MS Word, Markall Index when text contains a colon
Trying to add to my Index, by selecting Reference > Mark Entry > Mark all text that contains a colon e.g., xx:yy. When I do this I get "error msg" No index entries marked. Help?

- Note that "wildcards", which it is assumed you mean by xx and yy cannot be used when marking index entries Apart from that, as a colon has a special function in the marking of index entries, to mark all instances of text that contains a colon you would first need to use the replace facility to replace the colon with say $ then use the Index Mark All to mark all instances of the text and then use the replace facility to replace $ with a colon.
- CxdriverCopper ContributorDoug thx for responding. I tried your suggestion by swapping : with @. Successfully was able to mark multiple entries for the Index without an error msg. However, when reverting back from the @ to : the marked text retains the @. Here's a sample (2 Tim 2:15), {EX "2 Tim 2@15"}. Other suggestions, sir?
Cxdriver It worked fine here, replacing the colon with @, then after marking the entries, replacing @ with a colon
