Project in teams not opening task chat window
Hi, I have been using Microsoft Project for the web and the Teams chat connection with my development team. Unfortunately, something has happened since Thursday 13-02-2025 that means the chat window is not opening for a task (Microsoft Teams -> Channel -> Project -> Task -> Window) It is extremely annoying, as we use the chat to show examples of development (screenshots, etc.) Does anyone have the same problem, or a solution to how to solve the problem? Which tool when: Project or Planner?
There's a reasonably new project management tool in play. When should you use Microsoft Project versus the newer Microsoft Planner? There are pros and cons to both and it's important you know them before getting started. That, and proponents of Project may be going overkill now that there's a user-friendly 'competitor'. Any ideas on the plan for Project Online and Azure DevOps integration? The process for TFS to Project Server on prem is no longer supported. Predefined field maps only available connectivity, so not really a solution we can use. How are others replacing the TFSFieldMapping? Thanks!
Project for the web - Roadmap from Microsoft?
Hi Is there somewhere a development roadmap of features coming to project for the web? Particular dependencies are so limited, I find shameful the price MS is charging for an annual license considering how primitive it is. Lags seem to only to work by dragging it on the timeline, but they get deleted when things move around overall. You cannot edit them in the grid, like in the project version for desktop and is missed any basic features around lags ( as in task +- time, start to start, or finish to start etc. ) . Options for manual and automatic scheduling of tasks ...? e.g. I can move task 2 ahead of task 1 on the timeline to create a lag/gap of 2 weeks. But if I move task 1 around task 2 does not follow task1 with a constant 2 week lag. The lag disappears if I move task 1 forward in time, or the lag extends if I move task 1 backwards in time. It seem to me that once you create a lag on the time line, then the task behalves like manual scheduled, but can start no sooner than the predecessor. This implementation of lags is very useless in practice. That means larger schedules with lag cannot be readjusted ones schedules as lags all get messed up when things move around. I hope this sees some updates soon!! Are there any known plans to make the lags usable in project online?
Pdp relative issues
Hi Community, I am configuring a new PWA and currently trying to add a new PDP, but I'm encountering a couple of issues that I've also noticed in other tenants. Under PWA Settings > PDPs & Workflows > PDP, when I click New, I only see three options: Link, Edit New Menu, and Add Template. I decided to edit one of the existing pages. However, even after adding a few custom fields to the page, once I click Apply and then Stop Editing, the page resets. Additionally, when I try to add a new web part, I don't find the Project web part category among the available options. Any suggestions?
Project accelerator deploy error
I need help with an error that occurs in the deployment of Project accelerator. The error is as follows: "Flow client error returned with status code "BadRequest" and details "{"error":{"code":"InvalidOpenApiFlow","message":" Flow saving failed with code 'OpenApiOperationParameterValidationFailed' and message 'Input parameter 'item' validation failed in workflow operation 'Create_a_new_record': The API operation 'CreateRecord' is missing required property 'item/msdyn_dayspermonth'.'."}} ". After the error occurs, reloading the page informs that the accelerator was implemented successfully. We couldnt find a task with that name", but task already exists?
I am composing a schedule on MS Project Online. In the "depends on" column, it does not let me add additional tasks to a task row. it only let me adds up to 7 tasks as a dependency to a row. It will not let me add anymore and it reads "We couldn't find a task with that name", but I have been assigning them and it exists? Is there a limit of tasks I can assign? I have attached a screenshot for clarification. Please let me know what I am doing wrong! Thank you.
