Possible at all/is there a workaround? I am trying to put an Events List and a List on one page. The idea is to let users view/add to both on one page. The problem: when adding a list webpart, the events list I need doesn't appear as an option. I searched the forums and did not find a clear solution. Is this possible at all? If I run an automate flow to push entries and changes back and forth to a duplicate list and an events list that would be recursive. Currently have a 'Webpart Tabs' webpart with a placeholder standard list on the top: Titled 'Events List A'. I want to put the actual events list in its place. Happy holidays and thanks!19Views0likes1CommentNews Pages and Sharing
Hello! We have a few employees who have been trying to share news article pages from our News Hub using the 'Share' button. Since all employees have 'read only' access to the site, it's triggering an email to the site owner to approve the employee can share. Has anyone else experienced this as well. Wondering if this feature is not working properly. For now, I'm having employees just copy the URL and send it to other employees via email to share.5Views0likes0CommentsPersistent Browser Session
Hello, I can understand the concerns of the definition that saving the Session Cookie in the browser is problematic. Which brings me to define :"Persistent Browser Session" as "Never Persistent". It follows that every time you close and open a browser (login to SharePoint) the user is required to perform a renewed identification. which includes a name, password and MFA. frustrates the employees. What can be done about it, to make it easier for the users?17Views0likes1CommentSharepoint link not resolving in OWA
I have been directed to sharepoint forum from the Outlook forum, below is what I posted in the outlook forum. This had worked until recently, now any file I share, the outlook web app only shows a non-clickable url. Previously it resolved the url to the name and was clickable. If I cut and paste the link back into the same email that has been opened by the sharepoint process, it resolves to the name. If from sharepoint, I copy the link, i can paste it into word/excel/owa successfully. Any user I have asked to test, gets the same experience. Issue with any word, excel, pdf, ppt these are the common extension types used in our organisation No recent update or change, user reported this in 21/10/2024 and indicated that her method had stopped working two weeks prior, so estimate something changed around early october. I was hoping that it was a microsoft "enhancement" that would be fixed by now. Hi Guys, Need inputs on a particular requirement that I am struggling with in SharePoint Online Document Library. Here is a Document library, where I have a column named "document department". This is a lookup column to a separate list called "Department" The list "Departments" is below. It has various departments (like Finance, Human Resources, Project Delivery etc). It has department name, department shortcode, etc. REQUIREMENT : --------------------- The requirement is that when a document is uploaded to the document library, the users would select the department from the list of departments. At present, if the user belongs to HR department, they can still see and select other departments in this column. This should NOT be the case. The user should only see the department in that dropdown list, which the user belongs to (Example, HR user should only see the HR in the dropdown, and other options should either be grayed out or not visible). How do I achieve this?63Views0likes1CommentTracking Usage on SharePoint Communication Site
Hi, We have a SharePoint communication site and are looking for ways to track its usage beyond just the landing page. Specifically, we want to understand who is accessing not only the landing page but also the document libraries linked through the quick links on the page. Could you advise on how to conduct an audit that captures usage data for the entire site, including all libraries accessed via the quick links? What options should I consider when setting up the audit, or is there an alternative method to achieve this? Thank you!28Views0likes1CommentGuidance Needed: Report on Libraries and Subfolder Permissions in SPO Site
Hi All, I have a requirement to generate a report of all libraries and their subfolder permissions from a SharePoint Online (SPO) site. Hi, a user tried to migrate a local storage to SharePoint Online. He set up a sync between his Windows Explorer and the SharePoint library and did a plain copy of all folders & files from the network storage to the synced library. Now not all files or folders arrived on SharePoint but he already started to worked in the synced folder. Can I re-migrate fromn the network drive to SharePoint with the SPMT and keep the newer versions of the files? If so, how do I have to set up the SPMT? Thx and best regards79Views0likes3CommentsHide Personal OneDrive Results from Search
I have received complaints from users who are becoming confused when they find their own work OneDrive files in the SharePoint search results. The either worry someone else can see their confidential files, or simply don't understand the concept of checking the URL. Is there an easy way to remove these results from the default search? Additionally, are there any reasons we should not restrict these results?41Views0likes1Comment
