37 TopicsIdentifying the Presenter Who Muted or Removed Participants in a Meeting
Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to identify which presenter muted or removed participants during a Microsoft Teams meeting. Is there a way to access this information through meeting recordings, logs, or any other available tools within Teams? Thank you for your guidance on this matter!26Views0likes0CommentsIdentifying the Presenter Who Removed a Guest in a Meeting Recording
Hi , I would like to know if it is possible to identify which presenter removed a guest from a Microsoft Teams meeting by reviewing the meeting recording or any associated logs. Does the platform record such actions, and if so, where can this information be accessed? Thank you for your assistance!13Views0likes0CommentsTeams Splits Recording and Transcription Settings for Meetings and Events
Microsoft plans some big changes for Teams recording and transcription policies in February 2025. Events like webinars and town halls get separate controls for recording and transcription through the Teams event policy. By default, meeting transcription is enabled to generate transcripts for more meetings (and make transcripts available to Copilot). In addition, face and voice profile enrollment is enabled by default (important if you have Teams Rooms devices). https://office365itpros.com/2025/01/08/teams-recording-and-transcription/66Views1like0CommentsTeams Meeting recordings not accessible to invitees
Teams meeting recordings (OneDrive) for scheduled meetings are not being shared to all invited. Instead, the file is only being shared to people who attended the meeting. I've tested this a few times and gone through the lists to verify that the people that did not attend the meeting do not have access. If this is by design, this is a significant oversight by Microsoft. Previously in Stream, the recording was shared to everyone in the invite. Now with the move to OneDrive, this means going through the attendee list and comparing to who was invited, then manually going to the OneDrive recording, modifying the sharing, and adding each of the people that did not attend the meeting. Most meeting recordings in our organization are needed for the people who missed the meeting, and by default they cannot access. What a pain for any meeting larger than a few people! Microsoft's documentation does not match the behavior: "People invited to the meeting, except external users, will automatically be granted permission to the recording file with view access without ability to download." https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/cloud-recording Please tell me there's a powershell setting for this somewhere...49KViews4likes25CommentsForgot to end recording before leaving the call
I got a very embarrassing problem here.... I just hosted a 90min call on Teams including a recording of said call. At the end got hasty, having to join another call - and left the meeting before ending the recording. Now, all I see is the chat entry of that call that recording has started and a few lines later, it say meeting has ended. Please, can anyone tell me how to retrieve my recording ?!Solved227KViews1like10CommentsBlocking Download Access to Teams Channel Meeting Recordings
Our review of the Videos chapter for the Office 365 for IT Pros eBook found a Teams meeting policy setting we hadn’t documented to block downloads for channel meeting recordings. Naturally, this was a disaster, so we spent some time investigating what the policy setting does and if it’s useful in practice. It works, but do you want to block downloads of channel meeting recordings? https://office365itpros.com/2024/06/13/channel-meeting-recordings/326Views0likes0CommentsHow do I configure Teams to record all meetings by default?
Hello, a Teams user can configure meeting options so that the meeting will be recorded as soon as it starts, or they can click Record when the meeting starts. But both of these rely on users remembering to record the meeting. I would like to configure the default so that all my meetings are recorded. Is this possible? I have checked my personal Teams options and as global admin I have also checked the Teams Admin Center but I can't find any option to record all meetings by default. Is it possible in Microsoft Teams like it is in Zoom?Solved15KViews1like11CommentsStopping and restarting recording overwrites the first recording?
I had an hour long meeting which was recorded from the start. The recording process was visually confirmed by multiple participants. At the end of the meeting I went to stop the recording but it did not immediately stop when I selected the option. I went back and hit the option again and after a short delay it finally stopped. However, when I checked Stream today the recording is 29 seconds long and there is no second recording. First, there seemed to be a delay in how the recording options were behaving. Second, why would it overwrite the previous video rather than just adding a (1) to the filename of the new one? Was the processing time interrupted? Why was I not warned before the first video was overwritten? Is there a way to retrieve the video that was overwritten? This seems like a significant bug or a really annoying "feature".12KViews1like2CommentsAutomatic Recording Renames the Meeting Name
Hello. We were testing what happens when automatic recording was enabled for a meeting regards to students joining the meeting before the instructor. The students were invited to the meeting. If we do not block them in the lobby, they start the meeting and it automatic starts recording. The recording is stored under the first student to start the meting but labeled Meeting.. All students and the instructor can see the recording in Stream V2 (We do not use Stream Classic) If we change the options to have everyone but the organizer wait in the lobby, the recording starts successfully under the organizer/instructor but it is still renamed to meeting. And it does not show the organizer/instructor as sharing it. The Title of the meeting is Test Course #3. Screenshot attached. The Meeting "50m ago" is when we did the lobby test. The one below that also called Meeting was when first student to join the meeting started it and the automatic kicked in. Test student was called Cheerios. 🙂 Test Course #3 is the name of the meeting (#3 in the list).Solved1.9KViews0likes2Comments
