75 Topicsto big title bar in Office 365 update 2408
Hi all, since a couple of days I have to work with the ugly, annoying, awful, ... user interface in Office 365. The title bar size became horrible large. Compared with an explorer window from Win 10 it is nearly the double height. As an Office Poweruser (I'm working with the office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) unluckily the whole day) I'm looking for smallen the title bar again. There was a registry hack, but on my machine this isn't working anymore. Because of the ribbon interface and a lot of not needed functions this is how my Quick Access Toolbars (QAT) are looking like: Now somebody could tell my, "OK, switch the QAT to the top, so that the title bar get more sense! Problem is, that the monochrome icons are absolutly boring AND especially for Word I can't differ between my macros, which I set with different colours. The title bar is smaller because of the standard buttons and the search field, so that not all my most loved commands have space here Dragging the window can not be done with the title bar, as it was since the beginning of time. I need to find some space somewhere. Does someone have an idea to reduce the size of the title bar as it was before? Or does someone have an idea to colorize the icons, when they are inside the title bar? If I consider that the taskbar is also increasing in size, especially in WIN 11 where this isn't adjustable, both sides (top + bottom) in sum are steeling to many space. Cheers! Hi, we have an issue with at least 4 different computer configurations where an embedded .mp4 movie in a PowerPoint presentation crashes when scrubbing in the playback bar. The problem occurs only in the edit mode of PowerPoint. There is no problem in full screen mode (after pressing F5). PowerPoint version is the latest (Microsoft PowerPoint for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2212 Build 16.0.15928.20196) 64-bit). The biggest commonality between these machines seems to be the Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics unit. It occurs regardless of the operating system (both Windows 10 and 11, latest updates). The problem does not occur when the integrated GPU is disabled via Device Manager on a laptop with an additional dedicated GPU. Intel driver as well as system drivers are up-to-date. Both Dell (manufacturer of the laptops) and Intel support (integrated GPU) were contacted, but referred to contacting Microsoft as they did not find an issue on their end. Since this is a major problem for us when editing presentations, is there any way to install an updated driver or work around the problem? Any help would be appreciated.4.2KViews2likes7CommentsMicrosoft Defender for Endpoint -> Reports-> No data Available status

Running Office 365 Outlook on a Lenovo laptop and Windows 11. Hey All, I have successfully installed multiple Gmail accounts to Outlook on two different personal computers [Computer#1 (C#1) and Computer#2 (C#2)]. I am trying to install Gmail account #3 (GM#3) on my new computer (C#2) but failing. It is already installed on C#1. As a test, I just uninstalled and reinstalled on C#1 without a problem. Both computers are Lenovo laptops. I have tried the advanced options "set up my account manually", including both Gmail the and IMAP options with the same result: I get the Error Message: "We couldn't log on to the incoming (POP/IMAP) server. Please check your email address and password to try again." The troubleshooter says "Outlook desktop (MAPI) is disabled for this user's mailbox." (My little bit of research into gmail indicates that MAPI does not support MAPI.) Where I think the trouble started: In the process of installing GML#3 on C#2, I flubbed up. I had a Chrome window open under a GM#2 account and during the installation I opened a Chrome window logged into GM#3. I think (but am not positive) the Chrome's Outlook verification procedure seemed to start in the GM#2 Chrome window and finish in the GM#3 chrome window, but it was not successful in Outlook. Most solutions I have found involve deleting the account from Outlook and starting over. However, the GM#3 account has not been installed in outlook so there is no account to delete. Each time I go to install GM#3, it searches for accounts and provides GM#3 as an email address for me to select. Either automatically or manually, it does not prompt me for a password and there is nowhere I can find to confirm the password is properly entered or change it. Because Outlook seems to be holding on to information about the account and password, I conclude it has some information on GM#3 in cache or somewhere in the system. I did a complete delete of all the local Outlook cache (the process I followed indicated this would not delete information that has already been moved to the server--appended to the end of this message). On C#2, I have also deleted all the email accounts