Recent windows 11 25H2 update memory leak
My first time posting, I am unsure if this has been Acknowledged or what’s the fix but, after the recent updates for windows 11 25H2, I also needed to update drivers, intel drivers and Nvidia Drivers. I’m using an HP omen 16, 32GB of ram, Intel Ultra 7, Nvidia RTX5080. Normally idling uses about 20% ram, I opened Microsoft PC manager and it now was idling at 40% ram usage. After checking task manager, it was WMIproviderhost hogging the ram. Mainly SecurityHealthService in the events WMI log errors. I’ve tried running sc stop SecurityHealthService and responded access denied as admin. I’ve tried changing the folder to SecurityHealth_old to promote a refreshed new folder. Access was denied (system owns it) I have tried the repair app feature for windows security, then reboot. Still slowly ramping memory up. I then reset windows security and rebooted. Still doing it. I’ve verifyrepository and WMI repository came back consistent. delivery optimization has been turned off so it’s not that recent issue and AppX, but WMIproviderhost had been steady climbing upwards of 500mb of ram usage before restarting comp. Any ideas?Windows 11 frequently prompts to restart the computer during startup.
When booting up, the computer frequently prompts “Restart required” (despite no prior updates or other operations). After performing a forced shutdown and restarting, the system boots normally. This issue has recurred twice with identical symptoms. Please identify the root cause and provide a permanent solution.
Can't access ReFS partition after update on Windows 11 Pro
I configured storage spaces to be my primary data storage with multiple copies of data. I formatted the drive as ReFS, and let it do its thing. To be honest, W11Pro has been rock solid, no crashes, and I am running on a 13900k (I don't overclock so I haven't seen the issues). Any rate, after an update, I couldn't access my drive (F:). I checked Drive Management, and my F: drive was listed as Raw.
Windows 11 account issues: lock screen skipped, device not showing in Microsoft account
Hi everyone, I’m facing a few strange issues on Windows 11 that seem to be limited only to my main user profile, and I’m hoping to fix them without creating a new profile and migrating all my data. Settings > Apps > Advanced app settings: I see a sign-in-related issue & an error code 0x80860010. The lock screen is skipped when the PC starts. On power-on or restart, the lock screen flashes for a split second, and then Windows directly goes to the PIN entry screen. This happens only on my main user account. If I create a new local or Microsoft account, the lock screen works perfectly even after a restart or cold boot. My Windows PC does not appear under Devices on my Microsoft account page, even though the PC is signed in with my Microsoft account locally. I’ve already tried restarting, signing out and back into my Microsoft account, checking sign-in options, and testing Fast Startup on and off. Since everything works fine on newly created accounts, I believe my existing user profile or account state may be corrupted. I’m trying to avoid creating a new profile and manually migrating data if possible. Any guidance on repairing the current user profile, re-linking the device to my Microsoft account, or restoring normal lock screen behavior would be greatly appreciated. Windows 11 right-click .js file open method: “Script Host”
When right-clicking a .js file, an unremovable “Microsoft® Windows Based Script Host” option appears in the “Open With” menu. Standard methods (searching the registry HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT for the same entry and deleting it) fail because the registry path or key name does not match. Hi, In the last couple of weeks the Microsoft Print to PDF has dropped off my laptop. I have tried everything suggested online already but I cannot get it to work. I have a Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Edge with Windows 11 ARM64 and Snapdragon which I have only had since the beginning of Jan. I am not very techie but I have tried the following based on other forums I have looked at: Checked it is turned on in windows features - it is Turned it off in windows features and restarted then turned it back on and restarted Tried to reinstall in via add device but when I go to the list of drivers it isn't there so I cannot select it Checked the print queue but it's not in there Various things on command prompt including: dism /Online /Disable-Feature /FeatureName:”Printing-PrintToPDFServices-Features” /NoRestart dism /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:”Printing-PrintToPDFServices-Features” /NoRestart Updates to the powershell including: Disable-WindowsOptionalFeature -online -FeatureName Printing-PrintToPDFServices-Features Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -online -FeatureName Printing-PrintToPDFServices-Features I just get an error code: 0x800f0922 I also did a full factory rest of my laptop and NOTHING!!!!!! I have just done a screen share with Microsoft and they reinstalled my office 365 but that did nothing and then I was told they couldn't help and to post here. No video output on DisplayPorts on RX 5700 XT graphics card
I am not sure if my issue is a Driver or Windows 11 issue. I have an RX 5700 XT graphics card, and it has been working well for just over a year. The main monitor is connected to the card via DisplayPort, and the second monitor via HDMI. Last week, both of my monitors went black. No error and no monitor disconnect messages on the monitors. I can see the power LEDs on for both monitors. I rebooted the computer, and the BIOS splash screen popped up on the main monitor. The Windows login screen flashes for a second or two, then both screens go black. Through trial and error, I found that unplugging the main monitor from the DisplayPort made the second monitor work. If I plug in the main monitor, the second monitor on HDMI still works, but the main monitor stays black. I rolled the driver back to Windows Basic Driver, and the main monitor on the DisplayPort worked. The main monitor stopped working as soon as any AMD driver was installed. I tried different drivers from 2023, 2024, and 2025. I put in an old RX 570 graphics card, and it had the same issue: only the monitor on HDMI worked. I noticed there was an optional AMD drive and installed it. After that, the main monitor worked again. I put the RX 5700 XT back in. The main monitor went black again, and there was no optional Windows AMD driver update. I have booted into safe mode and installed the driver through DDU, but that also did not work. Windows 11 Home - Update - Bitlocker
Lenovo laptop Windows 11 Home Around November 15 my Lenovo laptop installed a update. When the laptop rebooted it asked for a Bitlocker key. Logging onto the Windows recovery website it wanted to send a validation code to a phone I no longer have. I did the 30 day wait for a Bitlocker recovery key to be emailed. When it arrived I entered the Bitlocker key. On restart it now states 'The application or operating system couldn't be loaded... File: \windows\system32\winload.efi. Error code: 0xc0000225'. Have I lost all the data on the hard drive? Should I disable anything in BIOS - Secure Boot? Windows Boot Manager? Intel Platform Trust Technology? Clear Intel PTT Key? Thanks for the help. DH
Unwanted profile changes
From time to time Microsoft adds new features to Windows 11, separately from the regular upgrades. When these new features appear, my computer is unaffected but on my wife's computer her user profile changes to my profile and her Favorites are replaced with mine. Twice in the last few months I have had to switch my settings back to hers on her computer. How do I stop this from happening again?
