Copilot in SharePoint
54 TopicsCreating Work Instructions/Process from a video with Copilot
I'm looking to document a process in the most efficient way possible. Has anyone been able to use Copilot to interpret a video from Teams or a screen recording and have it create accurate work instructions? Would like to save time and avoid manually typing work instructions by potentially using Copilot to speed up this process. Any tutorials would be much appreciated.47Views1like2CommentsSharePoint Knowledge Agent Available in Preview (but where's the magic)
With not a little hype, Microsoft launched the SharePoint Knowledge Agent on September 18. Getting some AI help to organize sites sounds good, but only if the assistance delivered by the artificial intelligence does something useful. In this case, the agent generated some moderately interesting results without ever reaching the level of AI magic anticipated (and reported) by some. https://office365itpros.com/2025/09/25/sharepoint-knowledge-agent/102Views0likes2CommentsPart 00: Beyond Team Pride — Copilot Pages as the True Entry Point
In Part 0, I shared my personal motivation from an education experience. Building on that, here I want to highlight another reason — the fragmentation of Microsoft 365. The Problem The boundaries between apps are too strong, so to users they appear as completely separate worlds. The Challenge If this siloed culture continues, even new features will not solve the root issue — they will only add more complexity. My Proposal (Parts 1–3) That’s why I made my proposals in Part 1–3: Part 1: Simplify Copilot fragmentation Part 2: Vertical navigation to prevent getting lost Part 3: Dynamic sidebar for meetings Feasibility This is not an impossible idea. With Graph API and Fluent UI, plus existing side panels (e.g., Teams), unified lists, switching, and a meeting sidebar can all be implemented. It’s mainly integration and UX alignment, which makes it low-cost and high-impact. My Ask So please, prioritize user experience over team pride. If Copilot Pages becomes the true all-in-one entry point, Microsoft’s technology will shine even brighter — and users will finally say: “This is exactly what we’ve been waiting for.” 👉 Next: Part 4, “Thoughts Under a Cloudy Sky”, to explore the future vision. 16Views0likes0CommentsCopilot Administrative Skills Don’t Do Much for SharePoint Management
Microsoft 365 Copilot now has some SharePoint skills to deploy in the SharePoint admin center. The problem is that the skills aren’t very good and don’t do much to help hard-pressed SharePoint Online administrators cope with the vast explosion of sites that exist in many tenants today. The problem is data. If Copilot doesn’t have the information to reason over, it can’t answer questions or give advice. https://office365itpros.com/2025/09/16/sharepoint-skills-copilot/36Views1like0CommentsRunning the SharePoint Site Content and Policy Comparison Report
A new SharePoint Site content and policy comparison report is available to tenants with Microsoft 365 Copilot or SharePoint advanced management licenses. The idea is that you choose some reference sites to compare other sites against to detect deviations from the reference site. It seems like a good idea if you’re trying to impose standards to control Copilot. Unhappily, attempts at running the report turned up zero results. https://office365itpros.com/2025/09/11/sharepoint-site-content-comparison/29Views0likes0CommentsCopilot Agent in SharePoint App
I created a new Copilot agent (using GPT-4) that refers to knowledge from SharePoint sites and published to SharePoint site. I configured 'Authenticate with Microsoft' under 'Security'. Approved the agent from SharePoint site and set as 'default' for the site. It works as expected when launched from a SharePoint web page. However, when the agent is launched from SharePoint app, it says, 'connect to your Microsoft account' and if I click Sign in button, it throws an error 'Cannot connect'. Then the agent fails. What am I missing here?78Views0likes3CommentsAsk Copilot Agent created using Copilot Studio about custom metadata
I created an Agent using Copilot Studio, and i define the source to be a SharePoint online site. The site contain a document library which contain custom column named "MCProjectLeadUse" of type People or Group, Now if i directly asked the agent about the MCProjectLeadUser for a document named "Salary.docx", i will get this reply that it can not find this custom column:- So the only way i find it to fix this, is to create a Power Automate, which accept the entered file name , and return the custom field as follow:- and call this power automate from the copilot, as follow:- but is there a more appropriate approach to do this? as doing this inside Power Automate, means that we are not fully benefiting from AI capabilities, but rather return the values inside structured power automate flows using the traditional none-AI approach. So what if we add new custom column? or remove existing columns? can not we force the Agent to understand those custom properties out of the box? instead of using power automate? The age of intelligent software is here, and it’s transforming the way we build, interact with, and even think about applications. With the integration of Machine Learning (ML) and AI-powered copilots, developers and architects alike are empowered like never before. But beyond using these tools as productivity boosters, a bigger opportunity lies ahead: building on top of AI and copilots themselves. https://dellenny.com/building-on-the-future-machine-learning-and-copilot-the-next-frontier-in-application-development/43Views0likes0Comments