and the Outlook profile and reinstalled them but it still seems to hold onto the GM#3 email address and I assume the password (since it never prompts me for the password). As near as I can tell the settings for the GM#3 account on the corresponding Google Chrome account are the same on C#1 and C#2 -- but I have not checked every single one of them (checked "Labels" and "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" settings) Grateful for any solutions/clues/thoughts! Jim INSTRUCTIONS I FOLLOWED TO CLEAR THE LOCAL CACHE Exit Outlook and Skype for Business. From the Start menu, choose Run. In the Run window, type this path in the Open box "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Outlook\" Click OK Find the .ost file and rename or delete it (you may need to Show Hidden Files and Show Extensions to see the file) Remove the following files: any .xml files, any .nst files Open the RoamCache folder and delete all items Open the HubAppFileCache folder and delete all items Open the Offline Address Books folder and delete all items Open the 16 folder and delete all items Restart OutlookSolved21KViews1like21CommentsMobile Application Management for Windows (NEW)
This newly released product is now available in Public Preview, and I'm excited to share my initial impressions. MAM enables users to stay productive on any device while ensuring the security of our data. Mobile Application Management for Windows enables us to; Apply policies to corporate applications on personal devices. No enrollment required, just an Azure AD (or MEID) registration. Place restrictions such as cut/copy/print and blocking incoming or outgoing data. Integration with the Mobile Threat Defense connector to detect local health threats. Block access or wipe corporate data based on specific conditions. In this blog post, I provide a first look at the configuration and user experience of MAM for Windows. https://myronhelgering.com/first-look-at-mam-for-windows/1.2KViews1like0CommentsProblem reading properties in WIA.Imagefile using Excel and MS Access on Windows 11
My access database crashes reading image file properties using the Windows Image Acquisition Library 2.0 (wiaaut.dll) on a Windows 11 PC I am hoping to get help with a code solution or to find someone else who gets a similar failure outcome that can be forwarded to Microsoft I have been relying on Windows Image Acquisition Library for a couple years now to compile and manage a catalog of photographs with their properties in an MS Access database. Previously, I have had no problems using a PC running Windows 10. Now I have a new PC running Windows 11 and my application crashes (shut down) while collecting image properties from the WIA.Imagefile object. I imported the same code module that has the relevant subroutines into Excel and get the same result. The application crashes. The crash occurs in an apparently random fashion. It scans the same collection of 3800 images repeatedly and I find that the crash can occur anywhere between the first and last image file scanned, It can also occur on any of the 65 or so properties that are offered in the WIA.ImageFile object. I have sufficient error trapping on all the subroutines that are called in the process but no error handling code block is ever entered before the application crashes. In comparison, these MS Access and Excel applications can read, without issue, the file properties that are made available in the FileSystemObject and in the Shell32 object. Relevant tech specs are: The PC is a Dell Inspiron 7700 AIO with 11th gen Intel i7-1165g7 with 32g of RAM, 1TB SSD drive, with 750GB free Running windows 11 Home 10.0.22000 Build 22000 I am Using Office 365 Version 2203 Build 15028.20160 (I have the same Office 365 build on a Windows 10 PC with no issues) I have attached a module with the subroutines I use, with hopes that an Access or Excel expert can help me figure this out.1.6KViews1like0CommentsPowerpoint (V.2202) shut down itself without autosave when I temporary left my PC
Hi all, I have this experience when I have worked on powerpoint slides. I left my laptop for awhile without any works and close the lid of my laptop after working on some slides, then when I opened it again, the apps just completely gone as if I never had opened it. Therefore, my works also gone although there were some autosave has going on before. It has happened twice. Today I just left the laptop without even close the lid after working on the slides and the apps again disappeared and the works were gone. I suspect there was some kind of setting on the MS-Office that I should look at. But, I remember that I never change anything before. I just recently upgrade my laptop to Windows 11 and I think the issue was started after the upgrade. I like to know whether anyone has similar problem like me and perhaps can share some advise and help. Thank you.Solved2KViews1like4CommentsARM64 Office install
