I have connected a sharepoint Library to my Access Database front end for storing documents. I can open the documents no problem from the Access front end, but if I change any value in the columns I have created in the SP library I get an error that tells me I must enter a value in the Name column. The name column as it appears in the access database appears empty, and also locked so I cannot enter data. But when I go to the sharepoint library in a browser and look up the name column I can see it has a value, and the value is the file itself. Has anyone seen this error before? And is there a known workaround?585Views0likes0CommentsSharePoint - Convert a list with attachment to a document library
I'm working on my skills but still have a long way to go - I hope someone can help me with this: In SharePoint I have a List with agreements with lots of columns and one of them that are used is Attachments. I want to move this into a Document library instead. Done so far: I have a flow that picks the attachment from the list and create each attachment as a document in a SharePoint document library. BUT I would also like to bring in information from other columns, as contract owner, expire date, reminder date and so on. Is there someone here that knows how to do this? The full picture is that the source is Microsoft Access in an on-prem environment so if you suggest me to start from this source instead of first migrate it into SharePoint as a List - just let me know 🙂 It's a really large number of agreements so nothing you want to do manually at all.SharePoint Access Requests
Hi Reader, I'm having team site, with below settings even I configured as shown above. site owners aren't getting access requests except me(who created the site). even i tried adding the users to Site Collection admins but no luck. am i missing any configuration settings here ? how can all the site admins can receive the access requests ?808Views0likes0CommentsMicrosoft Look Book template deployment
I don't know if this is the right forum for this but I have just learned that, while the LookBook website indicates that only tenant admins are to be able to create sites using the templates, an E3 licensed user with no admin roles just created his own Comm site without any issue or assistance and I, as the SharePoint and TEAMS administrator had no idea he did so. Our company has strict rules about who can create along with naming conventions, etc. to follow when creating and he was able to bypass ALL of it. I'm not faulting the user, I am faulting Microsoft's verbiage and/or security. Either the website is erroneous when it says only admins can create/use the templated or there is a security/management breach going on for this. I am VERY concerned at what this means for our company: it will be Pandora's Box is a blink of an eye. Please, would someone please explain what is going on and how I can stop this from being something anyone in my tenant can do? QUICK!2.7KViews0likes1CommentCopy of Sharepoint list
Hi, I tried to make a backup of a Sharepoint-List with Acces and i created accidentally a new list in Sharepoint with the same URL, same ID and all the same data from the another one. Now if i create or delete an item in one of the lists it will be also created/deleted in the another one. How can i delete the Mirror-list in Sharepoint? I need to delete one of them, because if not, i can not connect power BI with that list (Power BI show me the following error: The key matched more than one row in the table.) URL of both lists: i would be so thankful if someone can help me with that issue! Best Regards Sebastian766Views0likes0CommentsSpecific User Can't Access Specific List Rows
Hello! I can go into specifics later if need be, but I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what could be causing certain people to not be able to see certain rows within a SharePoint online list? The user right now in question has the permissions she needs to view and amend items in this list, and the missing row(s) in question do not have unique permissions, so there is no reason that I can think of preventing her from being able to see, access and amend these particular rows. Note that it's not solely a visibility thing; when I send her a direct link to one of the items in question, she gets the below error, of which the general gist seems to be that the row has "been deleted or renamed by another user". Yet myself and many other people can see this entry and can access this link just fine. Note that I confirmed she has no filters on, if that would make a difference. And I got her to check the recycle bin for the list in case - somehow - that item had been removed for just her somehow. No luck though. For some reason, a particular user(s) cannot see or access a particular row entry(s). Has anyone seen this type of issue before or have any thoughts? Thanks if so.2KViews0likes3CommentsConnect Access Database 2010 to a sharepoint list
Hello, Having a limited knowledge on SharePoint, I would like to ask you if there is any way to connect an Access Database with a SharePoint list. I have a query already built in Access Database 2007-10 and which I would like to link it with a SharePoint List. So every time that a new raw data is added in Access Database my SharePoint list to be automatically updated. Is there any way of doing it? Thanks for your help860Views0likes0CommentsAttachments don't download in a Sharepoint list created from an access database
Hello all, I have an Access database with attachments column and the access database has over 160 entries. When I moved the database to sharepoint, the attachments column shows up and each cell shows an attachment symbol in the classic sharepoint view (that's how users will see the list). When I click on the attachment, nothing opens up or downloads. What could be the problem here? Any ideas / suggestions would be appreciated.786Views0likes0CommentsDisabling Edit Access to a List Item Attachment?
I have setup a list in SharePoint Online where users are able to create a request (as a list item) and attach a supporting document. Once this supporting document is attached and the list item is created, I need edit access to that attachment to be disabled. This prevents them from going back to the list and secretly modifying things to the document after submission. It's a really important feature that we absolutely must have, does anybody know if this can be done? Thanks1KViews0likes1Comment
