STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION after Edge 84 Update
Hi, I'm receiving the error STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION when browsing after update to Edge 84. I'm trying to repro the issue, but it seems to happen randomly. If I hit "Refresh", the web returns to work without any problem. I'm not using any third party antivirus software, just Windows Security.
Geolocation wrong (really wrong) in Edge but correct in Chrome
This is probably a Windows 10 API problem not an Edge issue, but geolocation is wrong - usually really, really wrong - in Edge... while Chrome gets my location dead-on. On the same computer. At the same time. Before we get into any 101 fixes - I deal with location tech in my job, and I know W10 well enough to know how to correctly configure my country, and clear my location. This is a problem that exists on fresh installs of W10 and Edge. I can send some screenshots to engineers who may be lurking. The distance off is around 500 miles or so. It is locating me in a place that I've never visited. This has been a problem for years and a few (Google) searches shows that it pops up in the Feedback Hub, the user forums and other places every now and then, with no fix. I really want to use Edge. But correct geolocation is so fundamental to everything associated with search-based services today, and it gets old getting recommendations to walk down the street to a store that is 500 miles away.
MS Edge - Sidebar and copilot not working on Linux Ubuntu v24 LTS
Sidebar not syncing or accepting new app additions (+). Copilot button is dead/inactive. Sidebar settings are well configured. Using the latest version of the Ubuntu OS and MS Edge. This flag: Omnibox rich entity suggestions Display entity suggestions using images and an enhanced layout; showing more context and descriptive text about the entity. – Mac, Windows #omnibox-rich-entity-suggestions has never worked. neither in version 77, 78 nor 79. the expected behavior is this: (as the name says, to show Rich Entity Suggestions) this is from Google Chrome. but what is happening instead is this: Edge does Not show Rich Suggestions.
100% CPU usage since Edge 105 on Mac M1 ?
After browsing for a little while, CPU usage increases to 100%. When I checked in Task Manager, it's not related to any specific tab but the "browser" process. Closed all tabs doesn't solve it. I temporarily switched to 106 (dev) and the issue is gone for awhile but then resurfaces[FIXED] Edge insider Canary Not working anymore. opens all websites in WDAG Application Guard Window
UPDATE: Fixed in Edge insider Version 79.0.294.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) I just updated my Edge insider Canary to Version 79.0.292.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) and After that, when I type in something in the omnibox or click on any bookmark, the browser launches the Windows Defender Application Guard window and attempts to open that websites in there. I said attempt because It tries and fails with this error: I'm on Windows 10 fast ring build 18990. tried restarting computer and disabling all extensions but still no luck. whatever this last update had triggered this problem. so right now Edge insider canary is literally dead and I'm posting this with Edge classic. Elliot Kirk anyone else experiencing this?
