- NigelIron ContributorDoes the new Windows app come to Android?
- Sandeep Patnaik
Microsoft
Android is a very important platform for us, and we absolutely will bring Windows App to Android. We do not have a specific date for it at the moment but will share more information on this in the first half of next year.
- JerryPhommarathCopper ContributorWill the Windows App replace Remote Desktop App? or will that app exist in parallel?
- TomHickling
Microsoft
Eventually it will replace all other Remote Desktop apps, although they are not yet set to be deprecated, they will co-exist but the new UX in the Windows app with no regressions will likely mean you will be using the new client more than any of the others
- JerryPhommarathCopper ContributorIs the Windows App only available via the Microsoft Store? What solution are we expecting for Windows Thin Clients that do not have the Windows Store?
- Char_CheesmanBronze Contributor
Welcome to What's new and what's next for Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop and the second annual Microsoft Technical Takeoff for Windows + Intune! Have a question? Post here in the Comments so we can help. Let’s make this an active Q&A!
- treestryderIron ContributorWhat are folks using for "thin clients" to access Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop? As it is, if you have to manage a full physical PC, might as well keep the workloads on the physical PC.
- NigelIron ContributorWindows 10/11 Kiosk mode via Intune - otherwise known as Assigned Access. No reason to manage a separate Linux thing OS anymore 🙂
- treestryderIron ContributorWe used to joke at my last job, just have to find a way to label a thing as an "appliance" and you no longer had to worry about it (update/secure/maintain it). Printers, phones, cameras, routers, switches, purple firewalls.... for whatever reason, they were not a checkbox during audits at that time.
- tmareidCopper Contributorwe are using full physical locked down to limited subset of remote desktop and productivity apps. Our philsophy is that we are reducing attack surfaces by keeping lob apps within the AVD estate - rather than on roaming clients which are more difficult to keep updated

tmareid and Charlie Dobson, or anyone else,
Have you looked at whether the "Windows 365 Boot" configuration?
