What are folks using for "thin clients" to access Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop? As it is, if you have to manage a full physical PC, might as well keep the workloads on the physical PC.
- NigelNov 27, 2023Iron ContributorWindows 10/11 Kiosk mode via Intune - otherwise known as Assigned Access. No reason to manage a separate Linux thing OS anymore 🙂
- treestryderNov 27, 2023Iron ContributorWe used to joke at my last job, just have to find a way to label a thing as an "appliance" and you no longer had to worry about it (update/secure/maintain it). Printers, phones, cameras, routers, switches, purple firewalls.... for whatever reason, they were not a checkbox during audits at that time.
- tmareidNov 27, 2023Copper Contributorwe are using full physical locked down to limited subset of remote desktop and productivity apps. Our philsophy is that we are reducing attack surfaces by keeping lob apps within the AVD estate - rather than on roaming clients which are more difficult to keep updated

tmareid and Charlie Dobson, or anyone else,
Have you looked at whether the "Windows 365 Boot" configuration?
- Charlie DobsonNov 27, 2023Iron ContributorNo. My company doesn't seem interested in W365; only AVD.
- Charlie DobsonNov 27, 2023Iron ContributorWe are still searching for a "thin client" type device, but we have the same philosophy of locking down the physical hardware and keeping everything in the cloud VM.
