Hello, A customer from me has the issue, that he cannot print with microsoft Project on the A0 format. When he wants to have it printed, he has to save it first with 'Print to PDF', and after that, send it with another tool to the printer, to print it at A0 format. He is using Microsoft Professional Project 2016 1. Is it true that Microsoft Project Cannot print on A0 with a real printer? 2. Is there a Microsoft Project version, where this is changed/solved? We have 26 "Project for Office 365" licenses which I believe are now called Project Online Professional. We are supposed to have a PWA option within SharePoint online to setup and direct our Projects to be stored in the cloud plus setting up shared enterprise fields like resources etc. I am the SharePoint Admin yet I don't see this PWA anywhere on our tenants. If I click on New > I only have Private Site Collection and nothing about PWA. I also cannot configure an existing site collection to use it as it's just not there. We own this software and subscribe to it, so how do we simply setup a "SharePoint Server" online to host all of our project data?13KViews1like11CommentsHow to enable Auto Save on Project 2016?
Hello everyone! When I posed this question to all encompassing search engines (including MS) I get a flurry of articles telling me to go into save options and enable autosave so it saves every 5 minutes, etc. That's not the autosave I'm looking for. All my other office apps have a toggle button on the title bar "Autosave ON or Off" which works in conjunction with Microsoft OneDrive to automatically save your file while working, as well as provide the ability to have your office files on your local system and automatically backed up to the cloud. I can't find any articles about how to enable this. Please advise what I am missing.Solved8.5KViews0likes5CommentsMS Project 2016 row height problem
Suddenly the row heights of new projects is about 8 letters tall rather than the normal 1 letter high. I tried adjusting the row heights via the prescribed View-Tables-Entry-Edit route. I can make them bigger to say row height 10, but when i got back to row height 1 or 2 it stops at about 8. I can open older schedules and they are okay and i can wipe old schedules and reuse the schedule format at the correct row height. In desperation i deleted 2016 and reinstalled it. To no avail. The new schedules all open at a height of about 8. I also cannot manually decrease the size of any of the rows. Any ideas i am desperate?Solved7.3KViews0likes13CommentsUsing MS Project Online: linking to SharePoint/Planner
Hey MS Project community, First time poster. I have a question concerning integrating MS Project into the suite of PM tools used through Sharepoint. A little background on the issue(s) I'm facing: -I developed my Project tasklist (i.e. activities associated with my project) through the MS Project application (non through the web). -After I finished inputing basic project data, I uploaded the project to the Project online (through a PWA). I am able to edit the project both through the online version and desktop version (and all edits made in either version are reflected in the other. -One of the reasons my company invested in Project was due to the ability to connect it with Microsoft Planner and use our SharePoint teams/groups to help populate project "resources". However, here is where I'm having problems: 1)When I use the desktop version of Project and go to link a task/activity with a specific to-do list in MS Planner, I get a message that says "Cannot create a link". When I use the link to MS Planner option in the desktop version of Project, I am able to see the Planner Group and sub-plans: I just cannot create a link 2) When on the web-based version, I cannot assign resources, deliverables, or attribute risks to my projects. When I attempt to do so, I can a message that "This project is not linked to a site". All the "how to" videos I've sen online (Youtube, Lynda, MasterAcademy) all agree that the Planner needs to be published through the web-app. And then, in order to assign deliverables, there needs to be a "project site". I'm not clear on how to address these two problems (from my understanding, it seems link creating a project site and linking Planner with Project online can be done through the same fix and should solve my problem). Do you all think this is the right approach? Is there another approach? Thanks ahead of time for the suggestions and advise! Andrew6.2KViews0likes6CommentsDurations not changing when I add resources
I am having an issue while assigning resources to tasks. I have set the tasks to fixed work as I want durations to change when I add resources. I set the work in hours and add resources (I only have 2 resources but add multiple units) and the duration should change. For some reason whenever I try to go back and adjust the resources the duration stays the same. I don't think I have changed any settings. If I delete the hours, resources and durations then add them back in it sets the duration right, but if I come back to the task to adjust again the duration wont change. Please help, this is really getting frustrating and I cannot find an answer anywhere. Do you have to assign resources correctly the first time and then not change them? This doesn't seem right as I want to be able to adjust resources after I do it the first time. I would have thought I could go back and adjust resources as I please and Project would just keep adjusting the duration? I have taken snapshots to show the problem. After initial assignment of resources duration and the split of work between resources is correct "Electrician" increased by 1 unit but duration remains the same. I delete the hours and resources to "reset" the task. Set hours and resources and duration is set correctly After closing the assign resources window and performing another action I go back and try to adjust resources again and the duration stays the same4.1KViews0likes1CommentMS Project VBA Default Location and Default AutoScheduled tasks
Hello, I have two VBA related questions for MS Project. 1) How do I find the Default File Location? In Excel it is easy with Application.DefaultFilePath but I can't seem to find an equivalent in MS Project. 2) How can I set the default Task Mode to Auto Scheduled for all new projects? I know how to do it in the manually in the options but I'm looking for a VBA approach. Thank YouSolved3.3KViews0likes7CommentsHow do I distribute a single ribbon tab and custom icons
Hello, I'm using MS Project 2016. I have been working on a single custom MS Project tab (with (hopefully) custom icons) that I want to distribute to other people in my organisation. Originally I wanted to something simple in VBA like in (much) older versions of MS Project where you could import a menu. However my searches found this is no longer possible with answers all pointing to the export/import tool for ribbon customisation. My issue with that approach is that is that the destination user would get all of my customisations and any previous customisations they had would be wiped out. They would not be happy. So basically I just want to distribute a single tab without changing any other customisation that the destination user may have. I am thinking of going back to VBA and parsing the MSProject.officeUI file to insert my tab. I do feel this may be a convoluted approach and was wondering if people knew of an alternate approach. I'm looking at the CustomUI Editor to look at getting the custom tabs into the xml ribbon. Unless others have a better suggestion. Edit Just played around with CustomUI Editor (first time) and it does not look like it will work with MS Project. So to revamp the question on Icons - Can people direct me to a tutorial on how to create custom icons and distribute them with the ribbon tab for MS Project. The ones I have found have only been for word and Excel using the CustomUI Editor. Thank You.2.4KViews0likes4CommentsHow to change Task Finish date format created by custom filed on gantt chart?
