MS Word, Markall Index when text contains a colon
Trying to add to my Index, by selecting Reference > Mark Entry > Mark all text that contains a colon e.g., xx:yy. When I do this I get "error msg" No index entries marked. Help?

Note that "wildcards", which it is assumed you mean by xx and yy cannot be used when marking index entries
Apart from that, as a colon has a special function in the marking of index entries, to mark all instances of text that contains a colon you would first need to use the replace facility to replace the colon with say $ then use the Index Mark All to mark all instances of the text and then use the replace facility to replace $ with a colon.

However, when reverting back from the @ to : the marked text retains the @. Here's a sample (2 Tim 2:15), {EX "2 Tim 2@15"}. Other suggestions, sir?

Cxdriver It worked fine here, replacing the colon with @, then after marking the entries, replacing @ with a colon
If you cannot get it to work, upload a copy of the document so we can check on it.
