contributor Ranks. Reader Ranks Senior Reader Prolific Reader Regular Reader Frequent Reader Casual Reader Occasional Reader New Reader (Please note that these rankings are intended for fun and are not a measure of MTC’ers technical competence.) What goes into the Community Ranks? When you become a member of the MTC, you start climbing the ranking ladder, starting as a New Reader. As you contribute more and more to the community, you will start to climb the rank ladder. Here are some of the key ingredients that go into our ranking recipe (*These points are awarded each time an activity is completed): Viewing messages (0.25 points) Commenting on blogs, ideas, and TKB articles (1 point) Creating new discussion topics (1 point) Replying to forum discussions (2 points) Giving (2 points) and receiving Kudos (4 points) Contributing Ideas (5 points) Authoring blog articles (10 points) Publishing Knowledge Base articles (10 points) Getting your replies marked as a solution (15 points) Simply put, the more you engage and interact with the MTC, the more points you earn and the higher your community ranking will be! If you have any questions on these new rankings or you’d like to share feedback with the Tech Community Team, let us know in the comments below.12KViews37likes57CommentsHow to unban my account?
Hi! My account has been banned from Microsoft Tech Community, which I believe was a mistake. My ban was due to "external ads/links not allowed on Tech Community." But I had posted only two comments, both relevant to the questions and containing links that could have provided a solution. I also saw a lot of different answers with links, and they were not banned. So, it makes me think that ban was an accident. Moreover, I did not find any rules, that I could have broken. I'm now seeking assistance on how to unban my account. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.Solved6.1KViews2likes8CommentsMicrosoft Certified Trainer (MCT) Program Questions

I need advice consolidating Microsoft accounts and organising aliases. I have a personal account knwright.xxx.xxx. I have an Office 365 subscription with that account. I opened another Microsoft account with email address pamesitoni.xxx.xxx for our small business. It does not have an Office 365 subscription. I decided it would be simpler to consolidate the two accounts and use pamesitoni.xxx.xxx as an alias email address instead. I closed the pamesitoni account and added the email address pamesitoni.xxx.xxx as an alias to my knwright account however email sent to pamesitoni.xxx.xxx would not appear in the knwright inbox. Although aliases I set up (e.g. soqulu.xxx.xxx) would. I assumed the reason for this was because the account was in the 60-day period before pamesitoni was closed and that I needed to forward emails from pamesitoni.xxx.xxx to knwright before the account was formally closed. So I reopened the pamesitoni account and setup forwarding knwright.xxx.xxx to but still no email for pamesitoni.xxx.xxx appeared in the knwright.xxx.xxx inbox. I also setup an alias email soqulu.xxx.xxx in the knwright account, but later removed it. Now I cannot add it back to the knwright account (I read that if you "Remove" an alias you also delete the email address forever. If so, why does Microsoft not warn of this?) I need advice on the best options for me now. I would like to have all email addresses consolidated under account knwright. However if that is not possible I would like to setup pamesitoni.xxx.xxx and soqulu.xxx.xxx under pamesitoni. Please let me know if anyone can help.2.7KViews1like6CommentsHackers keep getting prompting me for a code on authenticator
Hello, I'm noticing that I get a random prompt for a code on the Authenticator app whose location appears to be in the Netherlands. I'm under the impression that these hackers just try logging into numerous accounts hoping that their victims will unknowingly push on a confirmation number and let them in. Is there a way to help prevent this? I would imagine that preventing logins based on unusal locations would help stop it but would like to hear your take. Thanks!1.9KViews0likes3Commentsswitching organizations - how do to keep my post history, rank, etc
Is there a way to maintain your post history, rank, contacts etc when switching organizations? I'll be moving on from my existing organization and would like to transfer my current Tech Community account from my existing org > personal gmail account for a few weeks > new organization. Is there any way to do that? I tried the steps in the FAQ, but that doesn't seem to apply to an org switch. In Settings, I changed addresses in both the Email (received and verified) and Personal Information sections.1.5KViews0likes3Comments
