Microsoft Teams Phone
5 TopicsTeams Phone: Communication Credits or full calling plan?
We are migrating 10 users away from our old VoIP provider and onto Teams Phone. Reviewing the call activity from our existing VoIP provider, these 10 lines only appear to use an average of 15 hours of calling total, across all the numbers, per month. 99% of all the calling is domestic (US/North America). Given this, does it make more sense to have each user get a Teams Phone Standard license, and a pool of Communications Credits that the Teams Phone users draw from, versus giving each user a full Teams Phone Plus Calling Plan license?396Views0likes0CommentsThe ringtone of the second caller is so loud. I need your help.
The scenario is this: We have a headquarters. This is where all the calls come in. We have set up an "Auto attendants" for this purpose. This also works wonderfully, but the ringtone during a conversation is much too loud. So if a call is being held with a caller and another caller is waiting on the line, the ringing drowns out the conversation with the first caller. We can't use the "busy on busy" feature because it doesn't make sense in a headquarters. It must be possible to have several conversations at the same time. Do any of you have any idea what I can do to make the ringing quieter? Normally, I don't want to hear another waiting caller knocking or kingking during a call. Thank you very much Der Klingelton des zweiten Anrufers ist soo laut. We used to be able to run the command "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\WindowsApps\ms-teams.exe callto:email address removed for privacy reasons" to initiate a call in the classic version of Teams, but since upgrading to the new Teams client we get "Sorry, we're unable to complete the call." I've tested the command with a phone number "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\WindowsApps\ms-teams.exe callto:3059999999" and confirmed this still works and will prompt me in Teams if I'd like to call this number, it just doesn't find the person when using their email: I found the following Q&A post https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/1179266/callto-working-in-teams where Microsoft stated "external deep link like callto: are not supported" but using a deeplink like the example in https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/platform/concepts/build-and-test/deep-link-workflow?tabs=teamsjs-v2#deep-link-to-start-an-audio-video-call-with-users, launches the browser first before redirecting to Teams, which is the behavior we are hoping to avoid. We can still use the classic Teams for now but considering it will be replaced with the new Teams by March 31, 2024, we wanted to get confirmation if callto: will not be supported in the new Teams. If it's no longer supported, how can we initiate a call in Teams from a command without launching the browser first?Add to a name an Alias or Nickname to Teams phone (or teams calling?)
Hi, If you setup the Auto Attendant and tell it to directory search by name. You might want to give nicknames or alias to some of your staff, for exemple, I have a single person in accounting, and her main email is "accounting" some user call her and say "accounting" other use her real name (in her signature) "lily" since her name in AD is "Lily" lily works but not accounting. in other cases some customers have complicated forein first or last names and they use a second simpler name but the real name needs work as well. anyone know how to do this?3.9KViews1like0CommentsClick to call (tel:) links not working
Recently switched over to the Teams Preview and noticed that the click to call (Teams Voice) functionality doesn't seem to be working. Selecting "Microsoft Teams (work preview), pops up the following in Teams: When I click "Call", it simply closes the modal without any action (equivalent of clicking "Cancel"). Prior to the Public Preview, it would make the call. Any others experiencing this? Would figure that this is a pretty standard functionality that they would have worked on from the onset. Perhaps something broke it?
