7 TopicsSPMT Migration and item ID's
Hello All, After migrating a full site from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint Online with SPMT we discover the following. When a new document is created the item ID in SP online is far off when we create a document in the SP2013 environment. New document in source list SP2013: ID = 4123 New document in migrated list SP Online: ID = 4144 Is there someone with an explanation for this, this happens in all libraries on the site. Thanks, Jacob1.3KViews0likes4CommentsSPMT and Migration Manager support for migrating from one SharePoint Online site to another
Does SPMT or Migration Manager supports migrating content from one SharePoint Online site to another site within the same SharePoint Online tenant? As per my understanding, both tools do not support migration from SharePoint Online but wanted to confirm.838Views0likes1CommentSPMT not moving all folders
I have recently been part of a migration with 2 customers. After one migration, it seems all the folders/sub folders have not pulled through to Teams despite having no errors recorded. Myself and the customer are certain the top level folders did have content at first but now it is empty. This has also happened with the other customer now. I have looked into SharePoint library itself and that's even stranger. Sometimes folders pop up for a second and then disappear, and some folders show there but not in Teams 'Files' tab view, and some sub-folders seem to have been moved to the top folder structure levels. Yet, a few levels down the sub-folders are missing again. I cannot make any sense of this. Is there something with the SP Migrate Tool which states only top level folders will be migrated successfully and sub-folders are hit and miss and do their own thing?2.6KViews0likes2CommentsSPMT filtering
Hi Does anyone know how the file date filtering works in SPMT - if the "created after" and "modified after" options are both set, are they ANDed, i.e. both conditions have to be satisfied for a file to be migrated? I looked in the documentation but couldn't find a definitive answer Many thanks450Views0likes0CommentsSharePoint Migration Tool - Menu is NUTS!
After logging into the migration tool the menu options presented to me, are simply, NUTS! I click around randomly on the screen to see this and can't click any further - come on, why is this so poor? I can't click on anything further on this screen, other than to load the tenant central admin site. Do I really have to uninstall the application and start over again?!729Views0likes1CommentSharePoint Migration Tool - migrate only one library
SharePoint Migration Tool (SPMT) version 3.2.119.0 I want to migrate one (1) library from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint Online. The source library is simple - no custom fields - just a lot of folders and files. When I set up the migration task I select this specific source library only. Tried both GUI, CSV and JSON. After the task completes the destination site ends up with all kinds of lists and spweb/spsite settings from the source... Is it not possible to have only one (1) library migrated? Why does it activate publishing features and all kinds of settings?985Views0likes0CommentsSPMT breaks "Newsfeed.aspx" page, when migrating EMPTY SharePoint 2013 site to Communication site
When you use SharePoint Migration Tool and migrate any SharePoint 2013 site (with "Site Feed" feature ENABLED) to pre-created Communication site, "Newsfeed.aspx" page (https://msdevtests.sharepoint.com/sites/newsfeed-page-tests-4/newsfeed.aspxtenantName.sharepoint.com/sites/siteName/newsfeed.aspx) appears to be broken. An additional WebPart is added to the page, and both display the following error: Web Part Error: A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Page cannot be displayed or imported. You don't have Add and Customize Pages permissions required to perform this action. Correlation ID: fc1c189f-e07c-1000-b42a-e22218e27e28. See the following screenshot: "Newsfeed.aspx" cannot be modified by Site Owner (or even Tenant admin), as it is not allowed in SPO. So it remains broken forever. Steps to reproduce: 1. Invoke the following PowerShell Command: New-SPOSite -Url https://tenantName/sites/siteName/sites/siteName ` -Title "Site Name" ` -Owner "tenantAdmin@tenantName.onmicrosoft.com" ` -StorageQuota 100 ` -LocaleId 1033 ` -Template "SITEPAGEPUBLISHING#0" 2. Run SharePoint Migration Tool, select any Source site (with "Site Feed" enabled), and migrate it to pre-created Communication site. 3. Navigate to https://msdevtests.sharepoint.com/sites/newsfeed-page-tests-4/newsfeed.aspx and see broken Newsfeed page, without options to fix it, remove broken webparts etc. When everything works fine: When "Site Feed" feature is DISABLED ON SOURCE site. It remains disabled on Target. It's possible to enable it later. When you pre-create TEAM Site ("STS#3" template). When you DON'T PRE-CREATE Target site at all. Then SPMT creates Team site itself - and Newsfeed is fine SPMT Migration settings: default. Tested on 3 different tenants. The issue persists in all of them. It looks like a bug in SharePoint Migration Tool, which adds a new "Site Feed" webpart during migration, when activating the feature on Target. SPMT version: 3.2.115.0 (latest Public Beta) and 3.2.114.2 (latest Release). SharePoint Online Management Shell version: 16.0.9119.1200 Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!Solved1.7KViews0likes1Comment
