I set up 2 Teams Rooms for one of my clients and in learning how to set up and use a Teams Room and train the client, there seems to be a LOT left to be desired with Teams Room, especially for the price of the Teams Room Pro license! The Teams Room includes an Audio Conference license, but if you want to use it you have to send the invite AS the room. So users needing this would need to be a delegated admin of the room resource. And who wants to send out an invite from "Main Conference Room on behalf of Jane" to their customers? This means each user needs their own Audio Conference license* to send out their own invites and then add the Teams room. What is the point of the room having an audio conference license? If you add a Teams Room to your invite, the attendees are shown the location of the meeting as that conference room, the only clue it is an online/teams meeting is the Teams info in the invite's message body. Then when the attendee gets an Outlook reminder for the meeting it actually shows the location as the conference room NOT a Teams meeting. No minutes are included so you can't actually use the Teams Room as a conference phone unless you add minutes. I would think for the cost of Teams Room Pro it would include a Teams Phone with Calling Plan license. So if you just want to have a conference call you have to setup a whole Teams meeting and then just use the audio portion. This has been a very difficult journey. Explaining all of this to my client after convincing them to spend a good amount of money on a Teams Room setup (equipment cost, to be fair, is not a Microsoft problem) and then continually telling them the limitations and how they need to spend more money for additional licenses to get the features they want is not a good solution. For those looking to sell a Teams Room, do the research first and be warned it is NOT a cheap or easy solution! *Thankfully the Audio Conference license is now free, that's a big thank you out to Microsoft for that!2KViews1like1CommentCan't assign direct routing phone number to resource account using Microsoft 365 E5 Developer licens
Recently you can no longer assign a direct routing telephone number to a resource with an E5 developer license. Unfortunately, I don't have a Microsoft Teams Phone resource account license available. That's why I can't test all the possibilities of the auto attendant. The following error is reported: User '13fcea9c-1968-4531-bb3a-dc660412d6f8' lacks appropriate licenses to assign a 'DirectRouting' number. Licensed is "Teams Phone". What can I do?1.4KViews0likes0CommentsQuestion about Microsoft Teams Policy Recording License Requirements
On https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-recording-policy, it mentioned that Compliance Recording can be enabled on Microsoft 365 A3/A5/E3/E5/Business Premium and Office 365 A3/A5/E3/E5 users. After enabling a Microsoft Teams trial, we have 2 licenses available to assign to each user: "Microsoft Teams Commercial Cloud" and/or "Microsoft Teams Exploratory". Is "Microsoft Teams Commercial Cloud" and/or "Microsoft Teams Exploratory" part of these 2 suites of licenses?1.8KViews0likes1CommentTeams Together Mode License Requirements
Hi Community! I have been looking for the license requirements for Teams Together Mode feature but I did not see any article. May I know what license is needed? And what will happen if guest users join the Teams Meeting? Will they their video show in the together mode? Any help will be highly appreciated. Thank you!1.8KViews0likes2CommentsMicrosoft Teams Call queues
When you create a call queue and have it redirected to a "person in organisation" what is the minimum license/s that this user account needs when selecting it in the "person in organisation" option? On the shared mailbox I was pointing this to, so the voicemails would get sent to this shared mailbox I could only select the user account of the mailbox when it had a calling plan and Microsoft 365 phone system license. If I only had the Microsoft 365 Phone system license it would not let me select the shared mailboxes user account. I get this error: "You are trying to link first name last name but they aren't enterprise voice-enabled." Just seems overkill that the shared mailbox needs a calling plan when they are not making calls and only receiving a call?Solved3.3KViews0likes3CommentsUse Teams licenses to control access to Microsoft Teams
In regards to MC226038, I'm sure I know the answer, but the description is making me ask... Here is the update. We're making some changes to how you enable Microsoft Teams for individual users within your tenant. We're removing the Microsoft Teams enablement setting from within the Microsoft 365 admin center and will rely solely on Microsoft Teams license allocation to decide if a user has access to Microsoft Teams. Key points: Timing: Beginning December 03, 2020 Control: License allocation Action: Review and assess How this will affect your organization: If a user within your tenant is given an active Microsoft Teams license, they will have access to Microsoft Teams. No additional access checks will be made. Certainly the 'no additional access check will be made' won't apply to Conditional Access Policies, right? If i am blocking users with CA policies, they will still be stopped from using Teams even if they are licensed?Solved1.6KViews0likes1Commenterror message when starting Teams on Desktop and Web "You're Missing Out..."
