Windows 11, multi-monitor issue - Cursor jumps to closest corner of above monitor.
Here is every monitor setup in the world that will have this issue on Windows 11:
The issue is when moving cursor to the top pixel line of a monitor, if there is no monitor above, the cursor will be teleported to the closest monitor corner above. This is considered a feature added in windows 11 but it is a grievance for all users.
Example when cursor move to any of the red dots it will be teleported to the Red Arrow in the image.
*Left side
*Right Side
Note yellow X marks that (there is no monitor Right of top monitor) its just how windows 11 works and don't show you.
We have multiple work stations all with multiple monitors and similar display layout for our specific work optimization, windows support work is part of this.
We have reported this a number of times but Microsoft don't seem to take this serious or throw this issue aside/remove the post confused with another post that notes cursor teleporting to a specific X,Y position, or jittering around, note this is not the same issue.
It impacts all work, applications, desktop usage, entertainments, especially window mode.
Why is majority of function at a teleporting line at the top?
The one who added this & designed this needs to be replaced with an actual UX developer.
*Web tabs are at the top.
*Steam options at the top.
*Outlook search is at the top.
*Right side on every single program.
You try to close the program? no you get teleported away from button.
How to Replicate?
On any windows 11 2x monitor configuration.
1. Place monitors like in image.
2. Move cursor to wards yellow line from below.
3. watch cursor teleport to red arrow.
FYI: I wont add computer details to this post as it is redundant and not the issue.
It is not a driver or any other issue then Windows 11 that is configured to move the mouse to the closest screen corner above.

Go to and disable the (Ease cursor movement between displays) function at the location:
Settings > System > Display > Multiple Displays > Ease cursor movement between displays.
*If you have a wireless mouse.
Turn it off after i changed the setting and turned it back on, it was solved for Domkamp this way.
(On/Off didn't solve it prior to changing this setting)
- I was experiencing what I think was the same issue, and although I couldn't find anything online about it, other than this post, I eventually found a solution.
Go to Settings > System > Display > Multiple Displays > Ease cursor movement between displays.

Worked perfectly - you saved my sanity!

Thanks for this post, unchecking 'ease cursor movement' solved this unexpected and confusing cursor jumping. I cannot believe this is still default behavior 2 1/2 years later

It's a very usefull feature of OS and with the simple solution to make it OFF which I've remarked at very first time setting up multiple displays
Unlike the the other users above - I'm very unhappy those opportunities is not able for Win10 machines with no Win11 upgrade possibility.
Have anyone find something equal for Win10?

I was so annoyed by this issue. Thank you so much for sharing the solution!
Not sure what the setting is called "Ease cursor movement ...". It does the opposite of ease.
- marekvseBrass ContributorYep, I totally second that: The person who designed this "feature" should be replaced with an actual UX developer. This is ridiculous and that option should be called "Confuse cursor movement between monitors" instead of "Ease cursor movement..."
I'm a developer myself and I am all in favor of giving users options even if I cannot see a clear use case sometimes. If I have a feeling there could be one I prefer to add that option because the fact I can't think of a clear one does not necessarily mean that there is none. It may be just a lack of my imagination on that point. But gee, why is this totally confusing option set as a default goes beyond me. I can't in fact see even a vague point here where this could be useful in general. Maybe as a "Ctrl + mouse move" may be useful to find your cursor (for which there are better options) or to ensure my curser goes to the monitor on that side for sure, but as a general behaviour where going between monitors just on the edge throws my cursor back where not expected is truly terrible.
It is strange, but I see this kind of stupidity happening in Microsoft products ever since Bill Gates left the company. I'd have many, many examples like this unfortunately. Even things that Microsoft itself made a general UX rule they themselves started breaking for no reason while everyone until now still follows them. - John_Simon_GnanarajCopper ContributorThanks!

DayLit thank goodness for this simple solution! I was constantly searching for my cursor when going between monitors. I have 4 monitors, set up in aligned quadrants according to the settings in System>Display, but the cursor would avoid one quadrant and go across to a different one. Disabling the "ease cursor movement between displays" has made it much easier to deal with the cursor movement between displays.
The feature should be called "complicate cursor movement between displays"!

DayLit and @seti1 -- Thanks for the posted solution! I was having a different problem, but the solution also fixed it. I have a 4 monitor setup... two monitors on top, and two monitors directly below them... When moving the mouse horizontally between the two lower monitors, or even getting close to the edge of one monitor, the mouse would randomly be teleported to one of the upper monitors. Your solution to disable the "ease" feature completely solved it!! Thank you!!!
