Respected Madams/Sirs, I am facing a very unexpected problem while updating to Windows 11 Insider Preview Feature Update (26220.7051), which encounters an error and says, "couldn't extend system reserved partition". My disk has a lot of free space available, but the EFI, of course, was full with 6mb left, so I had to extend its capacity. To fix this, I tried numerous methods, but they eventually proved fruitless. Tried extending the EFI size (currently 100 MB) using GParted, but couldn't, so created a new EFI with a 500 MB size. Executed the necessary steps and commands to make sure the computer used the new EFI as its primary EFI. The computer boots using the new EFI, but the update error hasn't gone. Tried clearing unnecessary files from the original EFI. Nothing worked. Tried cleaning my hard disk, which of course might not be the key for this since the error is related to EFI, not the hard disk itself. Still, nothing worked. To put it short, I may have tried every method possible, but nothing has worked. I urgently require assistance. My current Windows version is Windows 11 Home, version 24H2, OS build is 26120.6982, on a Dell Inspiron Laptop Please help. Thanks!537Views4likes4CommentsWindows 11 Insider Preview Update Progress Issue
I tried to update and install one Windows update, but it keeps on showing as 0% or 8% and it is not progressing after 8%. I tried necessary trouble shooting steps like pausing the update for some time and then trying again. But it didn't work out. The update that I trying to update and install is "Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Insider Preview (KB5067103) (26220.6780)" It shall be great if anyone respective person can assist me with this issue.99Views1like3CommentsDoes Surface Diagnostic Toolkit fail to recognize my Surface because of its Insider OS version?
My Surface Pro 9 Surface "SMF Core Driver" does not load. In troubleshooting it, I discovered Surface Diagnostic Toolkit does not recognize my hardware as a Surface device, and the downloadable driver package will not install for the same reason. Is any of this a consequence of my having the current Insider Release Preview OS?56Views0likes2CommentsUnable to reset my PC
Hi Insider Community, Hope y'all doing great! I am currently facing an issue while trying to reset my PC. After clicking on the reset my PC button from the recovery menu, I am redirected to the system permission dialogue box. After clicking yes on it, I choose the keep my files option but it shows an error right after that saying someone could be controlling/modifying my files. It seems really odd to me after seeing this error here so I am reaching out for a solution now. I started having this issue in December, and finally had a time to try and resolve it today. I contacted support and they said since I'm in the Windows Insider Program, the only support is through this forum. Camera and Audio In early December, my camera stopped working in both Teams and Zoom. Didn't think much of it at the time, but it is persistent, and now I'm doing all my video calls on my iPad. File Explorer - When I click on File Explorer, my display flashes for a second and doesn't do anything. I can get to my files by opening up Control Panel, and then hitting the up arrow to get to my folders. Corrupted Files - I ran a scan in the command prompt (sfc /snannow) and received the following messages (Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.) - I have the log from today Repair Not working - I went through a whole repair process and tried to reinstall the bad files, but that failed. I almost bricked my OS and lucky to be back where I am. I joined windows insider, and before I start I wanted to note originally only wanted to be in the beta, not the DEV or CANARY builds as I am a beginner. However, at this moment in time, the DEV build downloaded and this build is trying to install, I have clicked download/install multiple times and it takes forever, (I know it takes time but normally is much faster on my device) but when it finally hits 100%, it requests the restart for the update process, whenever my system is rebooted windows update says "Attention Needed" and the install failed. Yet-- when I go to update history this is what shows: Here is what my insider page looks like currently for note: So I am confused and frankly would either like to get this update install gone, or just the beta. Any assistance would be very much appreciated, especially since I am a newbie.3.1KViews0likes3Comments
