Where do video files need to be stored (what type of library or list) and of what file type or content type do they need to be to be picked up by the highlighted content web part when it is set to show only content of type Video in the site collection? I have used an assets library and mp4 files. They files play fine in the app itself, but the highlighted content web part is not showing them when I configure it to show Video files. (I do see that the files are being indexed as I can get them showing if I ask the web part to for example show content added today, so my question is more related to the query applied by the web part not really working for me.)6.3KViews0likes8CommentsSharepoint fails to show all videos in a folder in thumbnail mode - plz help!
Hi. I have problem with Sharepoint. I've uploaded videos and SP is only showing some of the files, not all. If I hide thumbnail column all videos are available but if I turn thumbnails on, only some are available. File type is MP4 and this happening to some of the videos, not all (folders). And we really want to keep thumbnails > this helps and speeds up finding the right files a lot. Any help in this is highly appreciated.2.1KViews0likes1CommentHighlighted Content with New Stream - Displaying Thumbnails
Hello Community! I am looking to create a video archive that is using the new 365 Stream experience. It was https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/stream/streamnew/portals-guide-training-site#videos-grouped-by-categories to use the Highlighted Content web part to display the videos. But, I am struggling to get the thumbnails to properly display. I have https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/include-a-custom-thumbnail-for-your-video-or-audio-file-with-stream-on-sharepoint-b24f6c73-6496-44d4-bb31-bc0be3e61425 in the new Stream using the Video Settings but it does not reflect that in the Highlighted Content web part when I am in the Filmstrip, Grid or Compact views (which all display thumbnails). But, it works in the Carousel view - so I know that the thumbnail was properly added. What am I missing? I want the SharePoint site to look professional as they browse through multiple videos but I can't seem to get the thumbnails to display properly.792Views0likes0CommentsRedirect on close of video stored in SharePoint library
Does anyone know how to redirect the video close button back to the home page of the site? I have a video stored in a SharePoint library and the video opens fine and if you hit the back button on the browser, it goes back to the home page. But if you close the video using the X in the upper right, it closes the video and puts you in the SharePoint library. I tried using a "source" parameter, but it is ignored. I can link to a page with the video embedded on it but was hoping to not have to create pages for each one of my videos. The URL looks like this: <https> ://<tenant>.sharepoint.com/sites/test/Shared%20Documents/Forms/AllItems.aspx?id=%2Fsites%2Ftest%2FShared%20Documents%2F20220203%5F104400%2Emp4&parent=%2Fsites%2Ftest%2FShared%20Documents556Views0likes0CommentsNo embed link option for sharing Sharepoint files (.mp4)
Hi, am I missing it or is there no option to embed a file from Sharepoint? I am trying to share an .mp4 file that I have in my Sharepoint files but there is no embed code option, and the usual sharing link does not work in iFrame generators. It is a work/business account and the video must be embedded. I am probably missing something. Can someone please advise?1.1KViews0likes1CommentChapters in video files
Hi, I uploaded some MP4 files to our SharePoint and embedded them on a SharePoint website. These video files contain chapter markers which can be used e.g. by VLC. Can SharePoint handle chapters as well or is there any dirty workaround to jump to specific timestamps in the video? Dear SharePoint community, I would like to ask you if you can give us your best guidance / your tips and advice with regards to digital asset management, how to organise in the best way? Let's assume the context is social media assets, depicting contents from many different brands, and many different products, both packshots, as well as scenery images, as well as videos, and other file types (e.g. .PDF, .PSD, .EPS, .AI, ...). They could also include product catalogues, et cetera. Let's say a large amount of content consisting of a very rich array of multimedia types. Would the best way to organise this be to construct a database of the content as in a SharePoint list (because it has easy filtration, and allows the database to stay 'clean' in that you can tag them with predefined fiels/tags/choices/...) to organise the metadata of the content (think of 'year', 'brand', 'product', 'type: packshots', ... et cetera), and then perhaps connect that to a SharePoint Image Gallery, or is there perhaps something for multimedia assets in general, including videos, such that you have easy access and a thumbnail preview, or a video still ... Or are such one-eye-overview visual / multimedia preview already included in a SharePoint list? Or is it advisable not to use a SharePoint list, but to put the metadata inside the file's columns directly? Is there any SharePoint 'views' that we should pay special attention to when we would start designing such a social media digital asset management? Enterprise Metadata and Keyword Settings seems a very nice feature of SharePoint, I assume that this could be very handy for the purpose described above? Any SharePoint apps or web parts, or content libraries that are advisable? Would appreciate it if you have any information, comments, or perhaps a reference on a generic use-case described above? P.S.: We love this community because we feel that sharing our best practices with others can enable SharePoint to be used to the fully as well as come up with new exciting features. I searched a lot of threads an they were either ~2 years old or talked about using Stream/O365 Video. On our new Modern site, I uploaded three MP4 videos to a both a SharePoint Asset Library and Video library (activated video and rich media feature). I am trying to find the embed code so I can embed the video on our home page, but I don't seem to be able to find it. Is there a way to upload MP4 videos to Modern SharePoint site and then embed them into web page? I can only get link and when I add the link, it doesn't look nice vs. embedded videos Also, does anybody know if SharePoint online modern sites' 'support MP4 videos? I imagine hundreds of users may watch this video at a time. We don't want to use Stream as it prompts the users to log in thoughts?Solved34KViews0likes9CommentsPlayback in Browser and in Office IOS app for videos stored in SharePoint Library
Hello We are heavy O365 video users and due to two significant outages last year we are now moving to a new approach using SharePoint Document Libraries. We would ideally have liked to have used Stream but the APIs are still not available which rules this option out. We are experiencing issues with playback and some videos will not playback via the browser or through the Office App using SharePoint Site option. . For the most part our videos are in MP4, MPEG and AVI format. Are there limitations around what formats can playback within a browser and within the IOS Office app. Within the app we cannot see any of the videos within our video libraries. I have seen this article - https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/video-formats-you-can-play-on-the-onedrive-website-07c008b2-70e4-4ced-8a9b-f25bed77196a Does this also apply to SharePoint Document Libraries.2.2KViews0likes4CommentsSharePoint 2019 video can't play in IE11
We are using the Embed web part to display a video (mp4) in a Doc Lib: plays fine in Chrome but not IE11 (you get the pop up to download) I tested this in SPO and the behaviour is exactly the same. We cannot use the File Viewer web part because it only takes Office files (unlike the SPO equivalent which take videos too and would resolve our issue) We don't have Stream. Sure I am missing something and there is another way to show a video in IE11?1.7KViews0likes0Comments
