Intelligent versioning means that SharePoint Online manages file versions automatically and only keeps what’s needed. The feature works for OneDrive too, if only you can figure out how to enable it. Intelligent versioning can be enabled for a OneDrive account manually. PowerShell is the best option to enable intelligent versioning across a tenant. But how? We explain all here. https://office365itpros.com/2024/12/04/intelligent-versioning-onedrive/22Views0likes0CommentsMicrosoft 365 login

Unfortunatly there is no working Microsoft Support System for this problem. Instead there is an infinite support loop, which gets me in between a repair tool, that cant find any problems with my account and wants me to change my password. Anyone any idea how to fix this? thx66Views0likes0CommentsHow Microsoft 365 Empowers Students for Academic and Professional Success

Hello community, I have a seemingly basic request or question I did not find a direct answer to. Only this indirect denial I can find. So is there any way to carry over the synchronizations on one (Windows) machine to another (Windows) machine? Say, on machine A I am already synching 20 SharePoint "items" (libraries, files...) which I also want have synched with a new machine B without setting up these exact syncs anew. Is there a way to do this without setting up the new machines manually? And if not built-in; is there a flow, PS script or 3rd party solution for this use case? Best regards and thanks in advance for an answer, Jay13Views0likes0CommentsMS 365 Personal - Can't share folder with more than 10 external users
Hi, I'm using MS 365 Personal and I want to share a OneDrive folder in read/write mode with about 20 specific persons. I have specified their email addresses but only 10 of them have received the sharing link. Is this a known limitation of MS 365 Personal ? Thanks in advance.26Views1like3CommentsOneDrive is the most lethal application I have ever encountered
After installing Windows 11 on 2 computers, OneDrive took over ( without my knowledge or permission ) and started backing up all of my Documents and Desktop. I was forced to rebuild both computers! The operational default for OneDrive should be to ASK and then re-ASK before doing anything. If MS management is reading this, you should really place some safeguards into this product. If it wasn't for OneNote ( a reasonable app ) I would not touch OneDrive ever. Google Drive is far better. Thanks87Views0likes1CommentAccessing more than 1 One Drive account on PC
I currently use Dropbox for all my document storage, I don't keep any documents/files on the hard drive of my computer. I have two clients with Sharepoint (and also myself) and wanted to be able to use Sharepoint the way I use Dropbox, with it working on my computer so that I could search, save etc directly. Reading info, it seemed that One Drive would allow that, but when I tried to install One Drive for one of the clients, my personal One Drive disappeared and was taken over by the client's One Drive. Luckily I didn't have anything important in One Drive. Does One Drive work like Dropbox on my computer, with the search/save etc as if it was accessing the C: drive. Is it possible to have more than one One Drive account set up on my computer, and be able to see all the accounts, as if they were just separate folders, like Dropbox appears. Hope this makes sense. thanks,103Views0likes1CommentSharepoint file locking alternative
Good evening! I manage a fleet of laptops using Microsoft Intune. Our Microsoft 365 Business Premium subscriptions include Sharepoint Online and I'd like to use it as a file server. Everything works fine except for one specific point: locking files during editing. With a Windows Server file share, when someone wants to access a file being edited, a pop-up appears, inviting the user to open it in read-only mode, notify the editor, etc., which avoids the risk of conflict. With Sharepoint, it's more complicated. Here's the scenario: Sharepoint files are synchronized on PCs via OneDrive with the Intune configuration “Configure team site libraries to sync automatically, Use OneDrive Files on-demand and Convert synced team site files to online-only files” enabled. User 1 double-clicks on one of the files in the OneDrive folder, and a local copy is downloaded. User 1 edits the file via Word installed locally, while the Internet connection is lost. At the same time, user 2 edits the file and saves it. His version ends up on Sharepoint. A few minutes later, once User 1's connection is re-established, his version is saved on Sharepoint. User 2's changes will go completely unnoticed, creating confusion and wasted time. The check-out/check-in system proposed by Sharepoint has the merit of existing, but is very restrictive for users. Is there a way of ensuring that Sharepoint files appear in the OneDrive folder in Windows File Explorer, but that modifications can only be made online, to avoid this type of problem? I thought that the “Convert synced team site files to online-only files” option would meet this need, but it seems that this is not the case. Thanks for your help! I dont know what/how it happened, but one day, all my files stopped automatically saving to my OneDrive. Now, every single file, as soon as I open it, will be re-labelled as d.docs.live.net and then eventually a number in brackets ie (56). Even if I resave the file as a copy, it keeps happening. I have tried every fix I can find online. I have cleared my credential manager, unlinked and uninstalled OneDrive and then reinstalled and relinked everything, I have chosen somewhere else on my PC for my OneDrive files to save (so now I have 2 copies of everything on my PC). I'm at my wits end with this. Its so frustrating every single time I try and do any work, this is a problem. Is there anything else I can do to fix this issue or somewhere I can go for help?4.1KViews1like16CommentsOnenote - Embed Office files from OneDrive not working
Hi All, This official article from MS describes how MS Office files from your OneDrive are available as embedded content in OneNote:https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/embed-content-in-onenote-fd5abf7d-abd4-4902-8e5f-93088c45b11d Our friend Mike Tholfsen also presents this option in his video about embedding content in OneNote:https://youtu.be/XokNWM_wwEo?si=lh0csbcjVlITvgN_&t=111 However, this is not currently working when I try to embed it from my personal OneDrive. I have the newest version (Onenote 365 for Windows 11) and also tried making the file "public". Nothing seem to work - just a static link. Does everyone else have the same problem?174Views0likes1Comment
