hello together I've been looking for a solution for months. How can I limit the resource on a RDS 2019 e.g. CPU and Memory? If a user logs in and runs a stress test, he takes all resources from the server, how can I limit this? Windows Server 2008 R2 had a feature "windows system resources manager" there you could limit it. I don't know why the feature was removed from RDS 2019. Is there an alternative? There must be an alternative... I wonder how the current RDS that are in operation will be managed with the new version. Hi all, I have a very annoying issue: when I'm having a videocall in Teams, at some point my CPU is capped at 0,78Ghz, causing my entire pc to slow down & the Intel GPU to max out. See screenshot in attachment. When the call is ended, the CPU goes back to +3Ghz and everything is OK. Disabling Intel Speedstep in Bios could be a solution, but I prefer to find a solution that fixes the actual issue and doesn't result in constant higher energy consumption. FYI it's a Dell XPS 9550 Any input is welcome, thxSolved8.3KViews0likes1CommentWindows Defender Full Scan renders devices unusable for 6-7 hours (while scan is running)
We are using Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and configured daily quick scans and weekly full scans. The quick scans don't create any problems but the full scans are a big problem. Devices are not usable while the scan is running, e.g. one click in MS Teams takes about one minute to complete. We are using the defaults recommended by Microsoft in our configuration profiles. What are the recommended settings for fine tuning full scans (e.g. ScanAvgCPULoadFactor) or are there specifi settings which are to be disabled in order to improve performance (e.g. DisableArchiveScanning). Thank you!5.3KViews0likes7CommentsCPU Management in IIS Application Pools: A Deep Dive into Advanced Settings for Optimal Performance
Application pools provide an isolation between different web application in Internet Information Services (IIS) by allowing you to manage the resources, recycling, and performance per application. Control of CPU usage is going to be one of the most critical factors in the performance and management of an application pool. IIS includes a dedicated section under ApplicationPool -> Advance Settings for the management of CPU. it provides varied settings that enable you to optimize the utilization of the CPU so that a particular server resource does not become dominated by one application. This article will dive into the CPU settings for an ApplicationPool, explaining each option and its configuration.3.1KViews4likes0CommentsTeams for Windows, CPU consumption
Hello everyone! Since past month i noticed what my Teams application for Windows started to use a lot part of my CPU just working in the background. So no chats, conferencing or any communications, just backgroud work with a 30% of CPU consumption. I have Core i5-8265U laptop, which actually quite powerfull CPU, and i'm sure this is not a normat situation. How can i find the cause? Version of the software: 1.3.00.4461 x64 Thanks!2.7KViews0likes1CommentGeneral AVD Slowness
We have a pool of NV24s_V3 VMs running. The VMs have 170+ applications on them so we have to keep the total number of users per VM down to 12. That being said, I can power on one of our VMs, let it boot up and sit for 10-15 minutes to get through all its startup processes and then login. When I login and get to my desktop, OneDrive will sync for a bit, but outside of that the CPU is under 10%, RAM is under 10% used and Disk Util is 15-20%. Even with those numbers low and me being the ONLY user on the VM, its still slow to open applications. It even takes 5-6 seconds for File Explorer to open. I see defender processes running under Disk stats, but it alone shouldnt be causing that kind of slow down, especially when the CPU / RAM / Disk stats are low. Anyone have any advice of something to look at to speed up performance? We have already excluded Defender from scanning Program Files and Program Files (x86). Just very troubling that its slow with just 1 user logging onto a 24 proc, 200+ GB RAM VM.1.9KViews0likes2Comments
