Team, I had one Lenovo device, when I bought this Windows Pro License, linked to my account, in 2023. Now, I got new Asus device. Not able to use Activate Troubleshooting or Windows didn't auto migrate the license. Still using Home Edition. Tried troubleshooting guide https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/add-your-microsoft-account-to-your-digital-license-3bdaaacc-259d-4769-bf14-acac4edbc30a Since, Home Edition is active, Troubleshoot button I do not have "Add Account" button too. Not sure, what to do next.19Views0likes1CommentPC powers off after DRIPS warning
This started to happen about 10 days ago, on most days, but not all. My PC, a Dell XPS 8960, running Windows 11, shutdowns on its own while in suspension. To resume working, I just need to press he power button to turn it back on. Looking at event viewer, at the time of the power on, I see the error: The system shutdown at xx:xx:xx on xx/xx/xx was unexpected Previous to the shutdown I see these warnings: USB device draining system power when system is idle. USB Device: VID: 0x424 PID: 0x7260 REV: 0x625 Removal action failed: QueryRemovalInitiated And another identical for VID: 0x424 PID: 0x7240 REV: 0x207 Then come another 2, one for each of these two devices, saying: Enumerating a DRIPS blocking device that was previously removed when exiting low power epoch. IsPortCycle: false The devices under device manager with these IDs are both listed as USB2 Controller Hub: USB\VID_0424&PID_7260&REV_0625&MI_00 USB\VID_0424&PID_7240&REV_0207 Which are both related to my Dell U3223QE Monitor. If I unplug the USB-C cable from the monitor to the PC, both USB2 Controller Hub disappear from Device Manager. So, clearly, the PC shutting down on its own when it goes into suspension has something to do with these warnings. Since there are more USB devices connected to the monitor: a Dell soundbar AC511M, a fingerprint reader, a Logitech mouse USB wireless transmitter and a Yubikey physical security key (identity device), I can't be sure if the error is related to the monitor itself or one of the connected devices. The monitor only has a 2022 driver published by Dell and that is the one installed. The soundbar has no driver from Dell and runs on a Microsoft 2024 driver. The mouse is running a 2006 Microsoft driver. The Yubikey is also on a Microsoft 2006 driver. Same for the fingerprint reader, listed as HID-compliant fido. So no recent driver changes to any of them. At this point, I don't know why it shutdowns or how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.22Views1like0CommentsWindows Hello for Business - PIN Reset Flow
Hi all, I'm a bit confused on the PIN reset flow for Windows Hello for Business from the login/lock screen. We are testing this with two Entra Joined devices with two accounts that are Entra Joined When one device starts the PIN reset/I forgot my PIN from the logon screen, they are prompted to use MFA credentials, this is what I want With another user, they are asked to "veryify it's them" and they need to enter a password. I'm not sure what's casuing the difference and why one is being asked for a Password and the other is following the correct MFA flow. Just to note, if I assigned TAP to the account I'm having an issue with, they are prompted for the TAP and can reset the PIN, no password required. I'm not sure why the process is asking for a password in one instance and MFA in another. Thanks18Views0likes0CommentsConditional Access - Block all M365 apps private Mobile Device

Hello, I would like to propose a new diagnostic feature for Windows: a Boot Monitor tool that shows in real time when the system is actually ready and which services/drivers are still starting in the background. Currently, available tools only provide partial or post-boot information: BootRacer stops measuring when the desktop appears, but many services (e.g., OneDrive for Business, delayed services, cloud sync) continue loading afterwards. Event Viewer and WPR/WPA provide logs, but only after the boot has completed, and they are too technical for most users. The proposed Boot Monitor would: Integrate with the Windows Service Control Manager and ETW, Show a timeline of drivers and services during startup, Indicate the exact time when the system is fully ready, not just when the desktop appears. This would help users and IT admins identify which components delay startup, optimize configuration, and troubleshoot performance issues — in a safe and official way (avoiding third-party low-level drivers, which are blocked by Secure Boot). Thank you for considering this suggestion!17Views0likes1CommentWindows 11 ARM download for ISO and VHDX?
Hi everyone, hoping someone here can clear up some confusion for me. I plan to run Windows 11 on an ARM-based device on my Mac. But I'm getting a bit tangled up in the specifics of where to get the official ISO of Windows 11 ARM and what the licensing rules are. My main question is about the legitimate Windows 11 ARM download sources. Is the version of Windows 11 for ARM64 available directly from Microsoft, or do you have to get it through the Insider Program? Not sure about the difference between the standard ISO and the VHDX files meant for virtual machines. Any guidance on the right path to take would be a huge help42Views0likes7CommentsPlease help me understand how Win11 is screwing this up
This is a picture of the properties of a particular VM I want to back up. This is a picture of an external HDD I have, which is completely empty (obviously). This is the error I get when I try to copy the above VM to the above external HDD. Clearly Win11 is totally screwing up space calculations here. Any idea how, why, and how to fix it?5Views0likes0CommentsHow can I control iPhone from pc via usb or wifi?
I want to be able to view the iPhone screen, use the mouse and keyboard to control it, and maybe even transfer files or record the screen. This can be done easily on a Mac but it becomes much harder on a Windows PC. I know QuickTime can be used for screen viewing, but it doesn't seem to allow full control. I'm wondering if there's any method, software, or workaround that lets me fully operate the iPhone from my Mac especially without jailbreaking if possible. What tools or settings would you recommend to control iphone from pc via USB and for Wi-Fi connections? Are there any limitations I should be aware of?1.1KViews1like7Comments
