I am writing a novel on word.
I have section breaks for each new chapter, "different first page" is toggled as I don't do page numbers on chapter title pages, and "different even and odd" is also toggled as I have a differing book title / author name headers for each page, still, neither of those on chapter title pages.
The alignment of my page numbers, regardless of whether I double click the footer on an odd or even page indicates that the page number alignment is set to "outside", like it should be. However, only the even pages appear on the outside, the odd pages appear on the inside. If I switch around the alignments, the even page numbers switch back and forth at will, while the odd page numbers remain completely stationary, exactly where they are. I can't even get them to move at all.
This is book 2 of my series. When I look at book 1's format settings, where the page numbers are completely correct, all the toggled settings are the same! I can't figure out what the hold up is on this document.
