343 TopicsThe Chat Notification Badge That Won't Die
I know there's another thread on this, but literally none of those solutions worked, so I'm a starting a new thread. My chat notification won't go away. All of my chats are read. Here's everything I've done to fix this already (note- It's a corporate computer so I can't mess with the anti-virus): Signed out of the app every (desktop, web, phone) Restarted my computer Cleared the cache data from all 13 different locations Changed the setting to close the app when I shut down Closed it in the Task Manager Turned off all of my notifications Clicked on every chat I've received over the last week The only thing that seemed to maybe be the culprit was a very large company meeting and I was the last to leave. There was a lot of chat in that meeting, though I didn't participate in any of it. The reason I think this was when I went to log into to Teams from my browser, as I started to type "Microsoft Teams" I noticed in the suggested sites that there was a chat message from that meeting. So obviously I've left the meeting. I've deleted that chat. I've even left the teams channel that hosts those meetings. For what it's worth, I don't have any notifications on the phone app (android). It's just on the desktop and the web. Please, for the love of god, help. It's slowly driving me insane and I don't have the mental capacity to deal with anything else that makes me insane during quarantine. 🙂 *jk- I'm fine. It's a joke*153KViews4likes54CommentsUse AI to Automatically Translate Messages in Teams Chat
Microsoft Teams is widely used in international organizations, but currently, chat translation requires manual action for each message. I’d love to see an AI-powered feature that automatically translates messages in real time based on user preferences or system-detected language. Suggested Features: Auto-translate messages into the user's default language Option to view original text with one click Support for both 1:1 chats and group/channel conversations Allow users to opt-in/out or customize translation settings Smart detection of language context (e.g., if one person switches to Spanish, the system adapts)169Views0likes1CommentUsers are not showing up when attempting to add them as member in Teams
We have been running into this issue over and over again... When a user is trying to add new members to their Team, users names are not populating. These users do have access to Teams. When someone else tries to chat those same people - or even perform the same task - those same users will populate. How do we fix this and why do users populate for some and not for others...? Thanks so much!!103KViews1like18CommentsAnnouncement Playback Service chat ¡HEPL!
Hello, for a few weeks now, one or two chats with the same name "Announcement Playback Service" have been appearing in my recent chats without explanation. Since the new chat update, they have remained permanently static in recent chats. I can't remove them, delete them, move them, or hide them. They're very annoying. I want to remove them. Does anyone know how? I've attached photos. (desktop and web versions) is the same problem When trying to move them from container: When I hit "Discard" nothing happens:4.4KViews0likes4CommentsWhere do I find the messages I sent through "Share to Outlook from Teams"
On 3/20 I forwarded a chat message to several people using the "Share to Outlook from Teams" feature available in the horizontal ellipse menu for that message. Today I was going through my notes and realized I never received a response from the person the message was directed to so I looked in my Outlook Sent box for the message to follow up on it. It was not there. Even more confusing, there is no indication in Teams that the message was sent. Embarrassingly I had to ask one of the "Cc" recipients to forward it back to me so I could follow up with the "To" person I needed to. This confirms the message did go out. Just to make sure this wasn't a one-time thing my buddy used the "Share to Outlook from Teams" feature on a Teams conversation we had. I received his email, and just like me he had no trace the message was sent. Where do you go to find your messages sent through the "Share to Outlook from Teams" feature?2.7KViews4likes1CommentAnnouncement Playback Service chat ¡HEPL!

Problem: We have a user as a guest user in our AAD, but since the user is logged in to their own tenant most of the time, I can't chat with that user (it's always offline, last logged on 9/19/19). If I select search firstname.lastname@domain.com externally, it only gives me the guest user option. Problem should not be with external access since my organization can chat with other external contacts in that external organization. Example of another contact -> I can choose to chat with External or Guest user.Solved3.4KViews1like2CommentsTeams Chat Gets the Shared Tab
The old Files tab in Teams chat is being replaced by the Shared tab. The new tab exposes both files and hyperlinks and Microsoft says that the Shared tab will support more types of objects in the future. No dates are given for the future enhancements, but the new Shared tab will roll out for Teams chat users in early July 2024. I like the new tab because I tend to share many hyperlinks in chats. https://office365itpros.com/2024/06/28/shared-tab-teams-chat/2.2KViews0likes2CommentsTeams: Banner Notification Duration
Hello, Is there a way to allow the Team Banner Notification to be customized such as the duration the notification stays up. Business Case: A busy medical office needs to communicate with the rest of the staff via Teams, but a staff member is going in and out of all the exam rooms. While the Red Dot notification in the system tray is great the Banner Notification is more noticeable. Problem: Banner Notification disappears after 15 seconds. Request: Customized the duration of the Banner notification for up to an hour. Thanks, Microsoft Teams for all the hard work you have put into this product.Solved34KViews4likes10Comments
